To think it is ridiculous there is no help for us

All four dcs have disabilities/other health problems.

All four receive dla, 2 receive higher rates for both components.

Recently had a CAF referral done, initially we were told we would get 3 hours respite a week, then the sw manager said no we didn't qualify for that scheme.
We were told the early intervention team couldn't help us and we we referred to children with disabilities team.

CWD team said no, they would not take on our case as none of dcs have learning difficulties.

Sw then referred to the children in need team, they said they would not take the case on as dcs have lifelong conditions and they only deal with short term conditions whereas CWD deal with long term (but only if there's a recognised learning problem as well).

Sw is closing our case, thes nothing she can do and no help she can offer.

I can't believe we are stuck in between each SS team and none of them can offer us any help or support.

Maryz I think that no one has said anything is telling in various ways.

So it's pretty clear where you stand when you make remarks like that, isn't it Amberleaf?

I just hope the decent people down here continue to ignore this thread and deny these people their twisted delight at continuing to piss people off.

This thread was dropping nicely down the index into oblivion until somebody felt they had to come back on to bat yet another insult my way.

AmberLeaf · 13/02/2014 18:05

And then you come on here again this evening and single me out for citicism conveniently ihnoring the others who told me to 'fuck off

Yet it is your posts that have been deleted.

Do you remember swearing, calling people cunts last night?

AmberLeaf · 13/02/2014 18:08

You are unbelievable.

You were the one insulting people, but your posts have been deleted now so...

This is Shock! I used to post on SN a lot (under a name change) and as our needs have changed I don't anymore. This is not how I remember it at all, although I've seen threads over the last few months that mention a change of tone in the topic.

Wetaugust, why so aggressive? I get that you feel you were taken out of context, but your post that people have an issue with does read offensively. Now, if that was not your intention, why not just say that. Most people will have come across unintentionally badly at some point.

Hedgehog, you are making headway, even by applying for assessment, so well done for that. I'm sure that you are, but my advice is to write everything down reDD2, get the paper trail in place now. I assume she is under a community paediatrician? When we applied for DS2' statement where the medical issues were as significant as his educational ones our paed was brilliant in her reporting. So whilst we still had supporting letters from S&L, hearing services etc the pead was the only one for the medical side. Maybe go down that route rather than the diabetes nurse?

Also do keep telling yourself when you are at your most worried about DD2 that the school nor her teachers are going to want her to become unwell. I suspect they will he on high alert with her. I've found that my sons teachers have been very vigilant with regards to his medical needs.

Chin up & keep on keeping on. Smile

You really should take a good long look at yourselves - you people who think it's OK to come along and start persecuting other posters who don't share your views.

I should have expected this to happen having read the torrent of abuse that was heaped on Rhubarb and Zombie recently.

Mission accomplished.

Bye bye

Have a lovely ineffectual time with your big box of tissues.

Oh the irony.

wetaugust

Your recent posts read nothing like your usual style, to the point where I am wondering if someone is impersonating you. Please either talk to someone in RL or pm one of the forum members you feel closer too. I'm happy to provide a listening ear, as people did that for me last summer when I hit breaking point.

claw2 · 13/02/2014 18:24

Wow how did we reach this point.

In Wet's defence. I have to say I do think that Wet was trying to give practical advice rather than be offensive, before this all kicked off

I think she was giving practical advice too & then went too far, bringing a clearly held grudge into the equation. I read the thread with the deleted posts in earlier today & was truly shocked.
Wet was very kind to me on a thread a few years ago, yes very straight talking but still kind. This is why this feels all wrong.

wetaugust · 13/02/2014 18:33

Right up until she said that people who give up because they can't cope are letting their children down.

There you go again mis-quoting me.

I didn't read Wet's post like that. I read it as not giving up and being tenacious, as people in authority do give inaccurate info and try to fob you off and to complain etc, etc.

Ledaire · 13/02/2014 18:41

This is all very odd. And most unfair to Maryz.
