Lhmym · 18/08/2021 14:10

@mumof2girls it’s really annoying ain’t it I’m gona just call next week now driving me mad

Furbymc88 · 18/08/2021 14:19

Literally decision was made on ours this morning officially 17 weeks it took , lower rate mobility and middle rate care, slightly disappointing as we have a terrible time with him through the night with supporting documents from health professionals.

Does anyone know the solution to this scenario, will his now extra lower rate mobility be backdated to when they recieved his age 5 review form back or will it start when he officially turns 5?

Mumof2girlys · 18/08/2021 14:24

@Furbymc88 did you receive a text message? I shall imagine it will be back dated if they have awarded it x

Mumof2girlys · 18/08/2021 14:28

@Lhmym I would give them a call Friday maybe as a few people have heard back with the same dates as yours on a fb group x

Furbymc88 · 18/08/2021 15:31

No text message as of yet, but I think the decision may have been made literally an hour before I phoned them, but like I said we were at 17 weeks since they got his forms back and 3 days before his initial claim was due to run out

Lhmym · 18/08/2021 16:14

@mumof2girlys wow thay had there back already and posted same time as me that is madness all I’m geting is dm are snowed under working in date order hmmm

Mumof2girlys · 18/08/2021 16:41

@Lhmym yes if you are on fb the group is call dla for children help and support, I'm glad people have heard back so quickly but also kind of gutted mine is taking so long, my form was scanned on the 25th June I called Friday and was told would hear this week, called today and a rude woman said no point calling until September as its been with a decisions maker since the 3rd July x

Lhmym · 18/08/2021 16:45

@mumof2girlys there Is a women I spoke to this morning very rude as if she just cba looking takes details don’t even look at it and says it’s not even 8 weeks why u calling Hmm

Daisydoo5 · 18/08/2021 16:56

This happened to me Monday! I had a very rude lady on the other end of the phone. Baring it mind I was on hold for an hour, for her to tell me it wasn't even 8 weeks which it states on my letter they received the 28th June. So I asked if it has even been seen by anyone and she told me point blank ive got to wait a further 2 weeks!

Mumof2girlys · 18/08/2021 17:06

It's stressful enough as it is, really think I will have to appeal or something as just seems to be my luck at the moment x

Daisydoo5 · 18/08/2021 17:16

It really is isn't it! Let hope we all get the news we need by next week 🙏 I'm going to call them back up if not, because I hate the waiting around 😂 But if I hear anything b4 then I'll let you all no on here x

Mumof2girlys · 18/08/2021 17:23

@Daisydoo5 thank you will also post my update when I get it x

Lhmym · 18/08/2021 17:29

I can’t believe it takes so long to process. I applied last year before my son had an official diagnosis. His needs were the same as they are now. But I was turned down. Now, after a 3 year assessment period, he was officially diagnosed in May with adhd abd is still undergoing ASD assessments. He will be attending a school called EOTAS (I’m in ni). His mainstream school could not cope with him. This new school is basically, education outside the actual school.
Dla received forms on 9th July. So I know it will b a while before decisions are made. I’m just cross that his needs from when I first applied without a diagnosis have not changed to when he was diagnosed. And I definitely won’t get that backdated.
He’s destroyed the house with a knife. He’s kicked a hole in his bedroom. He’s threatened the family…. And this is before the diagnosis…., but the dla deemed he was the same as every other child his age. In my opinion, he should be backdated to when I first applied. I haven’t been able to replace the door he slashed or the wall he hit his head through or the wall he put his fist through or his desk that he put his fist through.
However, at this stage I’ll take anything to help

I was told 8-12 weeks I received a letter today saying sorry you've not heard your claim will be dealt with shortly ( I've already been approved on Saturday) there's a lot of delays going on with the amount of claims

Lhmym · 19/08/2021 11:22
