They received on the 28th june. I called this morning they said it’s with decision maker and now got a text to say I qualify. The man on the phone said it was sent to the decision maker this Morning. So it only took a few hours. Hope rest of u get news soon

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 16:23

@Hitheremumof4 yeah I sent loads of stuff as well. School reports, family support work safety plan as he can't be left alone. The letter from hospital as his on waiting list for autism assessment. And his accepted letter to his specialist school he starts September so I'm hoping mine will be sorted by the weekend fingers crossed just worry's me the waiting

Mummyto2boys22 · 20/08/2021 16:57

All I sent was the form EHCP and ehc1 from his current specialist setting and the school senco filled out the statement bit worrying now it’s not enough

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 17:03

@Mummyto2boys22 I think that's more the. Enough the fact your child has a ECHP shows there are more needs then a normal child of his age

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 17:03

@Mummyto2boys22 EHCP*

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 17:06

I just called again due to me being worried that some people was hearing and to ask what happens if they need more evidence and this guy I spoke to this time told me I'll here by the end of next week and just because it's with the decision maker doesn't mean anything as they still have a que so now I'm confused because the lady i spoke to this morning told me that it's with them so I'll here within a couple of days

Lhmym · 20/08/2021 17:14

@Mummy2boys1520 again more mixed messages from them

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 17:19

@Lhmym it not even like it was days apart this was on the same day I've been told two different things

Lhmym · 20/08/2021 17:21

@Mummy2boys1520 I can belive it it’s a night mare I’m just trying to get hold of them to get an email adress or fax number to send them some more stuff

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 17:23

@Lhmym when I asked about sending more stuff which I did on two occasions they said only way I could send it was post it to them I had to put my sons full name date of birth and my national insurance number so they could link it to his claim

MyDcAreMarvel · 20/08/2021 17:32

@Lhmym yes you have to post in extra info. @Mummy2boys1520 it’s not your NI you put the child’s NI or their date of birth.

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 17:37

@MyDcAreMarvel it is my national insurance number because my son doesn't have one and that's what they told me to put so I did that and they linked it and when I call up they always as me what my NI number is because it on the claim form to identify me

Lhmym · 20/08/2021 17:49

@Mummy2boys1520 just got fax number of a nice lady Grin

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 17:51

@Lhmym things crossed hopefully you'll here soon

10brokengreenbottles · 20/08/2021 18:15

Your son will have a national insurance number you just won't know it until you receive the decision letter. On the DLA application form when it asks for the child reference number (if known) it is their NI number.

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 18:29

@10brokengreenbottles I didn't think you could get a national insurance number until you was 16 but okay I just did what they told me to and never had a problem I'll keep a look out on the form when they send it

Mummyto2boys22 · 20/08/2021 18:36

@Mummy2boys1520 try not to worry I think we’ll
Get a text tomorrow- think the people you get through to under promise things and make us think it will be ages when really the deadline is Monday so we should hear tomorrow or Monday- wishful
Thinking

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 18:41

@Mummyto2boys22 definitely especially when everyone you speak to have a different time scale and what actually will happen. Fingers crossed for you as well hopefully we will here tomorrow been as some people have heard today who had the same day as us

10brokengreenbottles · 20/08/2021 18:45

A child reference number (which is the same as their NI number) is generated when you submit a child benefit claim. It is one of the reasons why it is recommended to make a claim and opt out of payments if you earn above the threshold, so that your child automatically receives their NI number shortly before their 16th birthday - the other reason being to protect your NI credits if one of you doesn't work.

See this link.

10brokengreenbottles · 20/08/2021 19:49

To clarify a CRN/NI number is generated when you make a child benefit claim but bar a couple of exceptions, such as DLA claims, you/DC don't get informed until just before their 16th birthday.

Mummyto2boys22 · 20/08/2021 21:07

I don’t know my child’s NI number nor the child benefit number and couldn’t get it does this matter? Surely they can link child benefit number with my NI anyway

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 21:16

@Mummyto2boys22 that's why I think they always ask me what my ni number is as I didn't give them my sons child benefit number either. I think we will be fine

Mummyto2boys22 · 20/08/2021 21:27

@Mummy2boys1520 yeah we will think I’m just over thinking things now hopefully tomorrow’s the day for the both of us

Mummy2boys1520 · 20/08/2021 21:33

@Mummyto2boys22 I’m the same I start over thinking everything. Yes hopefully we will here tomorrow. Got my fingers and toes crossed

10brokengreenbottles · 20/08/2021 21:44

It's not the child benefit number (CHB followed by 8 numbers then 2 letters), it is the child reference number (2 letters, 6 numbers then 1 letter), they are different things. The CRN (also known as their NI number) is allocated when you apply for child benefit.

If this is your first claim you won't know it yet as you won't have had any other correspondence with it on, which is why the claim form states "if known" by that question. As I said in my earlier post, you won't know it but it will be on the decision letter. Then you will know it when it comes to renewals etc.
