@Tfutcher

I sent evidence that he has been referred for adhd and also the Connor form for adhd from the school, showing that he has issues at school with attention etc. Also stuff from the inconvenience clinic. They came back saying that his needs are different from a normal five year old. If he is not watched he will wee & pop everywhere, he will attack his siblings and us in rage. Is on the move constantly from 5am and wakes during the nights in meltdown. Is this normal for a 5 year old? Xx
How could they have declined with all that evidence?! Had your child seen a paediatrician? Xx
Mumof5babies · 06/09/2021 10:13

I wouldn't say it was normal a lot of kids get up early granted but all the other stuff wouldn't have thought that was normal. My son is 11 this week still in pull ups day and night been referred to bowel and bladder clinics he was diagnosed ASD in july can't shower himself i have to set a timer and shower him within 3 minutes. He screams the house down when i cut his nails anyone would think i was trying to kill him honesty. I've just managed to get him to have a hair cut after 3 years of begging his sensory issues are really bad. If he falls and gets a graze he cries about it for 2 to 3 weeks not exaggerating either. His anxiety is terrible too. Definitely appeal it I'm guessing they have to give out so many no's don't know how they can make a decision without seeing them 😔

Ems1991 · 06/09/2021 10:14

@PeppaPigPocoyo if its just your sort code they asked for then it is likely for data protection reason Don't panic to much as there appears to be a back log just now phone them tomorrow or maybe wed/thurs x @tfutcher you can call them and ask for a mandory decision on the ground he has behaviour problem that affect him day to day x @Alk19 sorry I didn't get back to you having a tough few days with the little one she's sick and not moved from the couch in two days it's a sin x

Mumof5babies · 06/09/2021 10:49

I called for an update its with the DM 🤷‍♀️ should hear something soon apparently 🤞

Edsgirl · 06/09/2021 11:56

@mum, it's good it's with the dm, I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, I'll wait til next week before calling. X

mum1213 · 06/09/2021 12:47

I’ve just had the text message to say my son qualifies. It’s a renewal and it ended on 3 days so they really are leaving it till the end of the reward. Just on phone now go find out what’s been rewarded x

kaylax94 · 06/09/2021 13:00

hi all,

rung dla today and my claim is with deciscion marker and should be done within a couple of days they said. does anyone know roughly how long it takes for the dla payment to come through from being with the deciscion marker?

thanks Smile

mum1213 · 06/09/2021 13:19

Mine was a few days

kaylax94 · 06/09/2021 13:53

thank you 🙂

Tfutcher · 06/09/2021 14:15

@PeppaPigPocoyo - he has now been referred to Cahms after being seen by someone else (can’t think of title) he also also under an incontience nurse and has one of those wet alarm (which is doing nothing) and also on tablets for his toileting issues

Tfutcher · 06/09/2021 14:17

They are sending me a letter and I will be going through it with a fine comb and answering every thing they said.
If they decline that we will wait for a bit as in new year at school so can’t get anymore evidence from school currently

PeppaPigPocoyo · 06/09/2021 15:15

Hello ladies, just had a text from dwp saying my daughter qualifies. On hold to find out what rate, just got my fingers crossed that it’s middle care rate otherwise UC won’t class me as her carer. Will update x

Ems1991 · 06/09/2021 15:20

@alk19 I phoned family fund to see if they need additional information as ariah now on medication they said I have already been award 300 pound voucher for learning space and should receive a letter soon to with instructions happy days that without dla decision been made so hopefully you hear back soon ...with anyluck I will be awarded dla as I sent family fund the same information as them x

Ems1991 · 06/09/2021 15:23

@PeppaPigPocoyo that's great news fingers crossed that's what rate hoping I will at least get 🤞@tfutcher I really hope you get it sorted I'm struggling to understand why it's not been approved x

PeppaPigPocoyo · 06/09/2021 15:29

Over the moon! Got awarded middle care rate until 2023!! Good luck everyone, and if you get rejected then please make sure you fight it as I read that 50% of rejected claims are overturned once appealed. This forums been so much help, honestly wish you all the best of luck xx

Mumof5babies · 06/09/2021 15:37

Great news hun at least you can relax now the waiting is over 😀

Gemconks · 06/09/2021 15:40

@peppapigpocoyo, can I ask when you sent your claim form? They received mine on the 12th of july, I had a letter on Saturday saying they're sorry they've not dealt with it yet etc... today is the 8 weeks point xx

Mumof5babies · 06/09/2021 15:41

Do you only get a text if your child qualifies or do you get one if rejected too?

PeppaPigPocoyo · 06/09/2021 15:42

Mine was received by them on 8th of July and I rang up this morning and it still wasn’t done but the guy I spoke to flagged it as urgent and it was done by this afternoon x

I think you only get a text if you’re rewarded xx
PeppaPigPocoyo · 06/09/2021 15:46

So I’m on my UC account, I’ve managed to update that I’m caring for someone, but I can’t find how to report that my daughter is receiving DLA?? Do I have to call them??

Ems1991 · 06/09/2021 15:50

@PeppaPigPocoyo I asked them make sure you ask for all backdated as it's supposed to be from the dla award Startbthe day it's backdated from and also carers allowance when backdated will make uc recalculate that last couple of months so I will kind of make up for carers been backdated

Mumof5babies · 06/09/2021 16:07

Mine was received same day as yours fingers crossed if i haven't heard anything by friday I'll give them a call. X

PeppaPigPocoyo · 06/09/2021 16:16

@Ems1991
ok so I’ve just changed it in the child section and in the caring responsibility's section. So we should be back dated the carers element and the disable child element?

CubbyNCo · 06/09/2021 16:18

My application for DLA for my 4 y/o was scanned into their system on July 9th. I had a receipt confirmation text on July 13th. I had an “apology for the delay” dated August 26th that arrived via post on Sept. 2. I’m hoping to hear their decision in the next 2 weeks.
