That must feel great getting back into target @Wilma55

Thankyou @suki1964 🙂.

That's fantastic @snowsjoke well done 😊

I lost 1.5 this week. I've got my 2 and half stone award now. 🎉.

Wilma55 · 03/04/2025 11:35

Welcome @snowsjoke and well done to you and @LeftyLou.

Agree @snowsjoke, it's best to get on it rather than putting it off until after holiday, Christmas, birthday etc, there's always something on the horizon.

Well done @leftyLou, a nice new shiny sticker , you must be so proud of yourself

Well done @Wilma55 , keeping to target is tough and Im always happier if Im just below, which has been a long time for me lately

Getting the tooth removed has really helped. I can eat now :) Which is bringing new challenges cos Im wanting all the carp Ive been living on for the past few weeks PLUS Im wanting the "treats" that I would have had lol

Meal wise Im doing good, it's the snacking that's crept back in that Im struggling with . Just need to work on that , which I am, with varying degrees of success

Welcome aboard @snowsjoke , sounds like you have this cracked. You have to live your life but do the best you can, make the better choices

FishPie2 · 04/04/2025 18:57

Is there a certain time of year when SW offers free joining (other than New Year). I want to go back but don't want to rejoin tomorrow and then they offer it at Easter.
Thanks

Blueoak · 04/04/2025 19:05

Hello everyone again! I disappeared for a while but have been chipping away. Weigh in tomorrow and in 1.5lb from target. Not sure I’m going to achieve that to be honest but will see!

snowsjoke · 04/04/2025 20:28

Thanks for the warm welcome all and it’s very inspiring to hear you all doing well.

I went to a friends for tea last night and she did a ‘skinny’ pork casserole which I had with salad. Unfortunately I did have two slices of garlic bread not realising how many syns they were so I won’t make that mistake again. Family having sausages tonight but I had a Cook meal with veg. It was 8 syns but the sausages were 8 each too and my meal was more filling. Debating whether to have a glass of Friday wine.

Away for a few days tomorrow so that will be a real test. I’ll be more active than I usually am and will try to make healthier meal choices where available. We’re self catering so I should at least be able to control breakfast and lunch well.

Blueoak · 05/04/2025 18:40

Just returning to say I hit target this morning! Am a bit nervous about what it looks like carrying on and not gaining!

Wilma55 · 05/04/2025 20:17

Well done @Blueoak ! Now the hard(er) part begins.

My advice is keep going to meetings, I didnt and put some back on. I've just got in to top of target range again and gone a bit mad food wise.

Enjoy a few treats though!

Hi congratulations!!!
I too would recommend still going to meetings even if its just to weigh in (and buy some hifi bars 😉) and filling in the slim for life journal. Ive been at target for about 5-6
weeks now and ive had some boozy and foody weekends in there and just fluctuated +/- 2lb because this bit is learning about getting the balance right

snowsjoke · 08/04/2025 13:03

Well done to those who have hit target - that must feel amazing.

I’m on a uk short break and it’s been difficult to stick to SW - everything seems to be creamy or loaded with calories and there are some very tasty things.

My activity levels have been higher than usual for me, around 20K steps daily so hoping that helps. Home on Weds night and will be glad to get back on plan. Need to be strict after that.

Wilma55 · 08/04/2025 15:39

Half a pound on today so right at top of target bubble. 6 weeks to holiday so would like to get to target by then ie lose 3 pounds.

LeftyLou · 11/04/2025 21:35

Congratulations on getting to target @Blueoak 😊

I lost 1.5 this week again. I'm starting to think that's my special number 😂

I am away this weekend. It's self catering for the main part and a meal out. So I'm Going to take some low syn treats. Enjoy myself and be flexible with my syns but still try and keep on point where I can. I just don't think I can stay on it 100%.

PieonaBarm · 13/04/2025 15:31

So I’d lost 10.5lb and then went on holiday to Scotland for two weeks where I came home 80% haggis and 20% gin and vodka and had a significant gain 😂 was good tho!

It’s taken me two weeks to get my head back in the game but I lost 3.5lb last week. Have got the lunch pots from Iceland for work this week and I find I tend to have a good week if I have them so fingers crossed 🤞 for Saturday!

lenamoore · 16/04/2025 15:02

Hello all. I joined a local SW group in early Jan and alongside that support have been following your discussions…I’ve been so impressed with all your progress (despite obstacles along the way) so thank you for providing moral support and inspiration…. I started well and in my 1st 4-6 weeks lost just over a stone - was really pleased. Since late Feb, however I’ve yo-yod a bit losing and putting on the same couple of pounds…and may now have put on more by lapsing into snacking... I now really really want to focus properly again and lose atleast another half stone by July.. so instead of lurking, I’m joining in, if that’s ok? I’m my fifties, SW 14st, target 12st 7.. WI day Saturday…

PieonaBarm · 16/04/2025 19:47

Hi @lenamooreim sure I can speak for everyone that you’re more than welcome! I’m the same, did well and then lost it, kind of just getting my head back on track now so hopefully within a week or two the scales will follow!

snowsjoke · 18/04/2025 00:21

Good luck in nearly getting to target Wilma.

2lbs off this week so one more pound to reach half a stone. I feel like I’m eating well but still get the munchies in the evening. I find the 0% Greek yoghurt (I like the Fage one, it’s not too sharp) with a sliced banana is good but would like to find something a bit more like a cake. Our SW leader suggested an oats mixed with egg and then add blueberries. Teaspoon of syrup etc and put in a mug in the microwave. I was only half listening so I’ll ask for that recipe next week as it sounded very satisfying.

Good luck to all over Easter. I’m having a meal out but will be looking at the menu beforehand to make good choices.
SW 14st 4lbs.
CW 13st 12lbs

Aiming for 10% weight loss initially.

FishPie2 · 18/04/2025 10:35

There are lots of those mug cake recipes online if you want it before next week.

snowsjoke · 18/04/2025 18:15

Thanks Fishpie, ideally looking for a free or very low syn one.

ScentOfAMoomin · 18/04/2025 18:38

I lost two and a half this week, ve been really pleased so far, with consistent losses and a stone and a half down in seven weeks.

I go on holiday in six weeks and I would love to have hit six stone by then.

LeftyLou · 19/04/2025 19:02

Welcome @lenamoore 😊

Some fantastic losses 😁

I lost 1 lbs this week. Over the moon as had a weekend away.

Six pounds! To be more than two stone off by my holidays would be fab

suki1964 · 21/04/2025 02:02

I did write a post a while back, obviously never posted it

Well done on target @Blueoak . I second the advice of continuing with meetings, they are free, and you may as well keep the support you have had so far. Ive been going to group for two years now - target member for over a year - ( on and off) and have made some really good friendships

@snowsjoke and @PieonaBarm , city breaks - killers. All that lovely food that just has to be tried........ Still you have to live and learning to manage it is the challenge

@lenamoore , welcome aboard. Snacking is where I still mess up. I snack when Im busy and haven't meal planned or Im cooking food for the family that either I dont like or isnt SW friendly. So Im picking around my dinner - HUNGRY later. For me it's very important that I have a go to meal that fills me and is SW friendly that I actually like. Also if I dont meal plan I find I have too many carbs and then I want more carbs - vicious circle

Great loses for most of you, well done xxx

I last weighed in a week back and was just in target. How? A ruddy miracle because Ive been so very lax of late and bread had been sneaking in ( I usually avoid it ) but my exercise has increased of late so maybe that's helped

And whilst my weight isnt as low as I would like, my body shape must be still changing , pair of jeans I bought last month were a tad tight with the first wear, now they do up without breathing in and the pair I bought at Christmas I can take off without undoing

But I need to get my head out of my backside and stop winging it else its going to pile back on

Wilma55 · 22/04/2025 12:14

Well done on the losses and welcome @lenamoore. I've missed weigh in again today, too many treats over the Easter period with granddaughter. Had curry out and just had what I wanted. Knuckling back down today as 30 days to holiday!

I should take my own advice and go to meetings.

Bought some swimwear which should motivate me, will definitely be taking sarongs to cover up a bit!

snowsjoke · 23/04/2025 23:05

I was thinking of giving today’s meeting a miss as I over indulged during the Easter weekend including wine and a massive roast with all the trimmings. Anyway decided to go and surprisingly lost half a pound which I’m happy with. I really want to focus this week though and try to lose 2 lbs as I have a short break with friends coming up in May. It’d be nice to reach the 1 stone mark by the time I go but I’m not sure that’s realistic. Still - something to aim for.

Also just seen the weather for next week and it’s going to be very warm some days so that’ll spur me on. I hate being big and sweaty when it’s hot - it’s so uncomfortable and I can’t ever seem to find anything cool to wear.
