Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

Hi all, I've been following this post for weeks. So just thought I'd update in hope it helps someone else with time frames. I just got a payment today and my form was received on the 19th Jan :) I'm guessing HRC but unsure until the letter comes. X

Sarahroccorayne · 05/04/2022 07:30

Hi did they contact you or anybody before decision was made? Thank you

nercr · 05/04/2022 08:19

I had zero contact with anyone the whole way through xx

Though I would post my experience of when I claimed dla for my son, he's just turned 5, he has suspected austim, global development delay and suspected adhd. We are on the pathway awaiting assesment. He attends mainstream full time school. When I first applied he was awarded hrc, all I sent in was his initial report from paediatrician and a letter from his school. They never contacted myself, school, gp or paediatrician. Just went with the paperwork they had. Hopefully that helps some of you awaiting a decision.
We had to do change of circumstances 13th December forms were received for the mobility part as he has now turned 5, have been told we will be waiting until early May for a decision. If anyone has any questions I'm happy to answer.

Ltb17 · 05/04/2022 08:54

Just to add the paediatrician letter wasn't actually received until after they had already awarded him so that wasn't taken into consideration so really the only thing they had was what I put on form and letter from school

Really glad this page exists as you really do feel alone untill you speak to people going through the same thing and everybody posting updates and experiences which really does help
