Hi I sent my sons autism dsm-5 report also gave my sons appointment woth the peadatrics and gave senco contact details and been told mine was looked at then put aside so no decision been made yet so not sure if they need more info from school but the school isn't very helpful x

Do you have diary's of your days? I've been told they help I've started doing diary's since his diagnosis more for help for me but will use it for my appeal. They could just be waiting for thr SENCO to respond if they haven't got much information from them? Is your child in mainstream or SEN? I'm lucky with my sons school it is mainstream with SEN units so they are amazing with him x

On week 15 of waiting, I seem to have lost the letter I got stating they have received the forms. Do you know if I can ring up and update without a reference number?

@Lissysmum21 i believe they’ll just ask you a different question for security?

Have repeatedly tried ringing but it's hard as I work 9-5 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and have therapys with liss every other day. Is anyone else still waiting my scan date is the 11th of August

Thank you for this thread, really helpful. We just put our son's DLA in on Wednesday 28th Dec as he was diagnosed with ASD & ADHD on 1st Nov. I've sent in his report, but not much else as he doesn't have therapy for those needs (he gets support at school and they are great), his referral for assessment started Jan 2021. Imagine we will hear in about 12 weeks, which is a shame as I thought it would be sooner. Already get childcare from UC, so hoping they would backdate disabled child element to 28/12. His HV (years ago, he'll be 8 in April) said he has hypermobility in his elbows (I think he has in his other joints too). He needs way more supervision than other kids his age, as doesn't always pay attention / look out for danger (read is away with the fairies most of the time & very high energy), goes through bouts where he doesn't sleep through the night. Needs a lot of persuasion / help with toileting, bed time, etc. but highly articulate & often fixed interests. High anxiety about things like thunder storms. Not sure everything is clear on form. Unfortunately he had play therapy 2 years late in spring 2022 (covid delays), due to he was likely sexually assaulted/abused by a staff member at his nursery (he disclosed to us when nearly 4, but too wide a window, not enough evidence to bring any charge). I could send that & ed psych report, but full assess report more current. Fingers x he is awarded as believe his ASD & ADHD will always impact on his life & education. I sent claim & report via tracked and signed for.

Also we are in Wales, they have ALN act & One Page Profile here, so there is no chance of an EHCP (me & hubby have mostly worked in England, he's a primary teacher, I'm an FE college careers advisor).

AprilFools2015 · 30/12/2022 11:03

Teachers section completed on form & his yr 1&2 teacher and yr 3 teacher (who was also one of his Reception teachers) have signed it.

Lissysmum21 · 04/01/2023 12:18

Elysia-Jane was sadly refused, never got sent a letter stating this I phoned for an update to be told she had been refused nearly a month before. I put in a reconsideration and weirdly I just had a phone call from Universal Credit asking if any of Elysia-Jane's care needs had changed and that I would after the call had been completed hear a decision in 7-10 working days has anyone else had UC ring about a reconsideration?
