Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

Sarahroccorayne. Hi u haven’t got any update till now ? R u going to call tomorrow.

Victoriacf1984 · 10/04/2022 17:09

I originally phoned Mar 2021 to request a change of circumstances due to DD and her official diagnosis of ASD, SMI and SPD. I was told on call not to bother as she already receives enough HRC, LRM so I was like ok just I didn’t want to be over paid and over granted the dla award. Fast forward to end of Oct and talking to school SenCo, she advised me that Isobel could qualify for HRM due to her SMI, ASD and her unpredictable and sometimes volatile behaviour. The latter of which is becoming so much more frequent the older she’s becoming. So I call up again In November 2021 and request a COC and to change my address. Received no form by end of Dec 2021 so I phoned again after the kids went back and life became a little less hectic after the madness of Christmas. They advised they did send a form but they only changed my address n not my DD so the form was sent out to her address which was our old address. So they send another one out after updating the system, regarding addresses. My form was sent back and put on the system Feb 10th. I called 6 weeks later to be told they were only getting through COC dated 12th November. Was like okay cool, I’ll wait till May and chase it. Then I received a letter week later stating it’s not been dealt with. So I called to clarify what this meant. She explained (lovely lady btw) and backed up previous agent by saying the back log is still going through Nov 2021 COC. I explained that that actually should be me if it wasn’t for the addresses not being updated correctly, she agreed and put a request for my claim to be escalated and to call back in two weeks! Couldn’t wait so I called back Thursday last week and our claim is with a decision maker. Does anyone know how long a claim is with a DM before they make the final outcome?. Also, does anybody have any advice claiming HRM for ASD with SMI and who is non verbal, has sensory processing disorder and disruptive unpredictable behaviour so much so, she escaped her education provision by climbing the gates, was found two roads down in the middle of the road playing by a bus driver. Honestly, making me ill Confused
