To whom it may concerned
We have been coming to Centre Parcs for the past 4 years as a family. This includes myself, my husband, our two children with special needs and my parents who come to lend a hand.
It is with sadness that I feel the need to email you and complain about your lack of support for families with special needs.
We always take advantage of your offer to rebook within 21 days and get a price promise and insurance. We are due to come and stay with you on ** December 2011, which was booked in January 2011.
In April this year my mother had a major stroke which has left her with mobility problems, partially sighted and having fits.
With this in mind I requested a closer villa, but was told this wasnt possible without paying for it, and it was a large amount of money. I have now been told, that the reason we cant be closer is because we have dogs with us. Which is it??
I have looked online this morning and there is a closer dog villa but at cost of £159 more.
I had also requested an early check-in because of my mothers fits and her inabilty to manage with large crowds. I was again told I can pay for this at cost of £65, which is a big amount consdering it comes with 2 bikes we cant use due to mums wheelchair and my own children have specialist bikes, and wheelchair but again there appears to be no movement on this either.
I would happily pay for early check in, if they would consider taking off the cost of 2 bikes. I was also told that the medical team have to limit the amount of early check ins they recieve because the housekeepers but again if I pay this magically isnt an issue.
I am disappointed with this level of service, and it appears that you are only willing to help make special needs peoples stay better if they are willing to pay for it.
I am formally requesting reasonable adjustments be made under the The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 , as since 1 October 1972 ? Service providers have had to make 'reasonable adjustments' for disabled people, such as providing extra help or making changes to the way they provide their services.
and since 1 October 2004 ? Service providers may have to make other 'reasonable adjustments' in relation to the physical features of their premises to overcome physical barriers to access
I also request that you do not discriminate against me or my family because of our protected characteristics under the Equality act. Both of these have prevfiously happened.
I look forward to your reply within 3 working days due to the date of the forth coming holiday.
