DLA waiting times 2022

Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Hey all, still no news on my boys claim. Stamped 12th Jan. When I phoned for form in December, I was told that if my son was eligible for a higher rate we would get back pay back until that day I phoned. After seeing some comments I’m now unsure if this is true?

Hey I also phoned for my forms on 13 December they was supposed to be back on 25 jan n they said they got them on the 1st feb so I’m not sure they will back date to that time iv been told I’m looking at 3rd week in April for decision prob will be longer looking at posts

I asked for my forms on the 30th November and they received them on the 10th January and when I rang on Friday my claim was awarded from the 30th November

My sons forms were stamped 13th January and I received a text today saying he qualifies.

Mine was stamped 11th January still haven’t heard anything 😞

@Plowman11 call them I hadn't heard anything no text message called and decision had been made. Just waiting for letter and 1st payment now x

@Plowman11 mine was received on Jan 7th. When I rang they said it was with the decision maker. So hopefully you will hear soon. Xx

It is usually back dated to the date you phone as long as it is back before the deadline stamped on the form. If received after that time it will be back dated to the date they received it if you are awarded.

How long does it usually take from decision to payment? I would call them but I’m at work durning open hours so won’t be able to hopefully will hear this week ☺️

@Plowman11 no idea. Decision was made Thursday so hoping next week but not sure

Thanks everyone, also who has new claim and who has change of circumstances? As from what I have read, there is different time frames.

Oh and do you get a text only with new claim or can you get one with Change of Circumstances?

@Mum2Two91 mine is new claim others have had texts with new claims personally I didn't but was told I would

My decision was made on Monday, I rang on Wednesday, and the guy said payment is 3-5 days after decision is made, mine was in the next day on Thursday, I never received any letter or text the whole time. We was change of circumstances and it took 20 weeks + 3 days. Hope that helps 😊

My decision was made on Thursday and the payment is going in tomorrow, still not had a text though

@Toritot1984 did you call to get that information? What date was yours stamped please? :)

Mine was stamped 10th January and I rang them on Friday

Hi all just wanted to let you know they received my forms 12th January, called today decision was made yesterday and been awarded hrc and lrm and takes 3 to 5 days to go in to bank
