DLA wait times August 2022

I made a claim for DLA 5th August so thought id start this for others who have made a claim same time!!!
My little boy has kabuki syndrome, severe hypotonia, feeding difficulties and sleep difficulties. Very anxious waiting a decision!!!!

@Gemma96x 6es and ive rang this morning at 9am and still not been looked at. They must see his and think 'i aint doing that one!' 🤣🤣 he was at alder hey friday and he has been diagnosed with dysphagia. He aspirates when feeding spchas an unsafe swallow so i got the lady to add that on the form too! 😫 i know its hard to get dla for a baby but surely all his health needs qualifies him! X

It's getting ridiculous I though we would know by now they told us that over the weekend there will be a decision not much hope at the moment x

I have just got a text saying he has been awarded I’m so so happy will call later to find out rates my scan date 2nd August

I've just got off the phone with them and ours is now with a decision maker, so hopefully whoever it's with will get to it before the end of the week, fingers crossed....

Finally people are getting answers I'm 3rd august so probably next week for me x

@Gemma96x I sent in his physiotherapist report and peaditrician report. He saw the peaditrician again since I submitted the application so I sent the new report in aswell which clearly stated what areas my DS was delayed in x

Ive rang again! He said its with a decision maker but because its over the time he has marked it as urgent so it will be looked at first. This is just a lie isnt it 🤣🤣

Hello everyone, I've had a letter from a decision maker from uc, they are backdating my daughters disabled element at high rate to July, do they put the money in with your next uc payment or do they send it out separately?? Any help would be much appreciated xxx

They will give you a letter with how much they owe you and the date the money will be paid. It is normally within a few days not with your next UC payment. Then when you next get paid you will get £400 something extra. X

I called this afternoon for an update , scan date 10th august, she said they are working up to and including the 8th this week so should be looked at in the next week and said current time is 15weeks x

I sent all of her paediatric and gastro reports, copy of all the meds she takes, but also might have gone abit extreme and sent her full medical reports from gp and hospital as shes been suffering since 10months old and she has just turned 9! New consultant advised to claim dla just wish someone had told us 9 years ago x

Thank you for getting back to me, I've had a letter out on my online journal and it says... the decision maker has reviewed the reasons for the delay in notifiying us of the change. On this occasion it has been decided that special circumstances apply and your Universal Credit will be adjusted for the higher rate disabled child element from 16/07/2022.... the haven't said if they are sending it separately or given a date 🫥 I never knew she was entitled to anything from uc so I'm confused xx

Just received the text saying my little boy qualifies! Ringing to find the rates! Dont give up hope!!!! I was so sure he was too young only being just over a year! X
