Making hay while the sun shines and always adoring Beatrice.

I have chosen the thread title this time, because current circumstances means the sun isn't always shining for Beatrice at the moment. Indeed, she is currently in hospital in a fair amount of discomfort. However, when the sun does shine, and we have bright and clear days, we pack in as much as we can. Smile

When we brought Beatrice home from SCBU, we had the consultant's words ringing in our ears, 'Take her home and make some memories.' I feel confident and proud that we have made a treasure trove of memories, however long Beatrice's life may be. She continues to be surrounded by so much love and adoration from her family and I feel this love has helped her to thrive.

During the difficult days, such as these, we pray hard for peace and calm, and for a quick resolution so we can take our darling girl home and make even more precious memories with our beautiful Beatrice.

As with all other threads, same rules apply Wink, read if you want to, post if you can, but above all, please spare some positive thoughts or prayers for Beatrice. Smile

maddiemostmerry · 19/09/2012 16:33

Happy belated birthday to Bea. Hope she is feeling a little better now.

I just had a look at her pics, I can't believe how much she has grown. She looks very much a little girl rather than a baby now. She looks like her sisters, they all look beautiful.

zebrafinch · 19/09/2012 19:33

Belated birthday wishes for Beatrice. Hope she is home soon. Cup you and all the teaset have given Beatrice a fantastic first year despite her many hospital admissions. The picture of Bea in the mountains, who could have imagined that! Here's hoping her second year will have more nice surprises.

MrsHende · 19/09/2012 21:26

Happy birthday Bea!

saffronwblue · 21/09/2012 07:05

So glad Bea had a happy day and hope she is on the mend.Cup what an amazing year you have had too. Thank you for everything you have taught and shown me on your threads about your precious family. xx

cupofteaplease · 21/09/2012 20:27

Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes, belated or otherwise!

Beatrice made it out of hospital on Tuesday, and had a new tube fitted on Wednesday. We also met with an anaesthetist about her jejunostomy and fundoplication. Without going into detail, it can't happen still. Bea is one big anaesthetic risk. Sad

In other news... I met someone in Lourdes, who, unbeknown to me is on the board of trustees of a charity which he set up. To cut a long story short, he offered to set up a trust fund for Beatrice under the umbrella of his registered charity, so basically, we can fundraise for Beatrice and claim Gift Aid. He has also arranged for a website to be set up so we can advertise her fund and encourage people to fundraise/ raise awareness of Lissencephaly and Central Arthrogryposis (bith incredibly unknown by the public...)

Anyway, he asked me what I would like the charity to be called, and I said the only name I could think of came from my lovely friends on MN- Team Bea Smile Many of you gave us that name, and have been following Team Bea since day one, and now other people can too! It's very exciting. Hopefully, fingers crossed, the website gors live tomorrow!

Lovethesea · 23/09/2012 17:44

Can there be a little pin badge to buy? A little tea cup in bright colours or something? I'd stick one on my rucksack and look out for other people with one...

Northernlurkerisbackatwork · 23/09/2012 18:57

Oh I'm really cross with myself that I missed Bea's birthday last weekend. Belated greetings to her and to you Cup. Here we go in to Year 2 for Bea Smile
