Hello, my forms for DLA (for my son aged 5 with ASD & GDD) were received and put on someone desks on 26th August. This Thursday will be eight weeks exactly and I’m starting to panic a little anyone want to wait with me for their replies?

I've just given them a call to ask if I'm too late to send the report and she said there's no update on waiting times, it's around 10 weeks. She says mine should be very soon as they're working on cases from 25th October but she obviously can't tell me a specific date it'll be looked at.
Hope this is helpful to anyone who was going to brave the massive waiting times to call up! X

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 07/01/2022 10:08

@Pugsnotdrugs101 my forms were received on the 26th October. I’m surprised it was this week as I thought with the bank holidays I would be waiting another two weeks. Good luck and let us know what they say!

@4andapup I forgot about the bonus. I’ll wait for the letter confirming what rate. I’m just relieved it’s over.

4andapup · 07/01/2022 10:08

@pugsnotdrugs101 just seen your above message! Now to see if we are told the same thing! X

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 07/01/2022 10:15

I just rang and he said it’s about 12 weeks and mines with a decision maker and could be another week or two! Wish they would all say the same thing! Will be 12 weeks on Monday for me :(

Polly421 · 07/01/2022 10:20

@TheLandBeforeRhyme that’s great news. You should get your award notice next week that’s what happened me. You can call find out rate as they will tell you over phone if you can’t wait. 😊 If you get tax credit or universal credits you should notify them as will be due backdated money from them also.

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 07/01/2022 10:30

@Pugsnotdrugs101 that’s so frustrating; it can’t be much longer now.

@Polly421 thank you. Do you know how long tax credits take to backdate payment?

Polly421 · 07/01/2022 10:39

@TheLandBeforeRhyme I’m not sure for tax credits. I was awarded end of November and received my back payment for universal credit New Year’s Eve so that took about 5/6 weeks but that because they had to wait for decision marker to verify that me notifying them of the change late wasn't my fault.

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 07/01/2022 23:54

@TheLandBeforeRhyme if you don’t mind me asking! Does your child have a diagnosis and what evidence did you include? I’m so convinced I’m going to get turned down, just want to be able to pay private for my daughter and get her the help she needs :(

TheLandBeforeRhyme · 08/01/2022 08:05

@Pugsnotdrugs101 DC does have a diagnosis and I sent off diagnostic reports, reports from assessments etc,

However, my friend’s child does not yet have a diagnosis but had been seen by a paediatrician and SALT ; she sent off those reports and was also awarded last year.

Diagnosis is irrelevant, it’s based on care. If you’ve sent evidence , you could still be awarded. The wait is so friustrating. Sad

Well after speaking to Sue last week she told me I’d hear from them at the end of this week . Please 🙏 be worth the long wait 🙏

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 09/01/2022 21:12

@Ljaj praying we both hear this week! I’m ringing first thing tomorrow 🙈

Ljaj · 09/01/2022 21:40

@Pugsnotdrugs101 I will pray for us both tonight and every night of the week now . It’s such a long stressful wait that we all can do without with the stress we have on a daily basis without the heavy weight of this waiting game .

Ljaj · 09/01/2022 21:40

@Pugsnotdrugs101 I am not ringing now so will look forward on hearing how your call went keep me updated .

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 09/01/2022 21:46

Ljaj · 09/01/2022 21:50

Ljaj · 09/01/2022 21:52

4andapup · 09/01/2022 21:59

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 09/01/2022 22:01

@4andapup thank you! Praying for us all! This horrible wait cannot be over soon enough!

Conspiracyornotr · 09/01/2022 22:29

Sue sounds lovely I spoke to to man and he was very rude. The wait is very stressful I agree . X

Ljaj · 10/01/2022 09:03

Good luck to you all 🙏

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 10/01/2022 09:49

Just rang and my claim is still with decision maker so could be any day now. She said they are very behind but knows they are working on claims around my date! They haven’t requested any additional info so hopefully it’s straightforward and I hear soon!

Ljaj · 10/01/2022 10:06

@Pugsnotdrugs101 that’s brilliant 🤩 not long now x

4andapup · 10/01/2022 10:15

Great news 😊 fingers crossed you hear very soon! It's such a long and frustrating wait x

Myfab421 · 10/01/2022 16:54

Just reading all of these comments and looks like I still have a few weeks to wait, it’s 8 weeks tomorrow so far and was hoping to hear this week but obviously I won’t, just takes soooo long 😩

Pugsnotdrugs101 · 10/01/2022 17:12

@Myfab421 oh bless you, such a horrible wait isn’t it! I’m on 12 weeks exactly and been with the decision worker since the 30th and I still haven’t heard. Every time I ring up I seem to be given different time scales! I just want to know either way, as I’m sure you do too! At least we are all in this together x
