Waiting times for DLA for new claim 2021

Hi the DLA received my claim on the 1st April 21. Does anyone know the current waiting times. Thanks

I have just rang for an update my son claim is now with the dm oh god here goes am waiting for this rejection said if I haven’t herd by end of next week to call but the 8 weeks is up tomorrow

@Mummy2boys1520 try to remain positive others have put the same on here that they haven’t made a decision and later that day they have received a text saying they have qualified- agreed it’s rubbish that others have heard from the same day as ours

Just got through myself- no decision as yet but is with decision maker the lady just said it should be fairly soon- and that they usually say around the 8 week mark not helpful

@Mummyto2boys22 I think it was more he was trying to tell me 8 weeks was tomorrow which it isn't it's like if your trying to fob me off try with something better

@Mummy2boys1520 I know I’m starting to think that about the no- there’s not a lot of evidence with mine to go through I’m just hoping in next couple of days we both hear something

@Mummyto2boys22 it is bad that they make us feel like this. I think you'll be fine with what you have sent it shows he need more help. I think I will call back tonight as well before they close if I haven't heard anything

@Mummy2boys1520 I think with the person saying to you they have until the 24th may mean that by tomorrow you will have heard maybe- it can’t harm ringing up again

@Mummyto2boys22 I dunno just feels like a fob of to me and then he was like you should have been told you would here is a couple of days because it can be with the decision maker for at least two week as it's goes in another que with them. I just hate the mixed messages from everyone

I rang today, the person I spoken to told me its 8 weeks this week but unless I cant count its 9 weeks this weeks 🤷‍♀️ 28th June it was scanned. But she told me to phone back in a couple of days. I hate having mixed signals i rang Thursday last week for someone to tell me I should have a decision the end of last week and nothing 😪

8 weeks is this week but in there eyes it’s not what planet are thay from at all tell us all be delt with by 8 weeks to told it’s not 8 weeks yet clearly it is

I think what does help is some people have had there decision and they was same day or some have even been after and we are still waiting and we are all the same time I just hope we hear soon

They mustn't count the first week they receive it which makes its more better because i was a week infront with my calculations 🤣 & @mummy2boys1520 its exactly that! I think we will all hear back the end of the week 🤞 im phoning Wednesday/Thursday for an update. They properly shut the office early Friday because I'm sure its Bank Holiday Monday next week? X

@Daisydoo5 I'm gonna keep calling every day now especially as it has been 8 weeks now and yes it is a bank holiday this Monday that will be the next excuse we will get the reason why we won't hear

I called to inform them of a change of number. The lady said they’re taking the full 8 weeks so I should hear soon, even though today is 8 weeks so fingers crossed this week we all hear as seems they all got scanned the same day.

Im sending my sons first form in today. How do we know when the 8 week countdown starts? Dreading it, no idea what to expect. Sorry that you are all still waiting on a decision

Told me 8 week is just a guardline but to give it a few more weeks and call back so why thay say call back when it’s been 8 weeks

I'm now 11 weeks tomorrow since it was scanned into the system and still being told it's not been looked at and will be weeks yet.
Can anyone tell me when you got a text saying you were entitled did it give the child's NI number or name as I'm waiting for an renewal and a first time claim to be looked at so might not know who's been granted/denied it if it's just a general text.

Info in the text- I read the renewals are taking ages as they’re doing them by date so if it’s not running out within the next week I can’t imagine they will look at that

The renewal was for an award which ran out last week. I've now lost my carers allowence and will have to sort that when she's hopefully given a new award 🙁

No it doesn't state any information my text was ' your child qualifies for dla' you don't have to do anything basically x
