Friday night chat, too tired...

Hi all. Just been on a damp school trip to Weston-Super-Mare, so a bit tired. DS2 (Y6) has been doing cycling proficiency this week but had to be brought back to school for 'endangering the others in his group!' Oooops! Grin

He had a wobble this week when I forgot it was Mufti day and he and his brother were the only ones in school uniform. DS3 was fine but DS2 had a complete strop. I didn't have time before work to get him changed, but his teacher found him an old rugby shirt in the PE cupboard. Didn't really help, he had a bad day. Sad What a bad mother!

Are you in south west then? I know weston well, it was the seaside we always went to as kids, (and I have students down there, so get to visit lots) did you get on to new swanky pier?

Week here at chez sign has been ok, I did 12 hour day on Tues (inc 200 mile round trip) for work, so am bit knackered, but at least all the arrangements to get dh and ds through the day minus me worked out ok...

ds went for school visit, (cue lots of cries of 'bi schoo !!!') He also made me laugh by climbing up to look in dh'd shaving mirror and randomly stating 'I got eyebrows!! two!!!'... it is still making me laugh. Grin

Yes, I'm from Bristol originally and Weston (super Mud) was our nearest seaside, nearest Radio One roadshow etc. We went on the new pier, very, hmm, traditionally tacky? And on the Weston Eye, (built by farmers) and the aquarium. Really tired now.

On a positive note, DS2 doesn't need to be circumcised, jury still out on DS3, though! Grin

I did a 4 day course this week, to become an Apple Certified Professional in Final cut Pro 7 (video editing software).

Did the Basic course exam yesterday, passed with 89% (80% needed for a pass).

Did the Advanced course exam today, passed with 80.36% (again, 80 needed for a pass).

I am over the moon, going shopping tomorrow with my best friend too! :)

liking that concept... does anyone get called up for jury duty? Grin. Joking aside, that's good news.

we always called it 'weston on the mud' never managed to time visits for when the sea was in...

have thought about eye for ds, but not sure if he would manage... do they pack you into the 'pods'?

A bit tired today. Too tired to really think much. LOL I could use a glass of wine, but none in the house. DH made a Brew for me, so that's good.

Just mindlessly watching telly.... will pop back in here and there. LOL (the proverbial bad penny, me Grin)

Sign, it was quiet there today, we had 6 children to one adult in each pod, but it seemed to be one family per pod for the public.

DS3 has to go back to see the consultant next year, hoping 'it's sorted itself out.'

Yes EllenJane - it is a wondrous thing!! LOL School run trauma is now a thing of the past. And he is willing to walk part of the way, because he knows he won't have to cope with the entire walk. Very pleased! I'm no longer a prisoner in my own home!

Now we get to panic about the ASD assessment in July. I always worry they'll look at him and say "he's normal,just badly behaved." Blush I KNOW it's there, and I know I'm being silly.. but still... after years of GPs poo-pooing our concerns, it still worries me.

Hi all - glad to hear the good news - The 'weston Eye' made me smile

Been really busy in RL,so don't get on MN much

DS finally got ASD diagnosis (I've known for ages,so feel relieved)Everything's pretty much o.k (will I regret typing that ?)

I have Wine and I'm going to open it.....

Had a meeting with the SENCO at Dd3's new school on monday, she is really pleased with the way Dd3 has settled in.

She has been fab about going to school since she moved. The senco had noted that she is often playing with the children who use wheelchairs and that she is really helpful and kind to them.

This seems to be helping her as she is not struggling all the time to socialise with the girls in her class.

She is still refusing to have school dinners but I think that is because she can avoid the dinner hall altogether if she takes a packed lunch.

Next week she and Dd2 are performing with their choir in a big theatre in the city nearest to us[don't want to out myself by naming it].

I am a bit worried about how she will cope with the noise from the orchestra but the vocal tutors are brilliant so they will keep an eye on her.

Sorry didn't mean that to be so longGrin.

You'll have to PM me the link, sign. I'm a bit of a Doctor Who junky, can just remember Patrick Troughton, but Jon Pertwee was my Doctor! (Carnival of Monsters my favourite episode.)

Triggles, I didn't realise you hadn't had his DX yet. Crossing fingers for you that you get a 'useful' DX.

No EllenJane - paed is actually unwilling to give him an "official" dx for anything yet, only a "working dx" in order for him to access support. She wants to wait until he is older (a couple years... sigh) as she feels it helps see how he develops. If she was not supportive, this would really annoy me, but she is extremely supportive and helpful, so we just play it by ear.

ellen, my lot had mufti day today, there were a few in uniform, there always are.

not a great week, we've waited 6 weeks after dd3s hearing test to get the settings on her hearing aid changed, they needed turning up a fair bit Sad and now she can't hear when there is any background noise, school are not happy and neither am I, they've also taken the loop setting off so she can't use her loop to watch the tv [sigh] so they've managed to sqeeze her into clinic on monday at 3.30, the only available slot all week, guess who'll be calling in a few favours to make that one. And to top it off nicely dd2 has a polyp in her nose that needs a ct scan and an op, she's not impressed.
