Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

I think they tell everyone different things!
I rang today and my claim was stamped 17th December; however, not with decision maker yet and got told at least another 3 weeks! 😥🤷‍♀️

Mummyjlr120 · 10/03/2022 13:40

I don’t think they know what days their on themselves🤣 weird how people got a decision before you but their forms was sent after yours so confusing

Mum2gbg · 10/03/2022 13:59

@Emzi89 Is that a new claim or coc?

Mum2gbg · 10/03/2022 14:00

@Mummyjlr120 it is seems more like pot luck

Emzi89 · 10/03/2022 14:04

@mummyjlr120 I know right?! Driving me mad lol
All I can think is they are waiting to hear back from consultants/school maybe 🤷‍♀️

Mum2gbg · 10/03/2022 14:06

Emzi89 · 10/03/2022 14:11

@Mum2gbg thank you me too!
I hope you're not waiting too long also

Mummyjlr120 · 10/03/2022 14:17

@emzi89 Yh that’s what I was thinking too, hopefully not much longer for you tho x

Needanewadventure2021 · 10/03/2022 16:09

Well I called today just to get an idea of timescales. Mine was only received 28th Feb so I know it will be a while! I was told 11 weeks turnaround now.

Looking at this thread I highly doubt it

NRRK28 · 10/03/2022 16:13

Anyone claim with clerical number instead of child NI ?? Clerical number usually for children who dont receive child benefit. How long does it takes?? Apparently they said it takes longer than normal claim. Anyone with clerical number may i know how long your claim takes??

That's so strange mine was stamped 31st and it's apparently being looked at this weekend.

@Helpimfalling fingers crossed for good news for you next week then :)

And I know right?! I truly don't understand it either but just wait and see I guess. I'm anticipating a no anyway to be honest anyway :(

Same I've told myself all along that it will be a no.
Then we will go for reconsideration.

So that I won't be disappointed as that's what I've expected all along.

Hi everyone,
My claim was stamped 24th dec 2021. I rang today and they said it reached the decision maker Monday but because I sent additional evidence of my sons pink disabled card they are waiting for that to be received. He’s still waiting on an official diagnosis and is currently going through the process for an EHCP but how likely do you think it will be that will be entitled with just his pink card at the moment? The whole waiting process is causing me anxiety 😟

feg91 · 10/03/2022 20:53

Hi all, glad to have found a 2022 post. My claim was received by them on 2nd Feb. I didn't do much research before filling the form out but sent what evidence I have. My son has ASD and developmental delay diagnosis. I know it will be some time before I hear anything plus I actually sent off additional evidence today so guessing doing this might delay it more so. Will post if I and when I hear anything so other feb stamped claims will have a rough idea.

Wilzo235 · 11/03/2022 07:54

Hi everyone been stalking this post for a few weeks now after sending my sons new dla claim off. Im just wondering do i count the day i sent the form off or the day they scan on the system as a rough guess of how long i have to wait?

Michiemoo86 · 11/03/2022 08:03

@wilzo235 you go from the date they receive it but if it was sent back in the frame time given then they back date if successful to the date you asked for the claim pack. Hope that helps ☺️

Michiemoo86 · 11/03/2022 08:04

@Wilzo235 sorry was meant to say the waiting time starts from when they scan it onto the system ☺️

Wilzo235 · 11/03/2022 08:17

Brilliant! Thankyou for clearing that up. I Haven't had the letter yet to say they have received it so am expecting a long wait.

Michiemoo86 · 11/03/2022 08:32

@Wilzo235 when did you send it?

Wilzo235 · 11/03/2022 08:38

The 24th of feb at the time i didn't know to send it tracked. I rang yesterday and they said its waiting to be scanned onto the system

Michiemoo86 · 11/03/2022 08:53

@Wilzo235 you have a long wait ahead of you then 😢 they estimate 8 weeks but they are averaging around the 12/13 week mark at the moment from when it gets scanned onto their system. Good luck with everything though and I hope you get a positive outcome especially as the waiting times can be so stressful 🤦‍♀️

Xandersmumma · 11/03/2022 08:58

Morning, has anyone been awarded yet from after the 20/12. I’m 23/12 they said was with decision maker on Monday but heard nothing.
