DLA wait times August 2022

I made a claim for DLA 5th August so thought id start this for others who have made a claim same time!!!
My little boy has kabuki syndrome, severe hypotonia, feeding difficulties and sleep difficulties. Very anxious waiting a decision!!!!

@MissEllie2 i know its not based on a diagnosis but i do think they should give people dla if they have a formal diagnosis! My daughter recieves DLA, she doesnt have a diagnosis but im awaiting the outcome of my sons claim and he has been given a diagnosis so he is classed as disabled. Cant help but get annoyed if he isnt awarded anything 😫

Yes considering it is disability living allowance I also believe that having a diagnosis should have some form of impact on receiving it but apparently it doesn’t!

I rang yesterday and they said they are working last week of July I am august 19th and said allow another 4 weeks

I've just read another thread that says she has rung and there on 24/25th July xx

Hi all, I sent off a DLA renewal form for my daughter about 2/3 weeks ago. I sent it special delivery, and it’s been received by someone. I haven’t had a text or letter saying it has been received yet… I remember getting one last time. Any idea how long it takes to get that message? Or if they don’t do it anymore? I don’t really fancy spending hours on hold trying to ask them!

It was about 2 weeks until I got confirmation letter about them receiving my new claim in August. Remember Royal Mail have been on strike too so maybe give it until Monday and if nothing then definitely give them a call x

I called this morning was told working up to 26th july this week. Scan date 10th august he said its still waiting to be assigned to a DM but should be done in next 2 weeks x

Mine is the 19th august and yesterday they told me to allow for 4-6 weeks ring after 4 if not heard anything x

It shouldn't be much longer x

Yeah driving me crazy don't think my son will get awarded due to lack off evidence as I o ly sent his asd diagnosis in with the form also had no help in filling the form out 🙁X

@Gemma96x there are plenty of people who have done the same and have been awarded! 🤞🏼

Definitely not luck of the draw they have a strict criteria to follow, and also we have every opportunity to appeal if needed. My thoughts is you can’t miss what you haven’t had yet. So ladies of you don’t get the outcome you hoped for them take it all the way to tribunal. The wait time is horrendous but I hope that means they are looking at every application properly so all these children get the rates they deserve xx

I think it’s so stressful because I know personally the allowance for my son would be so helpful and knowing that he deserves it and the fate of it is in hands of someone who doesn’t know him or me gives me anxiety 😟 4/5 more weeks to go!

My sons award was given on the 27th Oct.
Scan date was 25th July.

They told me there working up to the 3rd august this week x

I'm guessing elysias will be looked at either next week if I'm lucky or the week after. Hers was scanned on the 11th of August
