I too braved the meeting scales after the Easter excesses. Pleased to have shed the extra and back to my pre chocolate weight. 3 weeks to hols and 3 above target.....can I do it??

How's everyone getting on in the heat? OH is barbecuing tonight so will have to be careful

Well done Wilma, not long to go or much to lose to get to your target.

I lost a 1lb today, slow going for me but I don’t think I can do this with drastic changes. Having said that, I’d like to see a 2lb loss next week just to get firmly into the next half stone.

Starting weight - 14st 4lbs
CW 13 st 10 1/2

Wilma55 · 06/05/2025 13:44

WI at home this morning and was the same as last week, however lost 1.5lb at SW! Pleased with that as had VE day bbq on Sunday and street party yesterday. 🇬🇧

How did you get on @snowsjoke ?
How's everyone else doing?

snowsjoke · 07/05/2025 18:36

Excellent @Wilma55thats a great loss.

I’ve put on half a pound as I just blew it last week. Went away for the bank holiday weekend and just went mad for some reason. Meals out, huge Sunday roast, cakes x 2 and wine on 3 nights. Fully expecting a 2-3lb gain today so not too disappointed.

I’m away abroad with friends for a few days next week so will miss next weeks class. I’m planning to really stick rigidly to the plan before I go on Sunday and go easy on the drinking. It’s a Mediterranean country so will try for lots of fish and salad.

WFHmutha25 · 10/05/2025 20:39

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of joining up on Tuesday. What syn value are the cartons of the New Covent Garden vegetable soup please? Are quorn sausages free?

Wilma55 · 11/05/2025 07:49

The Linda McCartney red onion and rosemary sausages are free but most quorn sausages have syns. The soup syns vary a lot, is there a specific one I can check for you?

Ah thank you! It's this one.

Since posting last I’ve had two mediocre weeks (deliberately not noticing what I’m eating, over eating processed carbs) and one week of really enjoying sticking to SW plan and curbing snacking… net result is that I’m back to where I was in early April and not quite as low as in late March. It feels like a never ending plateau of my own making! I find consistency so hard…Aiming for a week of salads and lean proteins and avoiding snacks to try to get back to lowest weight and get ready to move below it.

Wilma55 · 11/05/2025 16:43

That soup is 4.5 syns for the 560g pack @WFHmutha25 .

Do you go to group @lenamoore ? I find the "fear" of WI is the best motivator.
Having said that I'm not going this week as it's a pay and weigh only.

OP posts:
WFHmutha25 · 11/05/2025 18:35

Thank you for checking it for me!

lenamoore · 11/05/2025 22:21

Good point. I skipped this week because I didn’t want to face the scales… Now regretting this. Am determined to go next week having got back on track…doing my own weigh in tomorrow to focus my mind. Here’s to a good week for everyone…

PieonaBarm · 17/05/2025 18:18

I’ve been really struggling recently, not sure why, just think I’m in a bit of a rut. But I have started walking in my lunch at work and got my Bronze body magic today and lost 0.5lb which I didn’t expect to. I’m a little more motivated and definitely going for my silver now. Although new puppy that can’t go out yet from next weekend might scupper that, although I figured I could carry him and show him round his new hood for that week 😂

Wilma55 · 18/05/2025 08:16

I'm struggling too, bad habits have crept back. 4 days to holiday so will make determined effort. Hoping this mornings weight increase due to heavy meal plus wine last night!

OP posts:
lenamoore · 19/05/2025 23:31

@Wilma55 Hope you’ve made it to your holiday and are feeling happy with your efforts, whatever the final scales reading is. The ‘fear’ of group you mentioned has had some effect - I went on Sat and it’s helped to jolt me back into remembering why I’m doing this. Onwards we go…

ScentOfAMoomin · 23/05/2025 11:25

I’d like to share my progress after three months - I am 32.5 pounds down now and even I can see the difference. Other people are commenting too, which is motivating.

i definitely notice a difference in the weeks I don’t do as much exercise, so I try to keep a firm eye on that.

i seem to have helluva big bingo wings. Never noticed so much when my arms were heavier! Does anyone have tips to tone them?

snowsjoke · 23/05/2025 14:18

That’s brilliant @ScentOfAMoomin- a real achievement and so good when you notice the difference. Re; bingo wings, I have these too. My friend does weights and that’s meant to help. I also need to step up the walking now as my job is sedentary.

A lb off this week which I’m happy about as I was on a short abroad break with friends. We had a lovely bring and share meeting this week with lots of food ideas to sample. I liked the SW raspberry and mint cake and the yoghurt cake ( I have a sweet cake tooth!). Also there were some ryvita thins cut into little squares, like canapés, topped with quark, sliced radish or pepper and either a fresh prawn or smoked salmon. I’m going to steal that idea for late night snacking.

Stats; SW 14st 4
CW 13st 10

Really going to try for 2lb off this week as there are no breaks, parties, nights out to scupper things although we might go out for Sunday lunch as it’s the bank holiday.
Good luck to everyone this week - keep going.

ravingandbehaving · 24/05/2025 11:29

Can I join? I know it's half way through the year but better late than never!?

I'm 6 months PP with my third (and last) baby, I was genuinely debating stopping BF and going on weightloss injections as I've been yo-yo dieting for years with no luck, just putting on more weight with every baby I've had, and I'm now so overweight and unhappy. I'm a size 20/22 now and was a 14 when I met my husband. I'm a binge eater and really struggle to stop once I start so I need the support and regular check ins. This is really my last ditch attempt. I'm feeling motivated.

I went to my first group on Thursday and it was lovely and so supportive. First weigh in 16st 7.5lbs. I'm tall so never going to be light, but I want to lose 5 stone and I'll be in a healthy BMI.

Been really enjoying the foods I've had so far and feeling good.

First small goal - we go to a wedding in 3 weeks and I'd like to buy a new dress and feel somewhat comfortable and happy with how I look.

ScentOfAMoomin · 25/05/2025 20:54

Welcome - hope you have a fab time at the wedding

Wilma55 · 02/06/2025 12:09

Welcome @ravingandbehaving sorry bits been so quiet on here. How did your wright ins go? Any luck with a dress?

Well I had an absolutely fabulous holiday in Croatia and put on 2.5lb according to my scales. WI at group tomorrow where it's taster session and man of the year (?). Not sure I've got anything to take/make and I'm not going out to buy something special.

ravingandbehaving · 02/06/2025 12:29

Hello ladies!

Had my first weigh in Thursday, lost 3.5lbs in my first week! Very happy with that and considering I'm still breastfeeding I don't want to be having massive losses.

I also bought a dress for the wedding and it looks really nice on! It is a size 20 but that's better than a 22 which is what I was finding myself wearing recently.

I've been walking every day, been swimming with the kids a couple of times and been eating pretty well. I'm still snacking a little bit nowhere near as much. It's very motivating seeing the lbs come off.

ListenLinda · 02/06/2025 15:35

Well done that’s a great first week weight loss!

how have you found the plan so far?

WFHmutha25 · 02/06/2025 15:40

My first week i lost 3.5 lbs, last week 1lb. I'm eating a lot of pasta and seemingly a lot of food. Is it going to work? I don't mean that to sound daft, but I'm new to it and sure the scales haven't moved this week!!! I weigh in tomorrow.

ravingandbehaving · 02/06/2025 21:14

Good luck with tomorrow's weigh in @WFHmutha25 - the way I think of it is, I don't know anyone who has gotten fat from eating unlimited pasta, jacket potatoes and fruit. Are you being 100% honest and keeping a food diary? If so, I'm pretty sure the weight should come off. Bear in mind cycles and times of the month as well. Some points during our cycle we retain an awful lot of water and then it wooshes off the next week. I would trust the process and go by monthly averages.

@ListenLinda I'm really enjoying the plan. I'm finding it's motivating me to eat a lot more fruit and veg than I normally do which is definitely a good thing! I get some extra HExA's due to the breastfeeding which is nice as I can have a fair bit of milk and cheese. The only single thing I'm finding difficult is the HExB. I don't think I realised before how much bread-type stuff I was eating! Only having one a day is a challenge I find as I used to have cereal for breakfast, wraps/toastie/sandwich for lunch, then sometimes another portion as well like if we had burgers for tea or a round of toast before bed! So that's been a bit shock to the system, but definitely an important one!

WFHmutha25 · 02/06/2025 21:41

I think my diet was 70% bread products!

It is my cycle this month that's the issue! I was due on 10 days ago and still nothing! I'm so pissed off. I guess it's my age, but it hasn't happened before. Typical when I'm trying to lose weight publicly!

What I will say, is that I don't really think about food much since I've been following the plan. Maybe it's the reduction in UPFs and sugar.

Wilma55 · 03/06/2025 08:20

@ravingandbehaving you could use syns for more bread if you really want more.
