DLA received my claim on 28th July . I'm getting impatient now...

MyDcAreMarvel · 29/08/2021 12:21

@Suzysusie30 why? It’s been four weeks, eight weeks is the minimum. Will most likely be mid October when it’s completed.

Alk19 · 29/08/2021 12:33

@TryingForOurSecondxx

I am sending my claim out tomorrow with no evidence either! My son is 2 and has been referred for an ASD assessment, speech and language therapy, audiology screening and for a paediatrician but I have no evidence to show any of this. I’m just hoping they can find this evidence?
I never sent of for it until I had these reports my health visitor said it would more than likely get rejected so young with no evidence but it's worth a go sounds like your at the very start of your journey I hope all goes well X
Mumof5babies · 29/08/2021 13:05

I'm having to pay £140 in taxi fares a month to get my son to school and back safely. As i don't drive . He was funded for a month by the LA but they have stopped helping me out. I've had to give up work so finicialy we are sinking. Hence my impatience. BEFORE you say it, Yes I know most of us are all I need of the extra money.

Suzysusie30 · 30/08/2021 03:45

@MyDcAreMarvel . Above

10brokengreenbottles · 30/08/2021 10:24

Suzy you are entitled to transport, it isn't the LA "helping you out", it is their statutory duty. If the LA have refused you can appeal, SENTAS can help with transport appeals.

Lhmyn one of the criteria you have to satisfy to become exempt from the bedroom tax is being in receipt of DLA, so that will be why telling them ages ago didn't make a difference.

Edsgirl · 30/08/2021 10:33

'@10brokengreenbottles,thanks hunni,ill check that out.

MyDcAreMarvel · 30/08/2021 22:01

@Suzysusie30 I understand why you are upset but it’s not the dwp you should be annoyed at, it’s the LA. They are two separate issues, your ds should be getting transport provided to and from school if he can’t use public transport.
