Ds really pleased to see me, (said hello 6 times and 'I miss you' 4 times) Grin

I was thinking elf as that's what he is the film but I've just had a google and it's santa claus the movie Grin elf is the film with that really tall bloke in whose name I can't remember either!

dev9aug · 04/11/2011 21:42

I might as well join you guys here as well since you will be seeing a lot more of me from now on.....

Have an announcement to make, wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy today and we have a working diagnosis for DS1 of autism. Considering everything we are in good spirits, feeling positive and ready for the bumpy road ahead...

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 04/11/2011 21:43

oi triggles, there's a cue for the ironing Grin

x posts, thanks for that Smile

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 04/11/2011 21:45

aww, congratulations dev on your new arrival. Was the asd dx expected?

creatovator · 04/11/2011 21:47

Dev Congrats. Have some Wine. Someone was offering it earlier, can't remember who now. How old is your DS1?

Triggles Your the week after next if you can wait that long Grin.

Thanks for the movie ideas. I'm obviously going to be watching lots LOL!

Triggles · 04/11/2011 21:49

welcome dev9aug! Congratulations on your new baby boy!! Smile

Hey, where are our Christmas smileys?!?!?! Hmm Not that I'm rushing or anything... Grin

Elf starred Will Ferrell. That one was funny too. One of the few Christmas movies we don't have on DVD. Blush

Triggles · 04/11/2011 21:50

creatovator I've just done some ironing today (still getting over the trauma Grin) so I can wait a week or so now. LOL

creatovator · 04/11/2011 21:51

We don't have Elf either. Something I'll have to rectify. I love Christmas movies!

creatovator · 04/11/2011 21:53

Dev You might as well pass your ironing over too, I remember those new baby days Grin.

dev9aug · 04/11/2011 21:53

Thanks Ninja, i just realised I have posted something completely off the topic of current conversation. No good with movies I am afraid, Especially xmas ones.

Dx was kind of expected, I just went in more for our peace of mind. Doesn't really change the plan we have to start ABA as soon as possible. Also got a letter for an appointment with NHS Salt end of his month. Not sure what to expect from that though.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 04/11/2011 21:54

I don't know if we have elf, will have to check with dd2, I don't think I've seen it.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 04/11/2011 21:57

I love hearing new baby news dev Smile sounds like you have a good plan sorted for your ds1.

I only like watching christmas movies with the kids, it's not the same on your own, for me anyway.

creatovator · 04/11/2011 21:57

Dev Don't worry about being off topic. Most of us feel a bit spaced out here anyway Grin. You managed to get an appointment with an NHS SALT Shock.. how did you do that??

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 04/11/2011 22:00

Hi Dev, hope new baby is doing well, sorry he couldn't hang on any longer, obviously too keen to meet you. Smile

I'm too late to repy to everyone, but picked up on lollipop's boyfriend news!

Well, we've been out to the local firework display at the cricket ground and it was lovely. (Only us then?) DS2 loves fireworks. It's that hypo sensitivity thing again, loud noises and bright lights are his thing. As soon as the display finished he wanted to come home though, which was a shame as loads of school friends of all 3 boys were there.

creatovator · 04/11/2011 22:02

Hi Ellen sounds like a good night. Shame you had to come home sooner than you wanted.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 04/11/2011 22:05

I managed to get a swift mulled Wine down my neck, so not too bad, thanks creatovator. Smile

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 04/11/2011 22:06

fireworks are tomorrow here ellen, I shall be watching from an upstairs window while the dcs watch from the front wall, I just like to be warm! Hope the boys got a little time with their friends.

dev, just saw your other thread, hadn't realised your new arrival was a preemie, hope everything continues to go smoothly and your dw has a quick recovery Smile

creatovator · 04/11/2011 22:06

Mmm.. mulled Wine. Nice Smile.

creatovator · 04/11/2011 22:07

Dev I hadn't realised either. Ditto Ninja.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 04/11/2011 22:23

There's a big display at the racecourse tomorrow night, but that's just too much like hard work. This little local display is really homely (and walking distance Wink )

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 04/11/2011 22:26

the one over the road from us is a big one but as it's only over the road we get a pretty good view grom the house without having to do the crowds.

dev9aug · 04/11/2011 22:30

ooh, offer of ironing, how can I refuse, let me know where to drop it off will you..Grin we have been on the waiting list for about 6 months now so the SALT appointment was long overdue..... how useful it is, we will find out soon.
DS1 is 2y3m.

Thanks for your wishes everyone. we are happy with the arrival even though it was sooner than we thought. mum and the baby are both doing fine for now. We have been through the drill with ds1 so are prepared for whats to come next. next few days are critical, but he has some of the best consultants to look after him there, so not overly concerned about it. just got to keep all our fingers and toes crossed.

SmileSmileSmileSmile

Triggles · 04/11/2011 22:45

LOL Ellen - I toyed with the idea of the display at the racecourse and dismissed it about 20 seconds later! DS2 would spend the entire time shrieking whilst wearing ear defenders. And I'm not keen on crowds. I was told there is a "noiseless" fireworks display for children in the area, by a lake? But again, too much like work trying to find it. Grin I was looking forward to a nice relaxing evening, not out fighting the crowds and such.

creatovator · 04/11/2011 22:46

Dev You've got the SALT appointment early enough. DS dx Asperger's Syndrome got his first one at 5 yrs. He was an early talker, but didn't pick up on the social cues. Not sure how helpful SALT was, except she referred DS for OT which was great. Hope all goes well with your DS1.

Ok I'm off to bed now. Night night all.
