Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

I probably won't call to see what rate etc and just wait for payment and letter but such a relief the wait is over! Does anyone know how long you usually wait for the back payment? And is it paid weekly or monthly after that? xx

Kita12 · 08/04/2022 12:06

You normally get back pay with in 3 to 5 working days and it’s every 4 weeks the payments are x

Nicolaoro567 · 08/04/2022 14:28

I spoke to someone a few days ago said it was with a case manager something along those lines. Hopefully not much longer now xx

PuddlePip · 09/04/2022 01:23

@Raychel1989 I would send them another letter explaining the night time needs. The medication your child is on and that it helps to get them to sleep but doesn't stop them waking up. Idk if your child is the same as my son but he wakes up every night as it doesn't keep him asleep all night, maybe they just need that to be made clear is that's the case? They also have to be up more than half the nights in a week I belive to qualify for higher rate, someone correct me if I'm wrong on that. As when my son first started the medication I didn't explain myself properly and they put him on middle rate for a long time.

I’ve been watching this thread since applying for my son just wanted to pop on I sent off beginning of feb stamped the 14th feb I had a letter today saying they are sorry they haven’t given a decision yet and they will be in contact soon is this a good thing? Has anyone else had this and then been awarded? I’m so worried I haven’t sent enough evidence 😬

Marzal · 09/04/2022 09:55

Thought I’d add my son is 7 he’s up every night we’re on a hourly night routine with medication and treatments it’s draining and the same in the day x

Dudders88 · 09/04/2022 10:09

Ours was stamped the 18th feb I had a letter dated 22nd feb saying they had received our forms please allow 8 weeks I haven't had any since I’ve seen a few say they have had that letter then a week later had a decision when they have phoned for an update. Good luck hope you have a decision soon x

Tiasmommy · 09/04/2022 10:44

Hi I’m the 7th of feb had a Letter a week ago saying no decision yet!! When I called the lady told me 10/11 weeks waiting times on average at the moment. Hope we all here soon x

Rileyjaysmommy · 09/04/2022 12:05

I had the same letter two weeks ago I’m stamped 3rd of feb and my claim went to decision maker Thursday and they said I should no next week what the decision is claims are taking 10/11 weeks in total I got told on the phone yesterday x

Tiasmommy · 10/04/2022 07:28

I hope you hear soon rileyjaysmom! X The woman I spoke to didn’t even ask any details name reference I told her as since villainy in the forms my daughter has to move to a smaller school setting I was asked by the education as there doing a echo plan if I was in receipt of dla hence why I called then and she was like wells why do they want to know !!! Which got my back up slightly as I don’t know why they asked so I said presume it’s in support for her moving schools she was then replied oh yeah never thought of that!! Then literally said well sorry it’s taking 10/11 weeks so you might here soon I was waiting for her to ask for the reference so she could at least tell me where about the claim was nothing. So now I’m just waiting I’ve never known anything be so stressful!! X Goodluck I hope your claim is dealt with and you get the award asap xx
