Making hay while the sun shines and always adoring Beatrice.

I have chosen the thread title this time, because current circumstances means the sun isn't always shining for Beatrice at the moment. Indeed, she is currently in hospital in a fair amount of discomfort. However, when the sun does shine, and we have bright and clear days, we pack in as much as we can. Smile

When we brought Beatrice home from SCBU, we had the consultant's words ringing in our ears, 'Take her home and make some memories.' I feel confident and proud that we have made a treasure trove of memories, however long Beatrice's life may be. She continues to be surrounded by so much love and adoration from her family and I feel this love has helped her to thrive.

During the difficult days, such as these, we pray hard for peace and calm, and for a quick resolution so we can take our darling girl home and make even more precious memories with our beautiful Beatrice.

As with all other threads, same rules apply Wink, read if you want to, post if you can, but above all, please spare some positive thoughts or prayers for Beatrice. Smile

Oh that's fantastic news.

Well done Bea, you are the most amazing little girl.

Now, keep it up, we're all still sending you strength love and light. x

cupofteaplease · 15/10/2012 10:21

Right, I'm feeling in a bit of a state.

Consultant has just seen Beatrice in HDU and said that she can go home today as she's back down to .5 o2 and well in herself.

However, he said that her chest xray has shown that her heart appears enlarged. He said it could be positional, so they've ordered nan ultrasound to see what's going on. We aren't sure if they can fit her in today or if she'll have to come back as an outpatient.

I feel like I've been punched in the stomach. I'm sure it's just positional, and I can't borrow trouble ahead of time, BUT, if there's a problem she can't have corrective surgery so what will happen. I feel sick. Positive thoughts please, again Sad

holding your hand cup. No point me telling you not to worry but can you distract yourself till scan is done? - write out christmas related lists etc, lurk on trivial parts of mumsnet....

whatthewhatthebleep · 15/10/2012 10:30

don't panic cup if the cons is letting her home then I would think it can be controlled and assisted. It may not be as serious as it sounds and I would think there are things that can be done...meds maybe if necessary.

Hoping the repeat scans will show things to be alright. Try not to worry about the unknown....celebrate she is coming home with you today....one step at a time eh
Hugs and strength to you all xxx

creamteas · 15/10/2012 10:30

Can't offer any advice, but thinking of you Cup. Bea is doing so well and beaten the odds so many times, I'm sure she will do it again

moosemama · 15/10/2012 10:40

Sad I posted too soon.

Sorry you have this to deal with just when she's so much better.

As Whatthe said, one step at a time. No reason to believe it's anything other than positional at this point and we all know Bea's knack of challenging the odds.

I hope they can fit her in today, rather than leaving you to worry.

Sending love, light and strength to you and willing Bea to beat the odds again. x

DutchOma · 15/10/2012 11:19

Prayers continuing. It's a big step from HDU to home.

SallyBear · 15/10/2012 11:32

Really sad to hear this. Pleased that you can go home, but sad that Beatrice has this to contend with. Prayers, love and hugs. X

cupofteaplease · 15/10/2012 11:35

Dutch it is indeed a big step. Beatrice doesn't do things by half...

They can't fit her in for an ECG today, so I guess we'll just wait.

She'll be fine. She'll be just fine.

She will be fine.

Lovethesea · 15/10/2012 15:05

Praying.

mymatemax · 15/10/2012 16:28

Cup, glad the beautiful Bea is feeling better!
I know its just one story but my cousin lived with an enlarged heart for 20yrs, it was part of his genetic condition... nothing to do with your dd i know, just wanted to say that an enlarged heart isnt always something serious, it may just add to the list of clinic check ups.
Take care

5madthings · 15/10/2012 16:34

So glad you are going home :)

Crap that you have something else to worry about but they wouldnt let her home if they thought it was serious. As they said its probably just positional, i think Bea likes keeping you all on your toes, cheeky madame!

Sending calming thoughts and hope the app comes through asap xx

starfishmummy · 15/10/2012 16:42

Love and hugs.

pannetone · 15/10/2012 17:00

Continuing to pray for Beatrice - and keep repeating your mantra Cup. Prayers to help you do just that - Beatrice has shown us so many times what it means to have hope. x

LetLoveRule · 15/10/2012 17:12

Come on Bea! I don't often post but I have followed your story and often think of you and your family.
