I didn’t include any evidence as son has been referred to paeds so awaiting appointment. I don’t have anything written. At the time of applying he was awaiting assessment by inclusion support. So I had nothing to put in.
I’ve called the GP and requested a copy of her letter for referral. I’ve also requested a cop of the inclusion support referral form. He hasn’t been seen so I dont know what more evidence to include.
I will request a mand reconsideration and send across those letters. I’ll have to wait for the DLA rejection letter so see the reasons. With how much I’d written in flabbergasted as to what their rejection reason would be.

Nmhx your problem is likely to be lack of evidence. Does DS go to nursery? If so, get some information from there.

Ems1991 · 31/08/2021 18:41

@Nmhx do you have a occupational therapist or anything even a nursery can give evidence I sent in an occupational therapist letter of support and a letter the pediatrician sent to me detailing our phone call my daughter I also sent in a nursery support letter and they filled in the bit for a 3rd party your health visitor can give evidence to I haven't yet heard back from my claim sent on the 14th July My daughter hasn't sleeped through night since she was a baby so I pushed through the pediatrician list you have to fight for everything it's hard but if you don't you will be left to just get on with it contact the pediatrician and tell them you have had to give up your job some sort of support may be available in the main time and they are the people that will support your dla claim

The nursery completed inclusion support referral. I have requested a copy of that to send when appealing.

HV has done sweet FA! She came out and redone his 2 year check and said he scored highly social/ behavioural. She wanted to complete inclusion support referral and I advised nursery was in the midst of completing at the time. When she heard that he said great! Will leave nursery to do that since they know him better and can complete form more in depth. I haven’t heard or seen from the HV since.

Nmhx · 31/08/2021 18:51

My son has never slept through the night. He gets up in the night and will be roaming g the house at 3am. I have to get up and stay awake with him until he goes bk to sleep. I’ve even caught him trying to open the front door!
It takes around 1.5 - 2 hrs to get him off to sleep at bedtime. He does not settle.
He cannot walk outside the home. He tries to break free and run off. Usually towards the road. If I try to restrain him, he goes into full meltdown. I cannot hold his hand, use reins, put him
In pushchair as he wants to walk. But he thinks it’s a game running off. We’ve had near misses where he could have been hit by a car the way he just darts off. But these things nursery cannot contest to. So I don’t know what more I can do

Lap871 · 31/08/2021 18:57

You should appeal and send through as much evidence as possible. Ask for statements from nursery about how your little one’s needs differ from other children their age. The rejection is probably due to lack of evidence. Aim to back up every statement made in the application with evidence. For example, evidence from doctors letters, nursery progress reports, speech and language and OT letters or anything you have will help. They should backdate the payments to the original application date. I really hope you can get it sorted. I’m on the verge of having to hand my notice in at work because I can’t find childcare to meet my child’s needs. It’s so frustrating…

Ems1991 · 31/08/2021 19:19

It sounds as though your problems may lie with your health visitor you can request a new one and ask for him to be check again ask to be referred to occupational therapist aswell they are the ones that help with this during your long wait for pediatrician and ask for mandory appeal and get your health visitor to write a report aswell they can do it and if they say no put pressure on them my daughter was referred at 14 months and I have had to fight my way to a pediatrician she's turning 3 this months and on Wednesday I will go and get and see the pediatrician for the first time but my health visitor referred her to ot and speech at 16 months and I have had them since February and now have the support but covid did delay ot and speech get on the phone to the health visitor and ask to be referred she can do it at her end to a lot of people said to me when I had concerns with ariah that I had to fight I thought ohh surely not but it's true is a shame for her she's the most loving beautiful girl you will meet but has lot a problems and because the lack of NHS funding there been delayed and its hard to watch...get on the phone and as bad as it sound pressure them to get your evidence x

It’s so difficult trying to choose between trying to work and be a parent. With him waking up in the night, he’s knackered at 6:30 when alarm goes off to wake up. I was waking him up and he was so grouchy, meltdowns because he doesn’t want to wash/ brush teeth: get dressed/ wear the red T-shirt/ wear the black pants, terribly behaved at nursery. Now he wakes up naturally around 7:30 and has better days at nursery.
Mumof5babies · 01/09/2021 10:09

Ask them to look at it again then if no joy go to appeal. May help if you get your HV to write a letter too

Mumof5babies · 01/09/2021 10:17

Does anyone know the difference between scanned in and registered I'm confused 😕

Edsgirl · 01/09/2021 11:42

@Mumof5babies, so glad u asked me too. X😁

Mumof5babies · 01/09/2021 11:52

I know lol mine was scanned in on the 9th of july but when I spoke to them yesterday they said it was registered and basically in a queue waiting to be allocated to someone to look at. Not had any correspondence from them since it was scanned in though not even a letter to say they have it. I sent statements in a week ago from hospital and school along with diagnosis (special delivery) they've not been scanned in as yet she said any new info can be upto 2 weeks to show hoping its all on when they look at it as she said its 8 to 10 weeks for new claim and its been 8 weeks tomorrow. Must be short of staff roll on furlough ending so their all back and things are back to normal

Lap871 · 01/09/2021 13:07

@Edsgirl @Mumof5babies I think they scan then add to the holding list, then a decision maker is allocated. However, I’ve just chased mine today and I was allocated a decision maker on 6/8 last time I rang and now I’m back into holding, so who knows what happened there. It’s such a long time to wait…

PeppaPigPocoyo · 01/09/2021 13:29

My daughters claim was received by them on the 8th of July and was given to the decision maker on the 24th of July and I rang yesterday and they still haven’t made a decision @Lap871

Mumof1girland1boy · 01/09/2021 13:32

Does anybody know how long after the decision you get your first payment

Mumof5babies · 01/09/2021 13:43

Mine was scanned and in a queue now its registered still in queue waiting to be allocated to a DM to look at it god knows how they do it

Lraf1234 · 01/09/2021 15:47

I called today and was told my son has been awarded hrc 😊 they told me the dates and everything but said there was a blank screen as to when payment will be as it has to have a random check, has anyone ever had this? How long did this take? Thanks

IMissSleep · 01/09/2021 15:52

I spoke to a lovely lady today (after 45 minutes on hold Confused)

Mine was sent August 16th received and processed August 25th. Now it’s waiting to be picked up by a decision maker. Once a decision has been made I’ll get a text or letter. She said will take 5-6 weeks.

She was lovely, must be hard for them registering the letters and having so many calls from frustrated parents.

She said it will be paid from August 25th once they’ve agreed an amount. She get me to confirm bank sort code and paediatrician name for security check.

She did say it helps make a quicker decision if there is enough evidence- I sent a doctors letter developmental paediatrician assessment letter speech and language letter and a letter from nursery.

Now I’ll wait!

That’s great news for you! What date did they receive your claim?
