Oh dear god, all this over a stopwatch??

DS2 has been obsessed the last couple days with a stopwatch that we got in a free games pack. We've let him play with it, no big deal. But DH set it down somewhere today, and now we can't find it and DS2 is having a meltdown. And of course, DH is having one as well, doing the whole "laying down the law" crap, which we all know works sooooo well with children with ASD, eh? Hmm So DH shouting and swearing, DS2 screaming and crying... DS3 unbelievably (thankfully) sleeping through it all. I'm trying to calm DS2 and telling DH to stop shouting and swearing as he's just making it all worse....

Yep... right old fun time here tonight. I need a drink.

OMG coff33pot - that croc from Jake and the Neverland pirates??!?!?! he makes me laugh he does - so that got a giggle when you said that!

welcome welcome!

And intothewest - yes. It will most definitely start up again tomorrow morning. and throughout the day. And reach a similar soul-destroying peak again tomorrow night. God help me.... I can deal with DS2 having a meltdown, he's fairly predictable in that regard... but DH stomping around and shouting only makes it worse... (he's just lucky he didn't wake up DS3, or I'd have throttled him!! DH, I mean, not DS2)

Hope today is more civilised, triggles (and your head is kind to you!)

Our TV remote vanished, last week. DH at least understands DS1 all too well and was gettign into a right flip about the possible repercussions of DS1 not being able to change from BBC2 to CBeebies without using the buttons on the side of the TV. We had most of the room upside down and he forgot all sorts the next morning because he was still obsessing about it. DS1 was fine. He's used to not having it because I end up confiscating it most days!

Anyhow, I went to make lunch the day after it vanished and 10 minutes later, there it was, in the middle of the livingroom floor, surrounded by shoes! :o DS2 must have hidden it in a welly or something!

Triggles · 30/08/2011 09:32

Oh my god - DH would come unglued if the remote was missing overnight!! He gets panicked if it's missing for 10 minutes!!! DS2 has a special fascination for that as well. Anything with buttons or numbers, eh?

Oh, and I FOUND the stupid stopwatch. It was in my handbag. Not a clue why. Neither DH nor I remember putting it in there at all. Odd. Hmm

But it's in my pocket now. Not losing it again. Grin

Glad you found the stopwatch! Grin

Relatively calm here in our manic household, eldest DD came home at silly o'clock in the morning after breaking up with BF (NOT a bad thing) so it was 4am after lots of hugs and sympathy before I went bed YAWN so I am glad all is calm as I am concentrating on not nodding off!

Middle DD has gone swimming with mates again, DH had some things to deliver so he was out of my hair and I could finally clear out his computer corner.

DS has did have a small hissy fit this morning because he wanted to know the name of the woman on his lego star wars game and couldnt understand why daddy didnt know because he had watched star wars. Dad trying to explain yes he had watched them but these are new ones BUT they are from the past not the future Confused which went in one ear and out the other with DS and so he repeated the question of what is her name then thats on my game for the 25th time lol Mum rushes to internet and scours it to find the bloody womans name (Pedme for anyone who wants to know Grin) wisper it to dad who relays it to DS and peace reigns once again!

Glad the stopwatch turned up.

Sorry for my sharp exit last night - my stress seems to have manifested itself in my brain actually giving up and my neuro symptoms got worse and worse and culminated in a killer pain that meant I had to curl up and not move.

Been on the sofa under a duvet all day today, except for a couple of hours in bed while dd had her nap and the boys had extended ds time.

Not happy, not least of all because I haven't been able to do day 9 of the 30 day shred. Harrumph!

On a more positive note, the boys have been positively angelic all day and even supervised their little sister between them while they ate lunch.

Ds1 spent the whole lunch time saying "Ssssh! Daddy says Mommy needs to rest." over and over, then completely forgot at DS time while dd was napping, got carried away with his game and was whooping and squealing like a good 'un! Hmm

Coff33, ds1 is forever getting cross with me because I don't know who the characters in his Lego Star Wars DS game are. He keeps asking me all about Star Wars and I have trouble remembering stuff from the first three, let alone trying to get my head around the new ones. I was ridiculed when we were on holiday for not knowing that there's more than one JaJa - I though there was only JaJa Binks. [stoopid Mommy emoticon]

Triggles I didnt notice you had posted your update this morning about finding the stopwatch. I was worrying about it all day thinking this thread is going to go the same way as that Featherdown Farm thread and we'll never find out. But there we go, you did update us and Im so pleased you found it.

Now we really need to find out who put it in your handbag? Are you sure it wasnt you trying to create a crisis being secretly addicted to crisis or did you say your DH said he definately put it somewhere?

Do we have any more chocolate beer and wine tonight? Its my first day back at work tomorrow after 14 months maternity leave and I am rigid with utter terror. Do i sound more or less mad than yesterday? I feel I need some sort of independant MN barometer.

DEEP B R E A T H S being taken.

Dh has been signed off work for a month now which takes the pressure off us a lot. He is very good with the DCs and I cant cope with the two days I would have been doing on my own so less pressure now. I have arranged to just work one day this week and DS is at the childminders so both DH and I should theoretically have an easy day. Its still scary after 14 months off!! Talk about dragging it out.

I dont have beer or wine or chocolate but I do have a multipack of penguin biscuits bought earlier from Poundstretcher which I intend to binge eat.

smug - oh my... I can see where that would be nerve wracking going back to work!!Best of luck to you.

I'm sitting here with more stress. DS3 crying, doesn't want to go to sleep, and DH pissed off because (as he puts it) "don't we get any time in the evening to relax??" Yeah, because a TWO YEAR OLD is thinking about that, right?!?! Hmm I may spend the evening upstairs tonight, as I'm tired of DH taking everything personally. We nearly had a verbal blowup in the middle of town today, so I told him to go away and cool off and I refused to speak to him until he did. argh... stroppy shit

Into, neither do I, unfortunately ds1 has other ideas. Hmm Your time will come! Mwah! Ha! Ha! Wink

Smug, good luck tomorrow - you'll be fine. Imagine all that time with actual adults to speak to! Shock Grin

I can imagine how nervous you are after over a year off. I've been off work since I went on sick leave at 24 weeks pregnant with ds1 - and he's 9 year and 4 months old now! I really need to come up with some way of earning money, but really need it to be part time from home. Which tends to limit my options a tad. Dd starts nursery September 2012 and I really will have no excuses left then.

Triggles, sorry to hear you've had more stress to deal with. My two year old is currently leading her Daddy a merry dance upstairs and refusing to go to sleep as well - must be something in the air. Hmm
