Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

I’ve been following this thread as I have been waiting for my sons DLA to be awarded, I sent in 16th December and it was received on 23rd. Haven’t had a text or a letter to confirm but I received payment today (I rang last week for an update and it wasn’t even with the decision maker then).
Hope this helps people who are waiting, the wait is painful!!

Mummyjlr120 · 15/03/2022 14:31

My fingers are crossed for you hope it’s good news x

Tekd · 15/03/2022 14:57

Mine was scanned 5th of January had a txt today stating he has been awarded.

Tinkerbellone · 15/03/2022 15:55

Mine was scanned 7th January... still nothing. Hope it is soon. You're right @biding1 the wait is painful :(

Plowman1234 · 15/03/2022 16:18

We are currently doing a change of circumstances as our daughter was awarded mrc when she was 2, now 5. We sent ours off on the 15th October, received 22nd October, and we are still waiting. Apparently its been with the decision makers since 7th March. Surely it shouldn't take this long? Hoping to have a decision by the end of the week!

Tekd · 15/03/2022 18:26

It should be this week for you now, they also backdate from the day they send the form which I didn't know about.

Toritot1984 · 16/03/2022 07:10

I hope everyone still waiting gets good news today, the wait is horrible x

Hams12459 · 16/03/2022 07:33

I've woke up to a payment in my bank this morning. I've not received any communication from them at all. Form was received by them on 7th Jan.

Hams12459 · 16/03/2022 07:45

I'm going to have to call them today and see what's been awarded as the payment received works out to be exactly 13 weeks (backdated to day of calling for forms) of MRC yet no mobility, when the reason for her care needs is due to her mobility issues caused from illness so a bit baffled by that

Toritot1984 · 16/03/2022 07:58

My form was received on the 10th January so I should hear by the end of the week

Mum2gbg · 16/03/2022 09:04

@Toritot1984 me to was told yesterday should be by end of the week I will hear.

Imitatingdory · 16/03/2022 09:50

Hams12459 how old is DD?

Hams12459 · 16/03/2022 09:58

She's 10 in June, I'm on hold to them now. I'm very greatful for being accepted for middle rate care but her care is due to the mobility limiting her so I'm confused 😕

Imitatingdory · 16/03/2022 10:05

Hams I wondered if it was because DD was young, but that’s not the case. When you ask for a mandatory reconsideration have a look at the Cerebra guide if you didn’t use it when completing the forms.

Tinkerbellone · 16/03/2022 11:31

@Toritot1984 @Mum2gbg
These dates are confusing aren't they. Mine was received 7th Jan and when I rang on Monday the lady said the end of the month. :(

Mum2gbg · 16/03/2022 12:05

@Tinkerbellone they are yesterday I was told I should know by end of the week and was with decision maker but the more I read on this thread I'm not so sure

Meganos · 16/03/2022 12:14

I just called them and been told that my letter with further information was scanned already. So currently it takes 7-8days for new letters to be scanned.
