Never had pleasure of starting one before Grin
Had an ok week, apart from one school making it clear they don't want dd2 in their school, fighting centre parks and winning Grin and second week of a horrible cough.
How is everyone?

Wow lisad, you won against CP. I read part of your thread the other day but didn't realise you had sorted it!! Well done youGrin.

Sad about the school not wanting your Dd.

We have had good week too apart from Dd3 losing her project which had taken us hours to completeHmm. She left it in the cloakroom, as you do.

Luckily some kind soul picked it up and handed it in. And yes we did send it without her name on. How stupid did I feel.

Never mind its sorted now.

Dd3 is being very brave tonight and singing a duet at the school xmas fair.

I will come back on later and tell everyone how she gets on. She has a brill singing voice, I am just not sure that she is brave enough. Well we will seeGrin.

Be back laterSmile

TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 02/12/2011 17:28

well done lisa, that's fantastic Smile shame about the school, at least you found out before you sent her there!

ineed, good luck to your dd3 for tonight Smile

having a nightmare with piedros, ordered a new pair 8 weeks ago through physio and still waiting . . . dd3's toes are right at the end and hurting now so I'm going to have to go buy something that will do for now, shops will be manic tomorrow, dd3 won't be happy. Bet the new pair don't fit when they get here either. Apart from that though, a good week, this new ss gives me so much less stress I can't find a single thing to moan about Grin

coff33pot · 02/12/2011 17:29

Evening guys :) Yes lisad congrats on getting through to CP eventually!

Good luck to your DD3 singing Ineed. Come back and tell us if you had a lump in your throat pride moment Grin I start crying as soon as any child starts singing away in the manger for some reason.

Resonably ok here. Usual chasing up proffs for this and that but its all becoming part of the furniture now. Still struggling to come to terms with whats happened to eldest DD but it will take months if not longer I expect for her to feel better about things.

Had a funny if not Blush moment with a phone call today. We have been practising how to answer the telephone with DS and how to be polite at the door etc for the last 10 days or so. The phone rang and I was indisposed in the bathroom lol I heard phone ringing and a rather posh DS going "Yes? hello how can I help you?" "No this is not "mummy" this is DS" "One moment I shall call mummy for you, who is calling our house please?" Grin

I race down stairs to be handed the phone and commenting to him what a lovely job he did of answering it only to find it was the LA !! Phoning to discuss his statement and his errr ummm social communications skills Blush It was funny though as once he was off the phone he was his normal hare around the house self!

Hope everyone else is ok and had good weeks! Off to do DS tea so pop back on later.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 02/12/2011 17:30

We're off out too, to DS3's school Christmas fair, he's playing the recorder. Will pop back later.

Still really pleased that you got CParcs to be reasonable, Lisa. Smile

lisad123 · 02/12/2011 17:30

I was a very quiet child (not as an adult though) and loved to sing, and would happily sing infront of hundreads of people but then go back to being shy, so she may be fine, and im sure wonderful Smile

Yes they called this morning and gave us a closer villa and early check in, but did have to downgrade to do so, but still a win :)

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 02/12/2011 17:33

Crossed with ninja and coff33. I'll have some if that gin, thanks. Loving the ultra polite phone call!!

lisad123 · 02/12/2011 17:38

coff33, wow thats wonderful! well done :)
dd1 is still too terrified to answer the phone, even if she knows who it is :(

all these shows! must be lovely

Hi all, I'll have to post and run as I started my temp Christmas job working nights on Wednesday. It's my birthday, and had some lovely gifts. My main one is a new lens for my DSLR to aid my photography habit. Also got a lovely pink cubic zirconia ring from my boyfriend, and some headphones too :)

The job is great, we get a 10 minute "eye break" after every hour of work on the computer so my eyes are coping fine with being awake at daft times.

Tomorrow night I'm off on my first ever ghost hunt! :) And also have to pop into town to get my lovely ring exchanged as it's a tiny bit tight and I'd feel more comfortable with a size up.

It's very sparkly though, and he gave me a huge card with "to my girlfriend on her birthday" on it. Still feels weird knowing I have a boyfriend, and that we've been together a month today! Anyway, hope everyone else is OK, I've got to go and start getting sorted for work, will post again in the morning :)

moosemama · 02/12/2011 18:08

Evening folks.

Well done Lisa on your Centre Parcs victory. I read your thread the other day, but didn't get to see how it ended.

Good luck Ineed's dd. Smile

I am the type of softie mum that ends up crying at nearly every school assembly and special event. Something about being in that hall with all the littlies just sets me off every time. Blush

Coff33, had to laugh at your ds's posh telephone style. Grin Fantastic that you've been able to teach him that though - so many children just grap the phone and yell MUUUUUUUM! at the top of their voices. I daren't let mine answer the phone - its safer to let the answer machine get it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOLLIPOP! Grin Sounds like you've had some lovely presents and lovely to hear its still going well with your bf. Smile

This week has been ok really, other than dses constantly bickering and fighting and me still having the tail end of last week's bug. Dd has now got it, along with conjunctivitis in both eyes - she woke me at 3.00 am last night to tell me "Mummy I have a bogie in my eye" Grin

I have finished my christmas shopping and ordered all the constituent parts of the family presents we are making, so feeling a bit calmer about all that now.

The only bad thing this week was the Royal Mail losing no fewer than 11 of my parcels. All were posted the same weekend and from different shops all over the country, either first class or recorded and all had been awol for over two weeks! Angry Had to put in a formal complaint about it and then they investigated my sorting office. They have found five so far, but the missing ones are all things like rare lego minifigures and other such collectible and obscure things that the boys' have specifically asked for for christmas, so not expensive but really hard to source and in some cases impossible to replace. Angry

Have received confirmation of 2 January for the LA's deadline to inform us if they're going to go ahead with SA and spoken with the school, who have their evidence etc all ready to post. So at least something is headed in the right direction.

moosemama · 02/12/2011 18:13

Urg - looks like I'm not in for such a good weekend though.

Ds1 has just come racing through the living room to the toilet twice saying his tummy hurts and then he thinks he's going to be sick - then gone and thrown up. Hmm In between all this he managed to tell me that he ate a packet of sweets another child gave him today, despite the fact he knows they have gluten in. Angry He reckons he forgot about them having gluten in and only remembered when his tummy started to hurt - but he knows we have a blanket 'never eat any food at school unless its given to you by Mum/Dad or your teachers' rule.

We are supposed to be going to their Christmas Fair tomorrow and he's going to be a nightmare if he can't go. Sad

TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 02/12/2011 18:21

oh no moose, hope he's ok. Bickering par for the course here too!

lollipop, happy birthday, what a lovely pressie Smile

ellen, hop it all goes well Smile

coffee, lovely phone skills!

almost forgot, dd3's new hearing aid and mould are in at audiology, shame about the 6 week wait before we can get them!

moosemama · 02/12/2011 18:23

Thanks Ninja.

If they are already in the audiology dept, why have you got to wait 6 weeks?

LollipopViolet · 02/12/2011 18:26

Oh dear Moose, not good :( And not good about the parcels either not mentioning I work for Royal Mail, but not in sorting

signandsmile · 02/12/2011 18:27

Oh dear moose!
Yay lisa and Lollipop and needa's DD, hope singing goes well...

bit of a headless chook week here, but some real highlights. ds had hair cut and was fab (sang the songs from the nativity play for 'hair cut debbie' (as she is known Grin) and nearly made her cry with how far his speech has come on.)

Got lots of college work done, (which was a relief as it was all 'looming' a bit IYKWIM) and going to Christmas Market for an hour tomorrow if dh is able to have ds, (dh has been very unsteady and in pain this week which has not been good Sad) but he got out for lunch with my dad today which was good for both of them Wink

lisad123 · 02/12/2011 18:46

Hope his ok moose Sad

OP posts:
TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 02/12/2011 18:52

moose, we need an appointment for the new aid to be fitted and the settings sorted, there aren't any [sigh] Hope they find the parcels!

sign, yay for ds, he's doing brilliantly, poor dh though. How's college going?

coff33pot · 02/12/2011 19:03

Hope the parcels turn up soon moose! Nothing more annoying when you think all xmas bits are sorted and they get lost! Also hope your son settles and dd loses her eye bogies quick! Grin DS used to get eye infections a lot with having no tear ducts when he was small. He overheard me on the phone telling the doc his eyes were plastered with gunk. His Dad walked in and he said "I'm plastered Dad" Grin Resulting in DH asking if he had been in the wine cabinet!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Lollipop! your ring sounds beautiful glad you are being spoiled :)

Hope your DS fair goes ok Ellen! I could neither sing nor play anything in public when I was small. Made a good tree on stage once............

Well done to signs DS on the hair cut! I bet he looks like an angel as well as singing like one now :)

Ninja....you seem to be playing the waiting game on a lot of things! Hope they all arrive soon!

auntevil · 02/12/2011 19:10

Good on you Lisa - Lisa 1 CP 0 Grin
Ineed - hope your DD makes you blub with pride
Ninja - you lush, gin already
Coff - i could do with some of your phone training skills. We have managed and elvis-esque 'uh hu' followed by the phone being shoved in my face with the words 'yours' added.
Ellen hope the recorder recital goes OK (more blubbing with pride please)
Lollipop - a bf that buys you gifts - looking good. Good luck (?!) with the ghost hunt
Moose - slight Xmas Envy at the finishing of the christmas pressies. Complete reverse of Xmas Envy at the vomit situation.
I've been working my socks off this week - school/college and general stuff, as DH is still away at work. DS2 has been put in the social skills and communication group as from Jan. Bit Sad at that in a way as he is the one that i've always thought is he or isn't he NT/SN. This term it's almost been a check list of traits that i have been told about by his teacher.
I must be getting old as tonight, as soon as i get the DSs into bed - i'm off myself, even if it's 8 o'clock Grin

moosemama · 02/12/2011 19:16

Thanks folks.

Ninja what a pita and so frustrating when you know its just sitting there doing nothing.

Sign, now that would definitely have made me cry! Grin Sorry dh isn't doing very well, hope he feels better over the weekend and you manage to get to the Christmas Market. I was daft enough to dose myself up with cold and flu tablets and go into town with my big sis last Saturday. Shock is all I have to say about the experience. Not really, Grin - made my manflu a whole lot worse and ended up in bed all day on Sunday as a result, but despite the manic crowds I did enjoy myself and even managed to get everything I went for.

Coff33, lol at plastered ds - the thought of my lot post wine cabinet invasion is too scarey to even contemplate! Grin

Mmmm chocolate mints ... no I mustn't, I've already snatched half a dozen chocolate buttons from dd's stash in the fridge. Blush Diet has been a bit wobbly while I've been ill - gained 3oz instead of losing a pound this week. Sad Still, am back to shredding again now, so hopefully I can still make my Christmas goal weight.

coff33pot · 02/12/2011 19:21

auntevil - It started off as ds was using old batteryless mobiles as walkie talkies for his on his own ben10 in his head play, used to have one phone in each hand btw!. So built shops in the front room and played pretend phone orders game Grin Then it became a novelty and I would keep one and say "oi!" I am phoning you for a food order for tea are you not going to answer?"

Had to do something as ususally the phone rings non stop here and I have a habbit of sighing and saying "who is it now!" whilst walking to the phone. DS has a copying habbit and a couple times got to the phone and repeated what I said Blush

Sorry to hear you are a bit :( re your ds. I get that feeling when ds does to things like this on the phone but cant for the life of him socialise with his peers.

Join in and have some of ninjas gin before bed it will help you chill........or snore LOL

coff33pot · 02/12/2011 19:24

moose>>..shredding ? or shedding LOL shredding sounds and awful painful way to get rid of a few pounds Grin

moosemama · 02/12/2011 19:31

Shredding! Grin Its doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred circuit training dvd on a daily basis - and yes it is painful - sometimes very painful!

I'm totally addicted and really missed it when I was too poorly to do my workouts. Blush

coff33pot · 02/12/2011 19:35

I am glad you explained it! I had a vision of you and a cheese grater! Grin

TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 02/12/2011 19:48

ooooooooo coffee, sounds painful Shock Grin yes plenty of waiting, it seems to be down to the cuts, people are leaving and not being replaced Sad

moose, it's hard, I'm not the most patient!

auntevil, I'll send some gin round Grin I'd deliver it myself if I hadn't already had some! I misread your post as getting cold, I was all ready to agree with you, proper cold today Grin School sound really on the ball, meant to ask if they're still closing the base there, one of the boys from preschool starts soon?

moosemama · 02/12/2011 20:01

Ouch! Shock

Well, he's not been sick again, but is looking decidedly green and curled up in bed with a Paddington DVD and a sick bowl. Things must be bad if we're on Paddington though. Sad
