DLA waiting times 2022

Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you for the reply I didn't even realise they needed to tick 3/7 areas I guess we will wait and see. She was recently awarded dla hrc lrm so hopefully that helps! Hopefully you are successful on your appeal. Hope it's not too long a wait for dla either 😔 I know the wait times are crazy at the moment

we got acknowledgment on the 18th jan but he's just been put onto a iep plan which I haven't mentioned on the form - think its worth ringing up and adding it on

Just to update, my sons new claim was received 24th Jan, no letter yet, or text, but I’ve received his payment into my bank today 1st April

@Wilzo235 So sorry to hear you didn’t get accepted for a family fund. My Son had already been accepted for DLA and I was asked to send this as evidence so maybe wait until you have DLA evidence? Sometimes people say they don’t go by diagnosis or by DLA claims but more and more people are getting asked to prove their child’s difficulties. Can you appeal the family fund?

Hi yes they said that they think it just lack of info so i can appeal a report from his pead so hopefully get somewhere. I'm also only on week 4 of waiting for dla so might have a long wait

He also only has a co ordinated support plan from nursery not a EHCP but will hopefully be getting one at his new nursery he goes to in sept. I cant wait till he moves nursery actually a s he still on 1.5 hrs a day after being there a year

Received a letter dated from the 28 march today saying sorry they taking long to deal with claim but will get it done as quickly as possible but would not lose any money has anybody else received this letter

Yea I had one on the 16th March still not heard anything. I'm dated from the 27th January

I got told last week. Mine was going for decision maker this week from monday . Hope we hear soon . Waiting for so long . I just want to find out yes or no . So I can get ready for next step . Thanks .

Mine was received 27th they said last week it should be sorted this week never said anything about decision maker, I'm hoping it is this week as will be 10 weeks of waiting and said they are taking roughly 10 weeks and running on time that's all I got from them

Sha2022 mines the 8th of feb but it got sent back to
Me on the 1st of feb because I forgot to sign declaration

Sha2022 it has bin a very long wait I requested the form on the 6 of December and it was sent to them in the 11 of Jan for them to keep it for nearly a month before sending it back to me then I had to wait another ten week to get a decision I'm just hoping they say yes and good luck with yours when you get your decision

I'm just wondering if anyone who has been awarded high rate care can tell me what proof they had for night time care? Or do they just take your word for it. My son is up most nights but all his reports are through school. First peads appointment is on Thursday.
