Hi All,

I have ASD 2 years old boy and i sent DLA form for him in 7 dec 2021. But I haven’t received any news yet. How long is usually you get awarded?

The thing is i want to put my son in 2 years old nursery but i’m not eligible for 2 years old funding. I found the nursery that i like and my son can start there after easter but they want funding from the government.

There are another way to get funded by government is via DLA. I need to get the DLA first then i can apply for funding 2 years old in nursery. Do you know how is the process for apply funding 2 years old through DLA route??

Thank you

So pleased for use and your waits over, my daughter gets HRC at the moment I’ve applied for Mobility still waiting after 18 weeks 🤯 did you send a lot of evidence? I feel like I have send sufficient amount but still nerve wrecking isn’t it cc

Amyxkx · 01/03/2022 16:44

Fantastic news x

CoffeeFirstPlease · 01/03/2022 16:56

@Blabbermouth93 and @MummyOfBoys2022 that's fantastic news! So happy to hear.

Can I ask what you claimed for? I'm claiming for undiagnosed adhd just don't know if she will qualify she's almost 6 x

NRRK28 · 01/03/2022 17:16

I called again today. Twice. Because this morning she said she cant find my claim. I was soo scared. And just now i called again. And he found my claim. How silly is it. Apparently because i dont get child benefits my claim takes longer. My claim was received on 3rd december. It should be next week he said. I’m scared now because i dont get child benefit, i’m scared they gonna reject it.

Does anyone get awarded but not claiming any other benefits included not having child benefits?

OP posts:
Amyxkx · 01/03/2022 17:30

My daughter gets HRM and we don’t claim any Benefits, silly how they do that 🤔 but should not have any affect at all you claiming for your child’s needs it’s nothing to do with any other Benefits x

Amyxkx · 01/03/2022 17:30

HRC not HRM (still waiting on mobility claim)

Blabbermouth93 · 01/03/2022 17:31

I've got my two year old on hrc for seizures after meningitis.

My son finlay is 8 he is the one I've just been awarded for , undiagnosed adhd and mental health and autism , is still going through his assessment which has in the letter they think that these will be his diagnosis , I just sent a Copy of there letters from consultants and a patient summary from the gp also they will contact the relevant people.

I however never expected my daughter to get it as people have said there child who takes seizures got rejected which is absurd but thankfully they realised the support she needs,

Meganos · 01/03/2022 18:25

Blabbernouth- did you receive a text message with decision? Or they just told you over the phone?

MummyOfBoys2022 · 01/03/2022 18:36

My son is 8 he's got undiagnosed adhd and possible autism I send letter showing that he's on a send register at school and the senco wrote in the box on the form and printed off messaged from teacher that said what sensory things they have put in place for him at school like eat defenders and other things hope that helps

MummyOfBoys2022 · 01/03/2022 18:37

I didn't receive a text message just called and they told me over the phone

Meganos · 01/03/2022 18:53

Oh ok thanks. Iam gonna call them tomorrow morning

Amyxkx · 01/03/2022 19:02

Thank you for the reply, hope your baby’s are ok it’s bloody hard work isn’t it 😟 my daughter is 5 she’s diagnosed ASD she’s non verbal and needs constant supervision, I sent any letters she’s received, diagnosis, speech and language, dietitian as she does not eat either she’s prescribed peadisure plus 😞 I also sent EHCP and EIP letter as she attends a special provision school, I’m positive she gets some sort on mobility as she already gets HRC xx

J84b04j23 · 01/03/2022 19:18

Amyxkx · 01/03/2022 19:29

Wowzer 🤯😅

Imitatingdory · 01/03/2022 19:44

NRRK28 It only takes longer in the sense DC whose parents don’t already claim CB for them and haven’t made a claim then opted out of payments don’t have a NI number already assigned to them, so they need one assigning. It has no bearing on whether the DLA claim will be rejected or not.

A child reference number, which is the same as a NI number, is generated when parents claim child benefit. It is one of the reasons why it is recommended to make a claim and opt out of payments if you earn above the threshold, so that DC automatically receive their NI number shortly before their 16th birthday. The other reason being to protect your NI credits if you don’t work.
