I rung them tuesday as still not had anything i read you usually get a letter within 2 weeks of them receiving forms or a message but not had either. Anyway i rang for an address because i had all school reports and hospital reports with his ASD diagnosis sent out to me so thought I'd send them special delivery to them too may save them time waiting for specialists getting back to them and schools to open maybe. He's been referred for blood tests and bowel biopsies next from the bowel clinic do you think this is something they need to know or should i wait for appointments coming. He's 11 in 3 weeks now on the spectrum has no control over his bladder He's been referred somewhere else for that he has no feeling in his bottom so doesn't know when he needs to go so in pull ups day and night i have to change him as he can't do it himself he can't even shower himself. It's hard work

Mumof5babies · 27/08/2021 19:59

Have you not had a text or letter yet either?

Nmhx · 27/08/2021 23:10

@Sadieosull

I called again today, my claim that was received on 28th June was accepted yesterday for MRC, without diagnosis just a letter from the school. Over the moon as I can now focus on his further care without the stress of losing our household income. Thank you everyone for your advice as I will be taking this all further
Fantastic news! Glad you’ve finally had a decision!

Sounds like you really have your hands full! When you spoke to DWP we’re you advised as to whether they’d received your form or not? I received confirmation letter 6 weeks after I posted the form bk. the letter was dated 2 weeks prior. Allegedly there is a postal delay.

10brokengreenbottles · 28/08/2021 12:42

Edsgirl have you checked to see if you are eligible to have your travel expenses reimbursed? Here is a link about it.

Has anyone successfully applied with no professional evidence? My DS is on the waiting list for assessment for ASD and I am sending my forms off on Monday . The only information I have is a letter stating he’s been accepted on to the waiting list.

I’m using the cerebra guide to fill in the forms so I’m confident I’m giving plenty of information about his problems.

Would this be enough? I won’t get any reports until he’s assessed.

Midlandsmum23 · 28/08/2021 19:15

@CockADoodleDuuuhhh Does your DS have any school reports that document his difficulties? Also, is he on the SEN register at his school? If so, the school will have a duty to set him new targets every term and share these with you in the form of a provision map. Who made the referral for his ASD assessment? If it was a professional, do you have a copy of the referral that you could send to back up your DLA claim? It may also be worth requesting an EHCP assessment. Sorry for all of the questions! Any evidence from professionals will definitely strengthen your case.

Mumof5babies · 28/08/2021 20:12

I sent it back 8 weeks this weds all i know is its been scanned into the system on the 8th Jul i was told on the phone that they had until 3rd sept. Didn't say if it was with anyone or anything though. I've sent his statement along with docs and school reports now too special delivery going to see if they've scanned them in too on tuesday. I did send special delivery paid envelope for them to send me them back too hope they have my printer broke so couldn't copy all of it only managed 4 pages xx

CockADoodleDuuuhhh · 28/08/2021 21:57

@Midlandsmum23 I have no school reports or such like. DS was referred by the GP as I have some worries he may have ASD like his brother. School have no concerns (but they also have none with his brother who is diagnosed). It’s unlikely I’ll get any reports until he is assessed. I only have the letter stating he’s been accepted on to the waiting list. Is it worth even bothering to claim at this point?

TryingForOurSecondxx · 29/08/2021 07:01

I am sending my claim out tomorrow with no evidence either! My son is 2 and has been referred for an ASD assessment, speech and language therapy, audiology screening and for a paediatrician but I have no evidence to show any of this. I’m just hoping they can find this evidence?

TryingForOurSecondxx · 29/08/2021 07:02

To a paediatrician**
