Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

@Wilzo235 I never seen that message with mine, it would show me a list of the items I had asked for and next to playhouse it said accepted and it was about 2 months after I applied. Hope this helps.

@Mum2Two91 and @feg91

Can I ask was yours a first time claim? I have applied first time and they called last week to check which I wanted to be top priority as will probably only get one if eligible (trampoline or garden toys). Can I ask What evidence did you need to send in mine says assessing eligibility. I sent in my tax credit award and housing benefit letter I also sent my daughters dla and the school report.

feg91 · 24/03/2022 10:53

@CoffeeFirstPlease yes of course, mine was a first time claim. My son was only diagnosed with ASD in January this year. The only evidence I sent proof of UC award. I had the email confirming they had my application and that I would hear within 10 weeks and then no other contact until award letter.

I asked for centerparcs and a bed and mattress. I put the Center parcs as top priority and got accepted for that and refused the Argos voucher for the furniture. (I was more thinking of the future for the furniture anyway as he is 4 and hope to be out of cot bed one day)

Mine was stamped 17th December and got awarded yesterday! Mrc no mobility as he has no mobility issues.
It took longer than others as they asked for extra evidence from test he had beginning of this year.
So happy honestly thought they would say no!
Good luck to everyone still waiting :)

Naomis121 · 24/03/2022 13:28

Emzi89 is that a new claim?

Emzi89 · 24/03/2022 14:42

@Naomis121 yes it was a new claim.
Been backdated to 10th November when I asked for forms and awarded until November 2023.

Hi my son’s claim is 17th jan, i think it has gone in as a new claim because I didn’t renew in time so payments stopped. My last payment was early January. I’m on 9 weeks now and had a letter about 2 weeks ago apologising for the delay. Hoping to hear something soon x

Mum2Two91 · 25/03/2022 17:50

@Wilzo235 yes mine was first time with family fund. I sent everything what you did and was accepted. Keep checking emails as I received my acceptance in my junk folder and it was there for about a week before I knew about it.

CoffeeFirstPlease · 25/03/2022 19:49

@Mum2Two91 thank you so much for your reply! I'll definitely keep an eye on it. How long did it take for you to get your acceptance?

Whereohwhereohwhere · 26/03/2022 12:24

Mine was recieved on the 12th Jan and a decision was made on 21st March. HRC and LRM. I've really appreciated this thread for knowing when we may hear. Thank you all.

Abpconx · 27/03/2022 16:02

I sent my daughters change of circumstances in, was stamped as recieved on the 9th November 2021 phoned Tuesday and they said it was given to a descion maker Monday 21st. On Friday the descion make phoned me to just confirm everything & then said 'in order for me to award high rate mobility I would need to speak to school and I said yeah speak to headteacher we have a care plan etc that she can confirm with. Headteacher then confirmed she had spoken to her. Don't know if this could be good news or bad news? It's been 20 weeks on Tuesday 😧 I'm going to ring tomorrow to see if she's made a decision we currently only get low rate care and have done for 3 years but my daughter has arthritis & alpha 1 and possible ASD we are currently waiting for a date for an assessment with the hospital. I'm hoping and praying we get awarded a higher rate, her health's gone right down hill over last 12 months.

Abpconx · 27/03/2022 16:15

The descion maker did also say that she could see from the gets up alot in the night and her care needs have deteriorated. So unsure now praying for better news. 5 months is a long time to wait

kitamummy3 · 27/03/2022 19:46
