DLA waiting times 2022

Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Sorry for all the updates, I just thought it might help others waiting.

I called them and they told me what he had been awarded and said the back payment had already been issued so should be with me within the next few days. He also clarified exactly what my son will get per month going forwards. So it all moved fast as soon as it got to the decision maker.

I've not included my son's IEP in with his evidence I can I send this in even though they have my forms? I can't find anything online to say what information I'll need to add somit will be linked to his claim

@whitwoochantelle it's worth sending in anything you have. So send it and any piece of paper just make sure your national insurance number is on it. I think I put my national insurance and claim reference number on every piece of paper when I sent in some additional evidence and change of GP surgery address. I did this 4 weeks roughly after forms stamped and I did get a letter dated 22nd March confirming they haven't made a decision yet... x

I'm actually on hold to them now LOL it's been over 30 mins will update with what they say.

Hiya everyone, just wondered if any of you can help. So I just received HRC dla for my little boy. I'm currently working part time & receive working tax credits/child tax credits, I haven't been changed over to UC just yet. Do I have to inform tax credits of this change. Thank you

I'm not 100% sure but yes I think you do as you get extra money

@nercr yes you do as you'll be entitled to a disabled child element which they will also backdate to the date your dla award started from

Sueaxlbrick. When they received your claim . Mine was 31 jan. Nothing yet .

Mine was received on the 4th February and was a brand new claim. It will be 9 weeks tomorrow since they received it

Yes 😂 I’m guessing some claims are easier to decide than others 🤷‍♀️ Hopefully we will get decision soon

Change of circumstance we have waited 22 weeks and been told his rate has not changed when the guy on phone went through the reason as to why made me really angry the decision maker said he doesn’t qualify for higher rate because he has medication for sleep these people cannot he health professional as the medication he is on is not a sedative and when I said want to a mandatory reconsideration he was quite rude and said you do know they could lower your award or stop it altogether are you sure you want to go ahead. Btw my son is 3 diagnosed non verbal autistic unsteady on feet awake most of night while on melatonin and is 24/7 supervision as bangs head and climbs and jumps I didn’t have to send any more forms said it goes in a holding pot for 3 weeks and then given to someone to look at again any advice similar experience I am gearing myself up to having to go to tribrunal c sorry for long post little frustrated

She msg the case worker while I was on the phone and says she didn’t understand why I have no decision as they’ve made decisions on cases after the 1st feb

Hi been following this thread for few weeks now very helpful and good to know you are not alone.
My form was received and stamped 7th Feb.
Received a letter dated 27th March saying sorry for delay they are still dealing with claim.
I called up couple of days ago they said it was still in a queue and probably hear something in next two weeks.
I'm going to ring Monday now if I have not heard anything by then.

Hi I’m stamped 3rd of February I just rang they said it went to the case worker yesterday and I should ring up after the 20th if I haven’t heard anything by then and they should have a decision
