Good to here dd1 has had a good week and is settling in well at her new school. Sorry to hear dd2 is struggling.

Sorry about your FIL too. These family situations are always hard to negotiate and such a massive source of stress and upset.

I have had the week from hell. Every day a new medical appointment or meeting and every day another waste of everybody's time. Until today when it all went completely crazy re ds1's statement/school/LEA and we are suddenly back in tribunal territory with me stressed to the max, when I had foolishly thought we were done with that, at least until AR.

Oh - and I'm still on crutches and in pain whilst doing up to 4 school-runs a day.

I fully intend to indulge in much chocolate consolation this evening, despite being desperate to lose the stone I've regained.

I could do with a night out too, but instead dh has two booked next week, as he's changing jobs and been persuaded to have a leaving do.

Ds1 has actually had a really good week...win a prize for an art comp and is doing well at school :)
Ds2 on the other hand....da2 is nt afaik but we are having a really tricky time with him ATM...he has been poorly not cp but a viral rash/lumps which are a it odd. After going back to ore school quite happily e first week he now has a full meltdown each morning and I leave him Sibiu and calling for me :(
I am so miserable about it and worrying too as this is how it started with ds1 :(
I got it so so wrong that time, am so worried I will will again :(
It's his b day party in Sunday and then dh is going to the states in weds til the following thurs :( :(
I have been recovering from a stomach bug since sun/mon...

Is there any chance of a night out soon?...I actually have one planned for next Friday (can't remember the last time) I haven't been able to get anyone to look after DS as his usual carer has been off sick.

Well things here are up and down.My dad's been in hospital,so I've been driving a fair bit.I've got several jobs and one of them can be very stressful...and it has been this week !DS seems to be going backward with the toilet thing since he's been back at school. I don't know why as I know he is taken.He's happy though and that is the main thing

If it helps there are two little boys at dd's nursery who scream blue murder when their Mum's leave in the morning. I was there late one day - just a few minutes after the other mums and by the time they'd got through the gates both boys were happily playing cars. It's often just the parting that's so hard, once you're out of sight they settle down and enjoy themselves.

What's the odd rash like? Just asking because ds1 had one when he was little that the drs couldn't identify and it turned out to be scarlett fever. First couple of GPs were completely stumped, then he saw an older GP who had much more experience and he recognised it straight away. Ds didn't get the distinctive red face that gives the illness it's name, so the first doctors didn't even consider it. It makes them feel so poorly and exhausted and needs a couple of rounds of strong antibiotics to get rid of it.

Hi Into, sounds like a mixed week for you. Glad ds is happy at school though. Could the toilet training issues just be down transition back to school? Hopefully they'll settle down as he get's back into the swing of things.

Moose..ds2 has lumps that are hard to the touch, not many but on his arms and legs.
Most odd.
He had a cold/coughlast week and the gp thinks its viral related.
Ds1 used to get awful viral rashes when he was small...but they didn't really look like this either....sigh.
Dont think the gp knew what it was tbh.
I am so dreading dh going away...trying to be supportive but we are missing out in a wedding reception, a church function and dh is missing a really important open morning at ds1s middle school for next year :(
I will have to go in my own.

DS with PDA had his first week of afternoons in Year R and it was just like preschool - horrendous fight to get him in each day, then calmed down and enjoyed himself once the doors were shut- but with the joy of a whole morning's anticipation tying my stomach and heart in knots each day. Next week he will do mornings, might be better, might just be a bigger audience. Just so tired in the heart.

Yes.I'm hoping it is just the transition and all the distractions of school.

Lisa, good that DD1 is doing well. Is DD2 at a different school to DD1? Hopefully they'll start to 'get' her and spot triggers. Assemblies are often flash points, busy and over stimulating yet still requiring quiet and controlled DC!

Moose, been lurking on your statementing issues thread but not a lot of advice to give.

Badvoc, sorry to hear DS2 is causing you some anxiety. It's the role of siblings to make us worry over every last behaviour.

Into, my DS always went backwards with toilet training at the start of the year. There's so much much new stuff to get their heads around that it takes up all their processing power, I reckon.

DS2 had a 24 heart monitor this week following his seizure last Dec! Good to know the NHS is as efficient as ever. Will get results in a few weeks. He's had a viral wheeze for weeks now so I think he may be asthmatic. He's had steroids and a reliever inhaler prescribed.

Y8 seems to be going well, he's settled back into school fine, not that he ever tells me anything. His 'friend' has decided that the lunchtime club in learning skills isn't his thing, though. I think I'm more sad than DS!

Just to make you jealous, my divorce diet is going really well and I've now lost 3 1/2 stone and am no longer overweight, it's official. In fact, yesterday I weighed 9 st 13 3/4lbs for the first time in over 20 years. So gin and slimline for me!

Crossed with you, silk. The good thing is that he enjoyed it once he got into it. Mornings will be better, 3 hours rather than 2? Is he getting 1:1, I forget?

SilkStalkings, at least you won't have so long to fret about it before you get there next week. It's good that he's enjoying himself once you can get him there, but it must be so hard knowing you have that fight to face every day. Hopefully it will ease off as he get's more used to it?

'Tired in the heart' is the perfect way to describe a feeling that is all too common for us all.

Ellenjane, yes we have sent dd1 to a private small school as what little support she got wasn't helping but what she needed was a small class with children that are fairly clam and teachers that have time for her and her interests and skills.
Dd2 is still in state school because she has a lot of behaviours that private school wouldn't take on and still has a huge amount of input that we can't do without.

Well done on the weightloss Ellen. I lost just under 4 between June last year and March this year, but have gained over a stone of that back through ill health, immobilisation and a massive willpower failure concerning chocolate.

I started doing alternate fasting last week and blooming gained 2.5 lbs. Decided it was doing it off the back of my enforced weeks of the porridge diet and have now decided to eat normally for a few weeks before trying again, as my poor body probably doesn't know which way is up.

Sheelah, sounds like things are going well for you - long may it continue. Enjoy your week off.

Badvoc, not Scarlett Fever then as the bumps are hard and sharp/sandpapery, but not what you'd describe as large. Is it on the tops/backs of his arms and legs? Keratosis Pillaris? Molloscum? There are a few old threads on MN if you search asking about similar symptoms after a coldy/virus and no-one ever seems to know the answer. Ds1 used to get viral rashes quite regularly when he was a toddler, but they were always fine pimply ones, rather than big lumps.

headache kicked in earlier...had SW here today and discussing so much has me wound up, knackered and is seriously hurting my brain now!

Too much going on with us at mo...can't explain much of it though...too exhausted and done in today.

Sympathies on the headache. I resorted to half a dose of prescription codeine to deal with mine. Wouldn't have made it through the day without it. I can't take a whole dose as they made me hallucinate earlier this week!

Sorry you are having such a tough time at the moment, we can sit together in the chocolate nibbling corner. (I don't actually have any chocolate in the house, but will be sending dh on a mercy mission when he gets home and I promise I'll share then.)

I haven't got any choc! Wail.....

We'll have to make do with virtual chocolate for now Badvoc.

Can recommend the divorce diet, but you must actually need a divorce for it to work. All joking aside, it's been a silver lining in a rather dark cloud but I look years younger and will hopefully live longer if I can keep it off.
