I lost 4lbs this week - really pleased with that although I know first week losses are often quite large and will almost certainly be a smaller loss next week. But still, not far to being where I was before the Christmas gain.

I got a soup maker for Christmas and am amazed at how easy it is! So lots of soups on the menu for the next few weeks I think.

Hippywannabe · 13/01/2025 21:21

I weighed and had lost 2lbs so I have my stone. I packed a nice lunch then got to school and had forgotten we were on a trip.my microwave lentils were no good so had a school packed lunch.
Not too bad as I gave a child my biscuit and popcorn so just had 5he cheese and ham roll.
Leftover Xmas beef and cauliflower cheese (made with the seriously cheese spread) for dinner.
On the whole a good day,
In bed, I ate an entire packet of biscuits. 😱😭😱😭😱😭

suki1964 · 14/01/2025 00:48

Great losses @tealightning and @Hippywannabe

Soup is a slimmers friend @tealightning , so a brilliant pressie. I make mine in the multi cooker and use a stick blender, I just dont have anymore room for anymore gadgets

@Hippywannabe , dont beat yourself up, esp as its weigh in day, you have a week to claw it back

I was so good today, had my overnight oats and a coffee when I got in and then tonight I made doner kebab. Was lovely tbh :) Even bought a bottle of sparkling water flavoured with lemon and lime to try up my fluids , and just been a finished the last mince pie :)

Not one of us are saints, we just have to get back on track tomorrow

ChocolateTea · 14/01/2025 19:08

Well done @tealightning and @Hippywannabe

i was a sts today. Happy with that, I’ve not been doing the speed, switching out for baked beans instead where I’ve been cold, and I’ve been right up to my syn allowance every day. I didn’t do anything “off plan” but the extra snacks of baked beans, scrambled eggs etc, are extra calories after all. I’m hoping now it’s warmer it’s easier!

CrowsInMyGarden · 14/01/2025 20:30

I'm such a failure! I did what I so often do. I have been doing Dry Jan and not drank since NYE but a friend popped in last night. I opened wine, shared the bottle. When they left I had a couple of unnecessary beers and almost a whole family size bag of Ready Salted. I had been so good all week! Supposed to go to group tonight but I didn't go. Does anyone else sabotage themself like this? What was I thinking? Had a bit of hangover this morning and felt terrible but I had a coffee and forced myself to have porridge and berries even though I was longing for a greasy veggie sausage/white bread combo. Made myself go for a swim and somehow stuck to plan for the rest of the day. What a wally.

LikeThatNotThat · 14/01/2025 21:21

@CrowsInMyGarden I sabotage myself ALL the time 😫 there's always an excuse - life's too short, I deserve this, why do I need to be skinny anyway, BUT I LIKE WIIIINNNEEE 😂
Its so hard but it happens, we draw a line under it and tomorrow is another day...

CrowsInMyGarden · 14/01/2025 21:25

@LikeThatNotThat At least it is not just me. Onwards and upwards!

suki1964 · 15/01/2025 05:01

CrowsInMyGarden · 14/01/2025 21:25

@LikeThatNotThat At least it is not just me. Onwards and upwards!

Not just you, all been there, on more then one occasion :)

Pre DJ, Id often turn up for weigh in after being on the sauce the night before, knowing that I had cocked up, but I still went and weighed in. 99/100 Id get away with it - maybe have lost a pound or stayed the same. Now and then a gain would show. But I took it on the chin and moved on.

So dont be beating yourself up. You havent failed, you are going the scenic route thats all.

Start again today. Every day you stick to plan or stay dry is a win.

Keep hold of the fact that you had a run of 12 days without a drink and that is a huge win

tealightning · 15/01/2025 10:24

Definitely not just you! After weigh in this week I ate a load of shortbread we got for Christmas - I don't even really like shortbread but it was the only treaty thing we had in the house! Just remember one day won't ruin all the good work you've put in.

LeftyLou · 15/01/2025 23:26

Another half off for me this week.
Fingers crossed I'll get my 1 and half next week. Think I am near to my club 10 too.

How has everyone's week been. Going to look through the thread tomorrow 😊

Doddler · 18/01/2025 20:30

Good evening fellow lifestyle followers 😉

Two weeks since I last checked in?! Not even sure where the time goes.....

Clocked a ½lb gain today. Boo. It is what it is, take it on the chin and march onwards.

I've got 2 weigh ins to my self set goal, 25/01 & 01/02, and 6lbs to lose in that time 🙈

Achievable, I'm not so sure now as high weekly losses aren't my 'thing'.

Aims for this week:

  • put value on myself, my priorities, and what I'm trying to achieve. Put myself first, where possible.
  • drink more water. Placebo but most ppl in group today that had good losses were well hydrated.
  • aim for some body magic. I am conscious that I am pretty sedentary.
  • plan, plan, and plan some more. It's only 6 breakfasts, 6 lunches, and 6 main meals. I need to have it under control.
  • be kind to myself. This is a marathon, not a sprint and I'll (we'll) all get there at the end.

On a comical note, I'm 9 weeks into a 12 week countdown and had expected to lose 29½lbs in that time 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'll be buying another countdown, aim for 6 weeks, and see how it pans out as I've lost 10lbs to date.

Hoping everyone has a good week. Be gentle with yourselves!

Edited to add total weight loss.

suki1964 · 19/01/2025 04:57

After two weeks of doing everything by the book and only 2.5lb off, I cracked yesterday and went on the lash

Feeling a tad fragile this morning

Still a line has been drawn and Im back on plan today

Dontsparethehorses · 19/01/2025 05:03

Morning all, can I join? 8 years ago I lost 4 stone on SW and kept it all off for about 4-5 years before life threw a curve ball and it’s all back on. So I rejoined in Jan and done my first 2 weeks - lost 5lb so hoping for 2lb more for half stone award 🤞
I’ve tried half heartedly a few times over last year but feeling motivated to do it properly because of the realisation I’m totally back at heaviest again. Nothing fits and I loved the ‘new’ which is now ‘old’ me and the confidence I had when I felt good about how I looked!

suki1964 · 19/01/2025 06:05

Welcome aboard @Dontsparethehorses

Aye there's nothing as nice as the new you is there? Im loving being back to where I was for most of my life and this is why I still go week in and week out, because I don't want to go back to where I was before I got my sorry arse through the door

I was never ever ever happy being fat. I used to kid myself that I was ok, "who's going to be looking at me? " as I slouched about in joggers and leggings and tents passing themselves off as tops

Im still carrying middle aged spread, still have a belly, Im never going to look svelte but Im so much happier being so much lighter. I have so much more confidence and am doing so much more with my life , I never turn down invites now

Well done on the great start xx

AperolWhore · 19/01/2025 06:26

Hi guys! I’ve just found this post and I joined slimming world again on the 30th of December to kickstart 2025.

I weighed 21 stone 15 years ago and got down to 13 stone. I had my daughter and slowly but almost 3 stone on. Most of it last year due to work stress.

I weighed in at 15.10 this time and I’ve lost 4.5lbs each week so I’m down to 15.1

My goal is 14 by the end of Feb.

FishPie2 · 19/01/2025 12:17

Can I ask about subs (or whatever they are called). If I go this week and then miss 1 as I go out for the day then go the next week - what happens. Do you have to pay for the 1 you missed ? I know you are allowed hols but can't remember what happens when you miss a week.
My meeting would be on a Saturday which makes it akward over the weekend.

suki1964 · 19/01/2025 13:14

Unless you book it as a holiday you are charged for it. However you can pop into another group if you can't make your own. I go Saturday mornings and when I can't make it I go to one held on a Friday

Wilma55 · 19/01/2025 14:31

Great to see so many contributions on this thread and some really good losses.

At our group if you miss a week they ask you next week if you want to take it as holiday, though I know you are meant to book in advance.

Just bought a soupmaker off fb marketplace for £8 - bargain! Couldn't justify a new one in case it's a 5 minute wonder. Butternut squash soup underway! Any suggestions for low syn soup maker soups please? Have found some recipes online.

red pepper and tomato is a favourite here

1 large red pepper
2 pointed red peppers
5 vine tomatoes
1 red onion
garlic
salt/pepper and stock
and then we either flavour with chilli or with ginger

ChocolateTea · 19/01/2025 18:08

If you book at 12 week countdown you have to book “holidays” in advance. However you can go to another group just to weigh if needed that week.

im still plodding on here. Sticking to plan and walked yesterday and today to hit my steps

Wilma55 · 19/01/2025 18:57

Thanks @ChocolateTea that sounds right up my street. The bns soup was good, I added some creamed coconut. Should have used less water but it's early days!

This sounds lovely. I'd throw in some red lentils to make it a bit more filling (but still syn-free!)

tealightning · 19/01/2025 19:20

Weekends are hard aren't they? I had a really good week but today and yesterday haven't been so great! We haven't really been anywhere either, I've just snacked on things at home. Sigh. Tomorrow is another (weigh in) day.

DeterminedCaz · 20/01/2025 11:17

Hi all! I can’t believe where the time has gone - I’ve not checked infor a couple of weeks. All going well here and I’ve lost another 2 1/2 pounds in the last 2 weeks. Happy with that. I’m wanting to try out some new recipes this week so we’ll see how that turns out as I’m pretty lazy really 🤣 If you have any favourite family pleasers please feel free to post as I’m finding it tricky to please everyone

ListenLinda · 20/01/2025 11:41

Hi guys, sorry for the lack of replies etc, we got a puppy last weekend so I have been extremely busy!
Still managed to get to group, another 2lb loss, must be the extra body magic walking my furry little shadow!

Hope everyone has a great week!
