I now have a big bag of revels, tipped into a bowl with a bag of cadbury caramel buttons. Am willing to share - you can have the peanuts. Wink

whatthewhatthebleep · 21/09/2012 21:41

yep...I think I will definitely go and book this for DS again soon. It could be very good for him, even just for helping to relax and calm things for him some.

Might have some for myself too.

whatthewhatthebleep · 21/09/2012 21:44

it's just all about that I believe....'a thought is as good as a deed' - sending positive thoughts and soothing light is always good Smile

hhmmmm choc peanuts...thank you x

Badvoc · 21/09/2012 21:48

Hmmmm.
I am a Christian and go to church.
I would be very happy to pray for you all of you want me to....
You are also free to tell me to feck off of course :)
Mmmm...peanut revels....scrumptious.

moosemama · 21/09/2012 21:48

The older I get the more I accept that 'thought's become deeds' adage.

So hard to remain positive though sometimes isn't it and then I go and make it worse by berating myself thus releasing even more negativity. I am a pessimist by nature, so feel this is one of my life lessons this time around. Wink

moosemama · 21/09/2012 21:50
Grin

All prayer, positive thought and any other strongly held positive belief is very much respected and appreciated by me Badvoc. Smile

Badvoc · 21/09/2012 21:52

Will do moose.
I will admit to praying for some of you without your permission in the past but I will stop if you want me to! :)
Revel? Not plural?
You sadden me moose....

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 21/09/2012 21:55

For a christian, you are sure having bad thoughts about 'Father' Richard Chamberlain and Russell Crowe!

Badvoc · 21/09/2012 21:56

Hahahahahahaha
I said I was a Christian....
I didn't say I was a good one!

Badvoc · 21/09/2012 21:57

And pag won't tell me if russell was panting or not!.,

ouryve · 21/09/2012 22:01

Gawd I feel shite. Went to bed feeling ropey. Woke up feeling whoozy. Stuffed up some simple knitting, this afternoon and now I have a stonking headache. And medicinal cider.

And there's naff all on telly.

DS1 had his 1st big explosion of the school year, this week. Really big and really angry and aggressive :( He's so stressed by school. Looking round what the LA has to offer, I can't see anywhere that, on paper, would be any better for him. All 3 of the area's SSs would be likely to send him to MS for lessons because he's so bright, so he'd still have all the same problems and none of his familiar people around him.

DH and I are going to visit a school next week, though - but he wouldn't be able to start there for a couple of years and it would be a fight to get him in, since it's independent. We do want to get to know our longer term options better, though.

Right, orf to read t'rest of t'thread.

Badvoc · 21/09/2012 22:05

Ouryve.
So sorry you feel unwell.
Maybe it's transition trauma for your ds?

ouryve · 21/09/2012 22:10

I think i need to offer more cider round. I'll keep my own germy bottle to myself though

Badvoc - Molluscum contagiosum? www.nhs.uk/conditions/Molluscum-contagiosum/Pages/Introduction.aspx

ouryve · 21/09/2012 22:14

It's constant, I'm afraid, Badvoc. There was no transition involved as he went back to the same teacher & same classroom he started year 3 in. There's rarely a week goes by without a big blow up, but it's thankfully rarely as big as this one. He had a trip on Monday and a 3 school event going on today, so both would have contributed. Even knowing that someone is visiting the school to talk to his class or that there's going to be a special event on in the hall can set him off - so that's pretty much constantly, really. And there's no easing him into the idea because that just gives him more time to build up the anxiety.

moosemama · 21/09/2012 22:14

Sorry you aren't well ouryve. Hope you can find the right placement for your ds.

Potluck I'm afraid - there may even be a coffee one in there somewhere. Mwa-ha-ha-ha!

Badvoc · 21/09/2012 22:17

I shall eat the coffee one moose.
But I shan't enjoy it :)
Ouryve...ds1 was like that to a lesser extent up til this year. He is still anxious and has OCD ish traits but is so much better than he was.
Year 4 was really good for him - hoping year 5 is as good!
I guess the trip and events won't have helped him poor thing :(

ouryve · 21/09/2012 22:23

You can have some of my G&B, Badvoc. I have a choice of white chocolate or dark with ginger. I think I also have some really strong dark chocolate in my baking cupboard. Anyone?

{wobbles off to kitchen to find out if it's still there}

Badvoc · 21/09/2012 22:26

Love dark choc ouryve, cheers!
I will eat the revels too obv :)

ouryve · 21/09/2012 22:28

All the lovely things in my kitchen and I've come back with a ham sandwich.

I've still got some of those Mu cheese sticks if anyone wants one. No one likes them and they don't even melt properly so I can't hide them in anything cooked.

ouryve · 21/09/2012 22:29

Actually moosemama, I'm more worried about DS2 - he appears to have it, too. We had to drag him out of bed after 7am, today. He never sleeps in that late!!!
