saboor123 · 24/08/2021 09:09

@leslie77 thats really bad that your claim has finished... if you dont mind me asking how soon after your claim finishing did you send in form? my sons claim is finishing in december and I am worrying im leaving it too late as I wanted ton send it 12 weeks before will that be enough time? thankyou

Lraf1234 · 24/08/2021 09:17

I just called and got straight through, my sons claim will be 8 weeks tomorrow and the lady I spoke to said it’s with the relevant people?? And to expect the wait to be 8-12 weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️

Amanda2304 · 24/08/2021 09:19

@leslie77 I was in the same boat my sons deadline renewal date was the 17th August, I sent his forms off on the 6th of August signed delivery and they received them on the 9th. On the 17th deadline day I got a 2 week payment they owed and I thought I was going have to wait weeks for it to be sorted out. My carers didn't go in yesterday they had stopped that, so I rang dla to ask if they had received the paperwork, and the the lady on the phone told be yes and the decition to renew was made last week and he's been awarded same rate until 2026, she said it was pushed through as an emergency as the deadline date was close, but apparently they are not looking at the renewals until the week or two before it ends regardless of when you've sent the paperwork back. I explained that I never got my carers paid yesterday and she told me ring them, I rang them and the lady on the phone blamed dla for not informing them that the claim had been renewed and it showed up on her system that it had been, she said she would pass it on to someone to take a look at and get my payments restarted as normal rather than having to reclaim again, if I haven't heard anything by Friday about it I'm to ring back.

Lhmym · 24/08/2021 09:33

I’m Gina give them a ring them now see what thay say I guess it be same old blah it’s been 8 week today but there be some old rubbish again

Mummyto2boys22 · 24/08/2021 10:31

So no texts? I’m just on hold to see if a decision has been made for my claim

Lhmym · 24/08/2021 10:32

I’m confused my son is still 2024 but he will be 16 2023

Lhmym · 24/08/2021 10:32

Till not still

Amanda2304 · 24/08/2021 10:44

@lhmym my sons was the same his award is till 2026 he will turn 16 in 2025, I think it's to make sure the transition to pip is covered appropriately as it can take 8 months sometimes as they have to organise medical face to face etc and you continue to receive payments until pip decition is made, so they give alot of leway time for this, however if his pip claim is decided before the date and he's refused the payments will stop regardless of the year they have said they will too, if that makes sense.

Lhmym · 24/08/2021 10:48

@Amanda2304 thanks hun ye that makes sence I was thinking same as u stated u no about when thay transition over to pip it’s that leaway while awaiting pip pip is a night mare talking from personal experience

Mummy2boys1520 · 24/08/2021 10:54

@Mummyto2boys22 I didn't receive any text I phoned them and they said the decision had just been made have you managed to get through to them yet

Mummyto2boys22 · 24/08/2021 10:56

@Mummy2boys1520 no still on hold 35 minutes it’s been lol

Mummy2boys1520 · 24/08/2021 10:57

@Lhmym it looks like we was. Congratulations I'm glad we finally have the decision

Amanda2304 · 24/08/2021 10:57

@lhmym yh I know I'm glad I can breathe for at least 4 years lol, my mum has just gone through it with my 2 younger siblings, both autistic, my sisters claim was initially refused after the face 2 face assessment, which was a joke, so my mum did a Mr and it got given straight away, she knew from the letter they sent back they hadn't even read the medical forms and the forms she filled in they just tried fobbing her off, so was glad she got it in the end, she's still going through my brothers apparently they are well behind in sorting pip but luckily she's still receiving payments for him as of yet, he's had a video face 2 face and it's now waiting for it all to be decided on now which the lady said could take a further 3 months she's already been waiting since February.

Lhmym · 24/08/2021 11:03

@Amanda2304 thay don’t rush pip thay really are a law to them selfs the forms are worse then dla ones at lest now am not chasing my son claim was geting sick of rude call handerlers and there unsympathetic attitude

Mummy2boys1520 · 24/08/2021 11:08

@Mummyto2boys22 I was on the phone for just under an hour I hope you get your decision today as well
