Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

Is that for a new claim, or change of circumstances x
Tinkerbellone · 22/03/2022 13:44

@Mum2gbg thank you for the pic of how to update UC. Fingers crossed they can add disabled child element now.
Does anyone know if UC backdate disabled child element? Thank you xx

Tinkerbellone · 22/03/2022 13:45

@Naomis121 it was a new claim. Reading on here, it's seems change of circumstances are taking longer.

Mum2gbg · 22/03/2022 14:07

@Tinkerbellone very welcome I think you have to ask for it to be backdated in your journal then gets sent to DM to be looked at

Hams12459 · 22/03/2022 14:26

Hi I've just changed mine with universal credit they said I have to wait for an update could take up to a month apparently

Emma94xx · 22/03/2022 16:02

Sha2022 · 22/03/2022 17:55

Hope every one hear good new . Waiting for so long it’s not easy .

Stressedmummy94 · 23/03/2022 09:13

Called up this morning to check if my sons extra evidence was received. They confirmed it was then asked me to confirm the doctors name, nursery name and which bank the payment would be received into.
Never been asked these three questions before when I’ve called. Do they normally ask these?

Sarahroccorayne · 23/03/2022 09:23

I haven’t but ino in past posts some have when did you send urs? I’m not sure if should call as it’s only been 9 weeks

Sarahroccorayne · 23/03/2022 09:24

And there really rude when Iv called in the past

Stressedmummy94 · 23/03/2022 09:33

Mine was only scanned 15th Feb. But wanted to make sure that his additional evidence was recieved as didn’t send any additional documents with form only HV and doctors details. They said currently working up to 19th Jan at the moment. I’m only on week 5 of waiting so wasn’t expecting a Decision :)
🤞 you get a decision soon

Sarahroccorayne · 23/03/2022 09:35

Oh so you got a decision aswell that’s great I’m glad every body has been getting what they was expecting 🙂

Sarahroccorayne · 23/03/2022 09:37

I think I miss read your post sorry

Stressedmummy94 · 23/03/2022 09:43

It’s okay. They said it’s about a 9-10 turn around at the minute. Hoping it’s not going to be too long of a wait. HV wants us to get our son booked in to more activities to try to burn him out a little bit as he has so much energy and never stops! We’ve managed to get him into football but that’s £28 a month so not much wiggle room for other activities we can book him in for at the minute!

Sarahroccorayne · 23/03/2022 10:11

I understand my little 1 only 2 half I’m being told to try find care for him and go to work but I’m being told he can not start mainstream play groups nursery so I’m really stuck at moment iv just rang and they told me another month before decision will be made

Wilzo235 · 23/03/2022 14:35

Has any one ever applied for family fund?

Mum2Two91 · 23/03/2022 15:34

Bit the bullet and rang, change of circumstances waiting times this week are 18 and a half weeks, I’m on 10th week so loads of waiting. Although she said it was lower last week and changes each week.

@Wilzo235 yes we recently got a grant for a playhouse for Son, which we will be using as a sensory room. They gave £500 and we had to put £200 towards it. Which was a huge help. Definitely recommend them.

I applied the the7th and noticed my application has been moved onto this on the tracking. Any idea how long it takes from this point?

Yes I applied 8th Feb and had a letter dated 2nd March rewarding us £450 towards Center parcs. (We don't have a garden or any private outside space so wanted something where we could get away).
