Waiting times for DLA for new claim 2021

Hi the DLA received my claim on the 1st April 21. Does anyone know the current waiting times. Thanks

@10brokengreenbottles it asks for the child benefit number on the form- which I left blank as I don’t know it- which is what I was asking- Im aware the reference number/ NI Is different from that

Mummy2boys1520 posted her DS didn't have a NI number. I explained he did, she just didn't know it yet, that it is also know as the child reference number, and it is allocated when you apply for child benefit.

You then posted you didn't know your DC's NI number or child benefit number, and since we were talking about NI numbers/child reference numbers and the child benefit number relates to your details not your DC's, I assumed you were confusing the child benefit number with the child reference number so I explained the difference. If that's not the case that's good, but many people do confuse the two.

When asking about your child's details question 4 of the claim form asks for the child reference number (aka NI number) if known. When asking about your details question 74 asks for the child benefit number.

Recived letter just now we are sorry we have not given you a decision on your child’s claim for dla we will deal with your claim as quickly as we can do not worry you will not lose money we will write to you again as soon as can with more information later dated 16th aug I’m guessing it’s just a standerd letter every one gets

@Lhmym yeah I got one yesterday and another parent had received one yesterday with the same date as me

Nope nowt just a letter to say sorry we still not made a decision

@Mummy2boys1520 not sure if people receive texts on a Sunday day however my letter that I received yesterday was dated 15th august which was a Sunday so hopefully they are working

When I rang yesterday the lady said there working at the week end the dm just phone not available to the public on week end

@Daisydoo5 I’m 28th June too and not heard anything I thought I would have received a text today but haven’t

I sent my claim on the 17th June, I called on the 30th to make sure it reached them and he said it was scanned on the 28th June.
Had a letter a little later to say the same.
Then I got a txt on the 9th July to say they have received it. Then yesterday a letter dated 15 August saying they are sorry for the delay in making a decision. Still waiting 🤷‍♀️😬..

I was gona call tomorrow but then am thinking there just gona tell me same old it’s waiting to be look at so feel be Waiste of time even tho my impatient side will take over lol

@Lhmym I'm calling them tomorrow as well been as it will be 8 weeks stressed out I just wanna know

I feel same as you guys why say 8 week and then get some old thing said and then get told when ring it’s taking between 8 and 11 weeks that’s what I got told last week 8 and 11 I said but people after me have herd it contrediction of the we do it in date I printed out a mr yesterday cos I got a sticky feeling it’s gona come to that I no I sent loads of info but it can not be that cos thay still haven’t looked at it not even been given to any one to look at

On form it ask if child as iep any one no why thay ask this my son does he as ehcp iep and one to one in class room as well as being in special educational needs school an geting funding so he’s not excluded he’s tryed mainstream thay couldn’t as thay say cope let him go there saying oh yes we can help him blah blah next thing thay slug him out had to have an emergency education meeting to find him a special educational needs school been excluded from there few times but not now this funding is In place

They ask because it shows evidence of need.

Why did I not think of that my self oh my just ignore me been a longggg day

Just rang up this morning and he was like they have until the 24th to make a decision I was like no 8 weeks was up today. And then he was like it's still with the decision maker and they haven't made the decision yet call back at the end of the week if you haven't heard anything. Are they joking now especially when people have already have there decision and they sent there information the same day as me. I'm really starting to think they are just going to say no now
