Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

Just found this thread I'm waiting to hear back for my 2 year old son, we have no diagnosis, I sent off statements from his nursery, referrals to higher needs funding, portage, speech and language and community peds. I'm not sure of our chances tbh. I was hoping for it more so he could go nursery more to help with his social and communication needs. We send our form 14th of Feb so still a few weeks off. Has any one sent off for a child similar to my own and been awarded or not.

@Naomis121 16th December, I was told last week we should hear first week of May but it keeps changing.

I would be tempted to call again but the wait time to speak to someone is soo long x

Ltb17 · 07/04/2022 07:46

@Naomis121 i know, it's so frustrating having to wait, I'm not holding my breath for it to be any time soon though especially considering over Easter we have the bank holidays which are only likely to delay it more. Astounds me that change of circumstances takes so much longer, my sons initial claim only took 9 weeks and that felt like forever lol. I'm also awaiting on a decision for a new claim for my other son but he's wasn't received until 23rd March xx

When I put her change of circumstances in, I was shocked when I rang to check the waiting time! It’s such a long wait!

For my son and daughters first claims they were 8 and 10 weeks!

Change of circumstances is 18 weeks +!
