Apologies, I've been a bit MIA recently.

In truth my leader is absolutely gutted about MMB dying and it's like a cult! She keeps going on about it like it's Conclave!

Anyway, I lost -1.5lbs this week so am 10st 2lbs and feeling like I'm back on it with the better weather.

ListenLinda · 11/03/2025 21:44

Hi everyone. Apologies for being a bit MIA the last couple of weeks!
works really ramping up coming up to tax year end & kids activities are picking up too
since I last posted i’ve lost 5lbs and now lost 1st 1lb.
i was hoping for 2lb this week but I feel like I havent stopped eating!

would anyone like to share any recipes they’ve tried that I can find on the app?
getting a bit bored of my evening meals and need to switch things up a bit too!

LikeThatNotThat · 12/03/2025 09:02

Well done @ListenLinda ! That's a fab weight loss.

I'm a bit stuck in a rut food wise too so not sure I can make any useful recommendations - my dinners are a rotation of about 4 meals (pasta, curry, veggie burger and wedges, jerk "chicken" - I'm veggie so fake chicken!)

LikeThatNotThat · 12/03/2025 09:02

Well done on your weight loss @TomWambsgansSwans 😊

Wilma55 · 12/03/2025 10:08

Hi all, great to see a flurry of posts!

Sts this week, hectic weekend.

I tend to try recipes from the magazine. Only one I can think of that's on the app is Jhopadee pie which is a sort of spicy cottage pie.

There's also this WW one I like...

If you like orzo Slimming eats has a great one using low fat sausage - I use the low fat chicken ones from Aldi. It says soup but it is thick and I have it with veg. SW have stopped her using any of their "words" so she now uses cals.

Wilma55 · 13/03/2025 08:12

I used to get the the Sainsbury's BGTY sausages which weren't bad but my local branch doesn't do any BGTY products now. Are they still out there?

I lost 1.5 this week and also into the next stone bracket which I am happy with.

I really want my next award but I've got another 3 lbs for that so think I'll aim to have that by the end of the month.

ScentOfAMoomin · 14/03/2025 11:21

I rejoined Slimming World two weeks ago and had my second weigh in today.

i was thrilled to lose 6.5 in week one and 2.5 this week, and I am determined to keep my mojo going.

LikeThatNotThat · 14/03/2025 22:13

No loss for me this week. But no gain either so I guess that's something!

suki1964 · 15/03/2025 09:02

Ive not gone this morning, rotten with a cold and thought Id get a lie in instead, didn't work as Im used to waking early, but it was pure ice outside so I still chose not to go :)

LikeThatNotThat · 18/03/2025 16:14

Back on track here I think. I'm currently vegetarian (was planning to go full vegan for Lent but downgraded to just veggie 😂)

I made a really lovely noodle soup for lunch - fake chicken, veggie stock, sweetcorn, Pak choi, carrots and rice noodles. Splash of lemon juice and a sprinkle of thyme. It was so good and really filling.

Planning a Quorn chilli with rice and tender stem broccoli for dinner.

So far the only syns I've had is my morning Rainbow Dust (yes, faddy expensive nonsense mushroom coffee which I pretend makes me feel better throughout the day) with a splash of milk

I was doing well yesterday until I found two jammie dodgers in the cupboard and snaffled them before I could stop myself 🙄 was still within syns but almost maxed out (14.5) which annoyed me as I try and stay between 5 and 10.

How's everyone else doing? Any nice recipes to share? Any non scale victories? 😊

Wilma55 · 20/03/2025 08:08

Well done the losers and hope you feel better @suki1964? @ScentOfAMoomin great start!

I put on half a pound, been a bit over on syns and also possibly too many grapes, although free full of sugar.

Bit fed up with it really as had great intentions after holiday to lose 5 to get back in target range, yet sts week before last and 1/2 on this week. Will count syns properly this week.

Does that coffee have syns then @LikeThatNotThat ?

OP posts:
LikeThatNotThat · 20/03/2025 08:28

@Wilma55 each serving has 29 calories so I count it as 1.5 syns plus a splash of oat milk for another 0.5 ☺️

PieonaBarm · 24/03/2025 18:40

This is a brilliant book - I love Two Chubby Cubs, and is £3.27 in hardback just now. The authors did SW originally then fell out with it - as everyone is allowed to! Deffo worth the money and all recipes are slimming friendly or easily adapted. I much prefer them to Pinch of Nom!

Wilma55 · 24/03/2025 21:01

Thanks @PieonaBarm you've reminded me that I've got one of their books on my kindle, think it was 99p when I got it. Let us know if you recommend any of the recipes.

2kb off today at WI, chuffed with that. Really cut back on the alcohol thus week. I bought some 0% rhubarb gin and with tonic, ice and a slice it's pretty good for 1 syn.

Not sure how long I can keep it up but now only 1/2 above top of target range.

What sort of weekend did you all have?

OP posts:
LeftyLou · 27/03/2025 16:34

That's great @Wilma55 😀

I lost 1.5 last week and another 1 this week. Just missed out on my 2 and half stone award. Still happy though.

suki1964 · 27/03/2025 18:55

You girls are smashing it

TBH Im none too well. I cant shift this cold, surviving on 2 to 3 hours of very interrupted sleep and severe mouth pain, so I can barely eat, so when I do its not good stuff - just flabby white food

But this week Ive a bit more energy so made Dahl so at least I can get that in me. Also fallen in love with cottage cheese - and who knew that lidl low fat at 80p is 1 syn, yet the "high protein" ( less protein than the low fat ) @ 90p is syn free?????

Im cooking a chicken mess tonight. Brown rice and a casserole made with chicken quarters , I browned them, cooked over a bed of carrots, celery, carrots, garlic. sweet potatoes and onions, shredded the legs, kept the thighs whole, stirred in spinach and peas, used the Polish seasoning as the gravy and will stir in a tablespoon of yoghurt ( home made fat free and as greek as possibly can be when made in NI ) to lighten it

Ive been struggling because Im so low that cooking is just one thing too much of late. So Ive been throwing high fat, high calorific , quick made dinners up for him and her, and living mostly on dust and fresh air - till I reach for the soft cake

Wilma55 · 28/03/2025 11:54

Well done @LeftyLou, hope you get the sward at the next weigh in.

Sorry you're not well @suki1964 there's a lot of cold type things going about. Sometimes you just have to eat what you fancy or what's available. Are you the only cook in the house?

I'm really loving the Polish seasoning and use it in all my soups.

OP posts:
suki1964 · 29/03/2025 12:48

Glad you are enjoying the seasoning, its on Clubcard offer this week - 75p, but I bought back a couple of Kilo bags of it from Krakow

Went weigh in today and since last weigh in a month ago, 1.5lb gain, so not horrendous considering Ive been mostly off plan and devouring white bread, cake and chocolate and barely eating anything healthy at all

I did manage the chicken mess - first meal of the week I had got in me and last night I did them air fryer fish and chips so finished the last of the Dahl over some chips - soft, I cant manage anything that's harder or sharp. Im having pasta tonight and tomorrow is roast beef, but its not, Im putting everything in the slow cooker - spuds, carrots, parsnips, and letting the veg soak up the meat juices, soft and flavoursome . Ill make some yorkies in the air fryer and that will do them - and me

Yep Im the only cook. Mum can manage to make a sandwich and her cereal but anything hot now she's not safe with and DH cant cook to save his life - his repertoire is toasties in a bag and microwave pasties

This cold is just really dragging me down. Ive no energy, Im constantly cold, tired, and just plodding.

Getting older is a right PITA at times

LeftyLou · 29/03/2025 20:01

Hope you're feeling better soon @suki1964 💐

Thank you @Wilma55 😊 I am keeping my fingers 🤞

suki1964 · 31/03/2025 20:55

@leftylou, sorry I missed your amazing results - go you xx

Still got the cold, but it is easing, just the hacking cough that comes on ad hoc

Had the dentist today, was meant to be finishing the root canal started 3 weeks ago, but I said change of plan, pull this one . My last remaining eye tooth. Ive fought to hold onto it for years now but had to call it a day . Yet another infection - that's 4 in the past year ( baggy sockets - I am old officially lol ) . Hopefully now I will be able to eat a more balanced diet and look forward to eating again and get back on track

And joy, postman arrived as I was walking out the door - letter from Dentist - going private from July - £120 to walk in the door for a check up and scale and polish !!!!!

Still Ive been lucky to have got to this age with NHS I guess

Onwards and upwards ( only downwards, I need to get down to target )

Wilma55 · 02/04/2025 14:17

How are you feeling now @suki1964?

Well I lost a pound yesterday so now 1/2lb under top of target range - I took my fitbit and glasses off just to make sure! Had a couple of 🍷 last night so must get back on it today.

OP posts:
snowsjoke · 02/04/2025 23:54

Glad to join. I started last week and had first weigh in today. 4lbs off which I was delighted with as I had 3 meals out.

I have a short break coming up next week also. I could have waited to start but thought I need to start now and make this work and fit in with my lifestyle. So I had a tandoori dish at an Indian restaurant instead of a creamy curry, no breads plain rice and a couple of spoons of dhal. In a gastropub I had a steak and salad but forgot to say dressing on the side. No chips. Then cafe meal was poached eggs, tinned tomatoes and a slice of wholemeal toast. Rest of the week all my usual stuff but without oil or butter. It didn’t feel too difficult and I had wine too. I’m going to need to be more careful whilst I’m away as there’ll be more eating out.

SW 14,4
CW 14 st week 1

Would really like to get to 10% off as that seems achievable. After that would aim for 2 stone then 3 stones. I have to break it down psychologically as otherwise it feels unachievable.
