Waiting times for DLA for new claim 2021

Hi the DLA received my claim on the 1st April 21. Does anyone know the current waiting times. Thanks

Universal credit are a joke saying I reported my son dla late are u joking I reported it to you day I got my desision so why hell are thay going if the date dla are awarding it from I didn’t get a desison untill 24th of aug so how I reported it late uc told me what date have dla awarded from I said 7th of June but thay only made desison on 24th of aug how was I to know any sooner I wasn’t so how’s that my fault

Think uc need to sort heads out dla backdated it from 7th desison made on 24th so how is that late excuse me any one in right mind would know that that’s not late if I phoned you and told u on same day desison was made omg talk about annoyed trying to make out im in wrong how is that even possiable you can not tell uc a date when bfore 24th dla had not even made a desison this half wit is clearly going of the backdated date omg

It goes from the day you rang for the form if you have returned it in the 6 weeks period other wise day they recieved it if you downloaded it or was late

I'd ring again either Friday or next week as mine was the same date as yours and on Saturday they text saying my son can have dla so you should know soon I would say

Well i sent my sons renewal off and received 28th of may. It runs out next thursday and 13/14 weeks in i still don’t have a decision. No matter how many times i ring they say in a holding queue and it’s so frustrating as i loose carers if they haven’t done it by next thursday and it’s looking unlikely. Anyone else renewing?

@mum1213 I'm in the same boat as you. Received my renewal the 6th June and it's not even looked at yet. My carers ran out last week. It's so frustrating when first time claimants have been seen quicker but my daughters needs haven't changed and ive sent off all the supporting evidence and still waiting.
I also sent off a first time application for my other child at the same time abs that's not been looked at either but I can understand her delay more while they assess her needs. The renewal is really annoying me though as it impacts on other things by not being done.

Yes that was the same time as me I will give them a ring Friday if i haven't heard by then hopefully I will fingers crossed thanks hun x

@leslie77 i can’t believe they have let your carers run out that’s my biggest worry. I’d be back on the phone to them they always say they won’t do that. can’t they push it through now? what are they saying?

Has anyone applied for a re-consideration/ change of circumstances? Just wondering on the wait times and if it’s different…I currently get MRC for my 3yo, but have asked for a re-consideration as I think we should get HRC

@mum1213 they're saying that there is nothing they can do. I'm on the phone every week and always the same answer. They "hope" to have the DLA claim sorted by the time my next payment is due (two weeks) but can't guarantee it. Either way the carers ran out a couple of days after the DLA claim ended. It's so frustrating.

When did you tell universal credit mines still with a decision maker I told them 16th august not heard anything yet my friend got hers backdated so I'd appeal

@leslie77 when does your dla claim run out? mine is 9th sept i’ve just rang again to be told they won’t let it run out. let’s see. My carers runs out 14th sept

Hello, they received my sons renewal on the same day as yours. He’s don’t run out until the 2nd October, they have told me it’s in the holding queue and they won’t make a decision until the week it’s due to end! I hope you hear back soon x

@Mummyemx yes mine is at that week point now so they told me to ring back monday and hopefully a decision is made. it’s awful waiting rhis late isn’t it

@mum1213 DLA ran out 19th Aug and carers ran out 24th Aug.

Mine was sent 7th they got it 8th scanned in on 9th. She told me this morning its registered but not allocated hoping it won't be too long as I'm referred to another hospital now with my son. She did say that new claims are taking 8 to 10 weeks si hoping mid sept. They've not scanned all the stuff i sent special delivery last week yet she said sometimes they don't see it scanned it for upto 2 weeks just hoping they have it all before its looked at saves waiting for reports from hospital and school as I've sent them in myself 🤞. Think their also working with reduced staff still which doesn't help

@Alk19 I told them on 24th same day he was awarded but I think what there doing is going on the date that dla awarded from so in there eyes there saying I reported it 2 month late thay haveing a laught how can it be late when desision was not made untill 24th aug how am I late telling them when didn’t no bfore that I really don’t have a crystal ball for the dwp lol tho uc much think I do xlol

@Lhmym oh god I'm worrying now as I told them on the 16th august and still not heard :( yeah we can't tell them when we don't even know cause if they weren't awarded we'd end up in debt with them and then it'll be a totally different ball game!

@leslie77 ong so they are lying then? they will let it run out? that’s utterly disgusting ring them back ring now and say it’s ran out 2 plus weeks ago. that’s worrying me now as they said they won’t let it run out

I called today and my claim for my 3 year old was looked at yesterday and rejected.guy said I’d get a letter outlining why. I’m fuming!
I’ve had to stop work to look after my boy full time. I’m struggling both physically and financially and to have this rejected has rattled me.
I have no idea how much more I could t have written.

@Nmhx thats very sad, so sorry its very frustrating when they reject after everything we go through, did you have a lot of evidence why have they rejected? did they tell you over the phone
