Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

@Wilzo235 my daughter was awarded HRC I just wrote down what she was like during the night, but she also falls asleep at school (at least 2/3 times a week) so this was detailed in her school report so I think this helped back up my claim that she is awake most nights.

Thankyou for the reply my sons only in nursery 1.5 hrs a day (reduced hours) so they haven't seen anything like this. He is starting a new nursery that are better trained in sen in sept I can't wait for a few more hours peace haha. Think my mind just going into overdrive with the really long wait

@Wilzo235 my daughter who’s 3 was awarded HRC, I just wrote down how she is at night, waking several times a night and wondering about. Her report from paediatrician I sent with form had mentioned her sleep pattern and how we’ve taken step to put locks on bathroom door so she can’t enter them at night as she’s obsessed with water so tries to put water on. Plus she isn’t toilet trained yet so when she is up through the night we have to change her.

Oh the wait is awful haha mine change of circumstances and I’m waiting upto 18/19 weeks only one week 11 x
looneylou201 · 04/04/2022 13:03

Iv just rang this morning the lady said claims upto 3rd feb should be done in the next week. I am the 2nd feb and she's said if I haven't heard via letter or text by the end of next week to ring back and they should have a decision! Hope that's helpful to some xx

Sarahroccorayne · 04/04/2022 13:03

I would of thought the change in circumstances would be quicker than a new claim 18weeks is just too long to wait isn’t it especially if it’s not the outcome your wanting and takes even longer 🙄

Sarahroccorayne · 04/04/2022 13:06

That’s helpful I’m on hold now I might put it down if that’s what you been told as I’m the 1st feb fingers crossed for every body

Sarahroccorayne · 04/04/2022 13:15

It’s with the decision maker I’m not sure if I’m happy or worried now 😳

Change of circumstances seems to be ages! I wish it was a lot quicker to be honest.

I'm 10 weeks Thursday last week they said it's taking around 10 weeks and should hear this week, I'm not ringing up as when I do they tell me another week so don't wanna hear that again! Haha
Sarahroccorayne · 04/04/2022 16:06

Yes ino what your saying I got told another 4weeks on Friday and some are very rude when you ring up which is abit off putting i will update iv got bad feeling as every body has had positive outcomes lol

whitwoochantelle · 04/04/2022 18:28

I'm the 18th of web so a little wait. X

an774 · 04/04/2022 20:28

Hi, I have been following this for a while I have put in a claim for my 5 year old son and his forms were received march 10th I know I have a little wait yet but I found the form very stressful and forgot to add about a few things of which includes his chewing things around him sometimes this can be a dangerous, he has chewed walls, beds, toilet seats, stones etc. I feel this is important for them to know as it's due to his possible Autism we are awaiting assessments should I send this in as extra information or just leave it as it is? many thanks!

Sarahroccorayne · 04/04/2022 21:10

I would definitely write it all down and send it in as you have abit to wait aswell and I actually rang them and just gave my supporting evidence over the phone from letters I haven’t sent if they needed them they said they would ask so deffo worth it I think

Sarahroccorayne · 04/04/2022 21:13

I also have not really put much on his forms as I struggled to explain myself so I’m hoping the dm rings me before a decision is made i also struggle with spelling and my handwriting isn’t the best i struggled to read it back myself lol

Dudders88 · 05/04/2022 00:34

Just been reading through this thread our form was received on the 18th feb so guessing we still have quite a wait….. not feeling very hopeful not sure I put enough evidence on the form. Anyone else waiting from around the same time?
