Hi all. Just been on a damp school trip to Weston-Super-Mare, so a bit tired. DS2 (Y6) has been doing cycling proficiency this week but had to be brought back to school for 'endangering the others in his group!' Oooops! Grin

He had a wobble this week when I forgot it was Mufti day and he and his brother were the only ones in school uniform. DS3 was fine but DS2 had a complete strop. I didn't have time before work to get him changed, but his teacher found him an old rugby shirt in the PE cupboard. Didn't really help, he had a bad day. Sad What a bad mother!

Just to bore you a little more, my lurcher looks a lot like the big ol' laying down lurcher on this forum thread. (You'll need to scroll down - he's like the one lying down next to the pup.)

He's gorgeous and such a softie, but lordy - there's really nothing at all between his ears! Grin Beautiful to watch him run though. Smile

I like big dogs, but only on a lead and from a long distance. Saw my sister get attacked and bitten in the face by a big dog when I was 5. Still remember it and have not been able to comfortably be around big dogs ever since. I just could not relax with a big dog in the house.

That's totally understandable - I am the same around horses. Rode for years and was happily obsessed until I had a couple of bad falls and was attacked in a stable by a particularly nasty livery we were looking after for a few weeks - I had my back to it at the time and was only there to hang up its haynet. Haven't ridden since and can't even pass a horse without shaking these days - they just seem far too big and potentially dangerous.

Just serves to remind us how much we are shaped by our experiences I suppose.

I am obsessively careful with my dogs around the dcs, we don't have baby gates in this house - we have dog gates. I never leave them alone together and we have a strict no dogs in the front of the house or upstairs rule. It works for us, but I suppose we're all used to it, as I've trained the dcs and the dogs to respect each other's space.

Anyway, I really have to go to bed now, my head is starting to hurt again and I've made it worse by oohing and ahing over rescue dogs I can't have. Blush
