hi moose how are you?

Thecarrotcake · 04/02/2011 22:21

Lisa I'll pm you :)

and yes I licked a battery as an adult Blush

moosemama · 04/02/2011 22:28

I always assumed it was because batteries give off a little buzz, that our little sensory seekers love em so much. Still not a good idea though.

Carrot, when ds was going through his removing the batteries stage it used to drive me up the wall. Even worse was that he'd then lose the backs off everything as well, so we had to sellotape the new batteries in place. So glad he doesn't do that anymore.

Lisa, that sounds brilliant. Its my dream to live next to a beach and walk my dogs on it at dawn and dusk. I might get there when I retire. Hmm The dream used to involve a huge pack of dogs, but now I am old, exhausted and no longer a dog trainer I just see myself with two or three.

Ooo, dh has just recieved an email invite for an interview for a very plush job, with a lovely fat salary which would mean I wouldn't have to go back to work (something we've been fretting about). Unfortunately its quite a commute, which means he would be around a lot less. I'm kind of of the money isn't worth it frame of mind and I thought dh would be with me on that, but he's actually really tempted, not just because of the money, but because its a job he knows he can do and for a very prestigious company. Quandry. Hmm

What am I still doing here? I thought I'd've been in bed hours ago. Actually, I think I feel a bit better.

Hi crazypanda. I'm ok, glad the week's over and I can have a lie in tomorrow morning.

DameEdnaBeverage · 04/02/2011 22:31

i'm ok ,tired,of course, and i'm feeling the same way, hope nobody wakes me up too early in the morning!.

moosemama · 04/02/2011 22:44

Well, he currently does the school run with me - or some days even without me - then goes to work where he gets in for 9.30 ish. He comes home for lunch for half an hour in the middle of the day (which dd loves) and then is home from work at roughly 6.30 pm in time to help with bedtime.

With the new job he would be out 7-7 at least and I think there's likely to be a big expectation of overtime as well. Sad It would definitely be a big change, but sometimes I think things run more smoothly when he's not here (don't tell him I said that though). Thing is, its double his current salary and they are only asking for his current experience and qualifications. (He's definitely underpaid and underappreciated where he is and its a horrible place to work.)

I would definitely miss the support, as I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and some days are really tough. Long term it would mean I wouldn't have to go back to work though, which is important to think about with both my health and ds1 to consider.

He's just said he's going to go for the interview, as if nothing else it will be interview experience.

Crazypanda, hope you manage to get a decent lie in tomorrow. Smile

moose, ditto

Interesting week here...

The LD nurse came on Wednesday- I forgot completely that he was coming, so the girls had trashed the lounge while the phone rang, and I hadn't tidied it up yet...then DD1 went on a wild climbing spree.

He was shocked, told me what to do, then saw it doesn't work. He has told me that he will refer to SS for respite Direct Payments (refused last time) and he cleared his diary to be able to attend her annual review :DD

Today was DD1's annual review. Very positive, but acknowledging areas for development, alongside an acknowledgement that she DOES climb at school, she IS hard work, and they DO have days when they can't do anything with her. Hooorayyyyyy - I thought it might be our parenting!!

moosemama · 04/02/2011 23:19

Just popped back to say goodnight all.

Lougle that sounds like a positive outcome on both fronts. Congratulations on a successful week. Long may it continue.

Night all.

Well, the funny thing is that we had a curry night at DD1's school tonight. The subject of her LD nurse came up and there was rolling of eyes from the HT. She did nod vigorously when I said another senior teacher had said we may wish to swap the LD team for the SHIP (School home integration partnership) team.

This will be because the LD nurse is pleasant, but not very dynamic. In fact, I have to say to DD1 'x doesn't like that DD1' when she feels his hair, because he just stares at her Shock Grin
