it will be good if this becomes more active! another half pound off, slowly and surely... so now just one more stone to go.

SnowOnTheRooftops · 14/05/2023 08:32

I maintained this week, didn't have any days off plan. Not the first time this has happened either. I'm still losing over all but it's a bit of a drag compared to last time I done SW and lost almost 5st. Back then if I stuck to it I always had a loss.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/05/2023 13:37

I am 3lbs off 3 stone loss, I can't quite believe it ,this is the longest I've stuck at a 'diet' ( only started in November) and most I've lost. It's been so easy. I've celebrated by having sausages and eggs and mushrooms for breakfast 🤣

Ralphiesaurus · 29/05/2023 03:47

Can I join? 5 weeks in and 15.5lb down. Am really enjoying it, and can already feel the benefit!

LeftyLou · 08/06/2023 19:19

I am starting a fresh! Asked my consultant to erase all progress. So I am now on week one. Got to get my head back in the game!

Starting weight
13 stone 1

First interim
12 stone

Target weight
9 stone

Some really good results on here! 😊
I am wondering what are some favourite breakfasts and lunches? I don't want to get in the habit of having the same things and getting bored.

SantaFeSister · 10/06/2023 19:40

So I've been back on slimming world for nearly 4 weeks. Doing the online membership.. I've lost 9lbs.. I've got 2 stone to lose.

My birthday is coming up and I'm worried about how to navigate this because I don't want it to trigger a binge..

I thought perhaps about being on plan all day up to dinner then maybe having a treat dinner?

Any ideas on how to navigate an up coming celebration?

storminamooncup · 10/06/2023 21:39

Hi I'm also new.

I plan to join again in 2 weeks if that makes sense, as I'm going on holiday.

I've done SW before and lost nearly 5 stone, but I'm ashamed to say I put it all back on and more. Lockdown didn't help.

Last time around, there were lots of instagramers offering discounts on things like the chocolate boutique etc and that helped me with low syn treats but all of that seems to have stopped now - did SW step in, or are there still good Instagram accounts out there with discount codes and treat recommendations? Can anyone recommend some good instagramers to follow? I find it helpful to get inspiration and also good to know what treats I could have as I struggle to follow a diet without any treats!

whoathisisheavy · 11/06/2023 15:53

I'm new to the thread too, doing SW online for the first time (tried classes in the past but they weren't for me). I've got a lot to lose and I'm hoping this will be a source of inspiration!

If it was me, I'd be good all week until birthday teatime and then enjoy a treat meal and make sure I was back on plan the day after. I'd prepare myself for a gain at weigh in but I'd be willing to take that for the sake of my birthday. That is me though - and my birthday isn't until the autumn!

BelandtheDragon · 14/06/2023 08:15

Hi all I’ve been doing SW for 6wks and got my 1 stone award last night. Have lost 15 pounds in total. Have 2 more stone to lose to take me to BMI of 25 as I am worried about trying to maintain a lower weight and not falling back into old ways. I’m walking lots too and running 3 times a week. Although I’ve only lost a stone or so, it’s been great being able to wear some old clothes and buy some new ones. I just wish it would happen a bit quicker but trying to be patient. Am averaging around a 2 pound loss per week so trying to keep this up for next few months.

LeftyLou · 14/06/2023 23:41

Lost 2.5 lbs this week taking me to 12 stone 12.5.

Think @whoathisisheavy has given excellent advice re the birthday. I think things like our birthdays are important to enjoy ourselves a little bit more.

@BelandtheDragon I agree. Wish it was off yesterday but know it went on rather slowly and gradually so it won't come off over night. I think 2 lbs per week is a great target.

@storminamooncup what kind of treats do you like? Sweet Some good ones I find are

Edible sweet kebabs.
This is mikado sticks with favourite fruit
Meringue with fat free yogurt and fruit
Sweet and salty pop corn

Hope everyone has had a lovely week.

BelandtheDragon · 14/06/2023 23:48

Thanks leftylou. I lost 2.5lbs also this week. I’m 12.5 and a half aiming for 10 and a half. Focus is now to get to 12 over next few weeks. My leader talked yesterday about making swaps for things that we spend our syns on. I tend to spend them on chocolate. It gives me something to look forward to and stops me craving it. I don’t currently want to swap it for something else (apart from bread 😁).

storminamooncup · 15/06/2023 07:44

It has to be chocolate. I cannot go a day without something chocolatey.

SantaFeSister · 15/06/2023 09:42

Sigh, feeling a bit fed up - stuck to it religiously and put on a pound today on weigh in day :( it's my birthday this weekend and was going to allow myself one cheat meal for it as I have stuck to the plan religiously for nearly 4 weeks, feel like it's going to damage me further if I have the McDonald's I was planning to!

Just have the Macdonald's and don't have any subs for 2 days to compensate. I do this sometimes then the following week I lose. Look at the kids over the month not the week.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/06/2023 09:52

Syns not subs

LeftyLou · 15/06/2023 16:43

@BelandtheDragon sorry missed it before but congrats on the 1 stone award 😁

@SantaFeSister you're not due on soon are you?

BelandtheDragon · 15/06/2023 18:43

Absolutely agree with MrsPelligrinoPetrichor. It’s the overall trend that counts. None of us will have a smooth decreasing line with no bumps. Birthdays are once a year!! Happy birthday for the weekend! 🎂

BelandtheDragon · 15/06/2023 18:51

I’m on my way out to dinner for a colleague’s leaving party. Seems to be a Middle Eastern type restaurant. Starters don’t have cals but thinking lentil soup although a tad warm in London for it today 🥵. Chicken for main. Might pass on pudding. Seems to be one option: baklava (which I love)! Haven’t used any syns today and kept carbs low. Feeling hungry. Haven’t had any alcohol since I started 6 wks ago but not much of a drinker anyway so I will stick to soft drinks.

As an aside, I bought a couple of pairs of chino type trousers 2 weeks ago in size 16. They are a bit on the big side but I tried size 14 on and would have had to remove my liver to get them to fasten. That’s my next non-scale victory when l reach my next stone loss so more important than cocktails (this evening anyway).

Wilma55 · 17/06/2023 14:06

@LeftyLou apologies for long delay to your earlier Q about how often target members need to weigh....there is no time but if you do t weigh for 8 weeks you lose the app. Just back from France and had loads of frites! So much for the Mediterranean diet! Really must get on it but will weigh in at home on Monday and start again at group next week.

Great to see so many new names and be good to see this thread active again.

LeftyLou · 21/06/2023 22:29

Hi @Wilma55 thankyou 😊
Weighing in every 8 weeks isn't too bad. I am a long way off target. But I can imagine it can ease up time not having to go every week. Although I do love my group. Hope you had a lovely time in France also!

Lost 1 lbs this week taking me to 12 stone 11.5 now got 11.5 lbs til my first interim target. Just got to keep going.

Wilma55 · 22/06/2023 06:22

Weighed in at home on Monday and I was 9.5 over 🎯 but am just cutting back this week, no biscuits, less wine etc. The Saturday group I "usually" go to is possibly changing from 2 meeting times to one which will reduce flexibility- hope they don't start too early!

Well done @LeftyLou and yes thanks had a lively time in Normandy, hot but not excessively so like here.

BelandtheDragon · 22/06/2023 08:19

Only 1/2 pound off this week. Felt very disillusioned as generally been on plan. Had an encounter with a lemon drizzle cake last night as felt tired and hungry but friend contacted me to go for a run with her. So ran 10.5km with her and felt a lot better for it. I had this idea in my head that I’d lose at least 2 pounds every week but reality is kicking in plus has also given me a reminder to stay more focused on plan. Trying to avoid chocolate this week and yesterday’s syns were spent on a seeded protein bagel thin.

Ralphiesaurus · 23/06/2023 06:41

9 weeks in and 20.5 lb down. Was a bit miffed to only lose 1.5 last week so didn't quite get my 1.5 stone award but it's coming off steadily which feels good. I've got a long way to go though. Years of yo yo dieting and (I now recognise) food addiction... sugar and flour. It's much easier for me to stick to plan if I avoid them. So I'll have a baked potato and that's fine, or rice, but I avoid pasta and bread. I do like a Calippo though - seems to be enough sugar without triggering me.

BelandtheDragon · 23/06/2023 20:07

Well done ralphiesaurus, I’m about 7-8wks in and lost 15.5 pounds to date. 20.5 pounds is fab. I’m sure you’ll get your 1.5 stone award next week. Am hoping for my club 10 and 1.5 stone award in next couple of weeks. I’m back on chocolate! Miss it too much😀
