Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

@Abpconx that's such a long wait I know the change of circumstances is taking a lot longer. How old is your daughter? Hopefully they will have an answer for you by Monday!

Sarahroccorayne · 27/03/2022 20:16

I had a letter saying sorry it’s taking so long yesterday iv seen your last post about not signing and having to wait the full time again it really is stressful I hope you get good news soon

Abpconx · 27/03/2022 20:23

@CoffeeFirstPlease she will be 11 yrs old on Tuesday! I am going to give them a ring tomorrow at some point, I'm abit inpaitent, haha but iv only phoned 2x in 20 weeks so not bad tbh.
When I first sent the change of circumstances they said 10 to 11 weeks but its just gone on soo much longer.

Hi, just got off phone to Dla. My daughter was awarded Friday 25th and they sent back pay that day too. Ours was a change of circumstances she was on low rate care. She now has been awarded middle rate care and low mobility x

Abpconx · 28/03/2022 11:17

Forgot to add they have also backdated it to the 13/10/21 that's the day I rang up for the forms for change of circumstances. X

Hi all just to update on waiting times. My form was received the 24th January and we've been awarded yesterday. No txt but called up and was told over the phone.

Liv555 · 28/03/2022 12:35

I received a letter apologizing for the delay and that was dated 16th March so hopefully not too soon now!

Jadekaeli · 29/03/2022 09:26

Hi all,
Been following this thread for the last few days now.
Received confirmation forms were received on 28th Jan and the further letter at around 7 weeks apologising that they haven’t reached a decision.
Yesterday evening I received a text to say my son qualifies for DLA and I’ll get a letter re rates in the next two weeks, has anyone else had the text and how long did you wait for payment after that?
Thanks in advance Smile

Sarahroccorayne · 29/03/2022 10:08

That’s good news and from other posts it’s usually a few days later for payment from what I’ve seen 🙂

Jadekaeli · 29/03/2022 10:14

Ah perfect, thank you.

Just have to wait and see what he’ll get, it’s always been middle rate care but as he’s 5 now I’m not sure it they’r have tacked on any mobility. He’s deaf so can’t always hear traffic etc around him.

Ltb17 · 29/03/2022 10:31

So was that a change of circumstances or new claim as you said he was on mrc?

Hams12459 · 29/03/2022 10:49

Does anyone know how long it takes uc to update. I've left notes on journal an called twice an just get told to wait for my journal to update seems they like to take just as long to make a decision also?

nercr · 29/03/2022 11:52

Hi, first time commenting on this post but I have been following it for a few weeks and it's been great. Our form was received by them on the 19th Jan, never got a message/letter only found that out as I rang them to check they received the form. It's a new claim, just wondering if anyone has the same time frame and already heard back or not. Thank you :)

Polly421 · 29/03/2022 14:26

@Hams12459 when I told UC at end of November about my daughter dla, I got additional element in my next payment mid December and I got the backdated amount at end of December.
