DLA wait times August 2022

I made a claim for DLA 5th August so thought id start this for others who have made a claim same time!!!
My little boy has kabuki syndrome, severe hypotonia, feeding difficulties and sleep difficulties. Very anxious waiting a decision!!!!

I’m sorry 😣 it’s such a stressful time. I would absolutely call them tomorrow and just ask if there is an update and they should be able to tell you over the phone. I think it depends which DM they have gone to but seeing a lot of people saying they’ve been awarded. I think from what I see they have called and been told over the phone before a letter! Look out for a payment in your bank too if you’ve not received a text or don’t want to call them up. Try and keep positive! Got my fingers crossed for you x

My daughter has been awarded 😱 I've not herd anything from them but the money is in the account this morning. Im in complete shock I was gearing myself up for a letter to say she didn't qualify xxx

I woke up and saw the notification from the bank and I will admit I cried! I'm still in disbelief, I've jumped through hoops for my daughter and feel like I'm coming to the end of a very long battle! I think she has got mrc lrm from the payment I've received, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you all 😘 xx

Weez 88 when was your forms scanned x

My scan date was 19th July, I've just rung them and it was awarded on Thursday they have confirmed it's for hrc xx

Ok my forms was scanned 3rd august I'm dreading the outcome for my son as I only send his diagnosis report in as that's all I have x

I rang them earlier and was told no later than 2 weeks for a decision x

My scan date was 21/07/2022, awarded today.

I’m so nervous, I honestly feel like this point it’s just luck of the draw 😣. I probably have about 4 weeks left so going to send more info

Hi guys just found this one, I’m following another thread too and people on 26th July scan date are starting to be awarded, apparently working on 27th next week…

im august 16th scan date and worked out we should find out 22nd nov going off other peoples claims 🙈

I phoned today my date is august 19th and she said if not heard in another 4 weeks to call up.

Also said they are working on claims end of July at present

Yeah! Hopefully we all get good news! I know I didn’t send enough evidence in as I sent nothing in at all. My daughter was referred to the social communication pathway 11 months ago for suspected autism and she is 3 1/2 and non-verbal. I never got any confirmation for referrals and the only support I was given was from speech and language. This week she has now got a community nursery nurse referral , having 1 to 1 home visits with Rodney house and may be getting a paediatrician referral. Just hope I can get written proof of these referrals or the symptoms and problems they have witnessed with my little girl to send off in time.

Don’t worry, mine is about the same except I had supper form nursery and hv, and EHCP- remember it goes on their care need no diagnosis. I did wrote a lot for how hard and challenging it is to look after my child - who is extremely similar to yours- it’s about showing how much extra support and care they need to a child of their age. Don’t panic!

It’s nice to hear from people in the same boat. No nursery will take my daughter as she will NOT keep any clothing in, no matter how hard I try. Me too there care page was full! It’s unfair isn’t it the stuff out kids go through and how much it would benefit them and allow us to support them the way we know best. I really do hope all of us on here get good news! X

I didn’t even know dla was a thing I only applied as my nursery told me to so then can get additional funding, he already has a 1-1 50% of the time he is there and is supported by cdc nursery

It’s so hard to prove how much care you give them at home because no one is there. I’ve sent my sons ASD diagnosis report which obviously doesn’t count for much as it’s based around care needs not diagnosis, his SEND plans from school, sleep diary, gp records of medication for his sleep, asthma hospitalisations and his referral to rheumatology and I got his TA from school to fill in the professional section. The only thing is that at home I can’t really give evidence of the care I provide other than my own words! I honestly think at this point it’s luck of the draw as to whether you’re denied or awarded 😣

It’ll all work out! We are on the last stretch now, can’t wait to hear all the outcomes! Hopefully all of your children get awarded ❤️
