Not trouble per se @LeftyLou just not very enthusiastic. She only tends to say well done to the people who are losing like 4 pounds a week. I'm stuck in a countdown at the moment so can't leave yet. I'm finding myself weighing and leaving rather than staying for group as it's really difficult to listen anyway as the acoustics aren't great (I'm deaf) plus the talks don't really appeal to me plus it's like a 30 min drive away each way so takes up alot of the evening. I'd rather spend the time in the pool and sauna tbh if I'm driving to town 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/03/2022 16:23
@LeftyLou never had turkey rashers are they a decent bacon alternative? I tend to get lean back and trim the fat off but you end up with such a small piece Sad
I do really like the turkey ones and they are only 32 calories. However, I think bacon is better.

B: scrambled eggs and salmon 2 satsumas

L: prawn and salmon cocktail 0.5 spinach

T: Homemade pasta bologanse

@JingleAndTonic how are you making your chocolate porridge? If you want to save syns to use elsewhere try 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder and a teaspoon of maple syrup for just 1.5syns and use your A & B.

B: egg and asparagus on toast
L: stir fry rice (cooked rice leftover from last night) 2 for oil & oyster sauce with lots of veg, soy, ginger garlic, chilli etc
D: more leftovers - spag bol - plus a side salad
Ff yogurt and fruit
Snacks: just fruit and veg today as I'm saving all my syns for a slice or 2 of the DC pizza as I know I won't be able to resist Blush

JingleAndTonic · 26/03/2022 12:44

@lechatnoir usually I use milk for HEA but yesterday as I was having the macaroni at lunch needed to save them both so I used water and a tablespoon of nutella, it was pretty fine but definitely better with milk Grin

BF went out this morning with the dog and appeared back with a greggs breakfast roll the sabateur that he is, something like 37 syns in one of them but it was so good

B - the greggs roll

L - skipping as the roll was plenty filling and we ate at 10am

T - picky bits in the garden, going to try and behave but also make the most of the lovely weather since it's forecast sleet next week where I live Sad

B 2 eggs toast B spinach and milky coffee A
L: banana apple and a packet of French fries (crisps!) 4.5

JingleAndTonic · 28/03/2022 09:48

Yes BF is fairly new, we've been together since the end of last year, ran into each other in the local dive nightclub. We're from the same town and went to the same school so I knew who he was but I'm younger so he had no idea about me Grin we have a lot in common so it's going well so far but he is half to blame for the weight gain!

Back to it today after a lovely mother's day afternoon tea yesterday, hope you all had a great day.

L - aldi noodles (think 8 syns as not low fat) on toast (HEB)

T - smoked haddock kedgeree with a boiled egg

S - salted popcorn (3), babybel (HEA), apple, strawberries and pineapple

using other HEA for milk in tea/coffee

Aww that's lovely @JingleAndTonic glad you are happy

I'm back on it again today after lovely mother's Day weekend.

Here's today.....

B....porridge and pear pretty much my standard breakfast

L....m and s vegetable sushi box. 1syn and it was pretty big! The same size of fish one was 4 syns might get that another time. Have a couple of satsumas but a bit full atm!

D...quick dinner of sausage pasta. DH and I are trying the lidl salt and pepper chicken chipolatas so that's half a syn each I think. Children will have regular chipolatas. Chopped up and mixed with pasta, sweetcorn and some pesto which is 3 syns per tablespoon I think. Rocket and spinach on the side.

I'm debating doing weekly syns. It's 100 a week isn't it? I'm finding I'm not using the 15 in the week but definitely need more than 15 at the weekend! My consultant advises against it and said it encourages a binge purge mentality. But I'd rather scale back in the week and enjoy treats more at the weekend. Surely its the same over the course of a week. Eg my consultant says a bottle of wine is 30 syns so if I had a bottle one weekend night I've blown that day. But a small.glass each night over say 4 nights would be "allowed". But it's the same amount of wine and calories etc. It makes no sense to me?!

lechatnoir · 28/03/2022 14:35

B: egg and spinach on toast B and milk for coffee A
L: speed soup with parmesan A
D: M&S chicken Kiev 12 and broccoli & peas

Snacks: 2 squares of dairy milk 2, a yogurt 1 and banana

Also ignoring Mother's Day tea GrinBlush

I have majority of syns on the weekend. I don't have any during thd week. I would gp ahead and use your syns as you want.

I weigh on a Saturday, so Sunday is back to normal and a no syn week so far it has been working for me.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/03/2022 20:32

I think try it @Plantsandpuddlesuits and see what happens

OP posts:
LeftyLou · 28/03/2022 21:16

I agree with Blondes and BritishDesiGirl try it out @plantsandpuddlesuits see how you get on. Everyone is so different. I take what your consultant says as a bit like saying "everyone should use their syns on snacks or in their meals only" I don't think you going over slightly at the weekend is going to affect much if you are within your weekly syns, which is 105.

getawayfromme · 28/03/2022 22:18

Hey all, excited to join in here!

Today I had -
Snack Two hifi bars (hex b)
Breakfast two eggs, ham and two clementines

Syns - 5 squares chocolate

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 28/03/2022 23:04

Welcome @getawayfromme

GettinTrimmer · 29/03/2022 08:25

Morning all

Just given myself a good talking to. Not following SW since Saturday. I've been here before and don't want to regain the weight I've lost.

Planned today apart from dinner, very busy with poorly DM so not sure what I'll have. Be back later.

Consultants completely tow the line without any room for interpretation, I agree with syn ideas.

JingleAndTonic · 29/03/2022 08:37

Agreed re syns, I try and keep to 10 or less Sunday-Thursday and that gives me at least 55 syns to use Friday and Saturday.

Welcome @getawayfromme !

Sorry about DM @GettinTrimmer caring for someone is hard work, from Saturday was only three days so you won't have done a lot of damage.

L - banana sandwich (HEB, 1.5 syns butter) and strawberries

T - a hello fresh caprese pasta, just going to use frylight instead of oil, bin the olives Envy and count the mozzarella as HEA plus a slice of garlic bread (5 syns)

S - popcorn (3) apple and babybel (part HEA) using other part HEA for milk

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/03/2022 09:24

Welcome @getawayfromme

Sorry to hear about DJ @GettinTrimmer

Whole weekend been write off fir Mother’s Day snd recotion blondes was 5 😱😱

OP posts:
Plantsandpuddlesuits · 29/03/2022 09:33

Thanks for all the confidence boosting re syns allocation I'll give it a go.

Heres today....

B....kvarg raspberry yogurt with blueberries and banana

L... planning jacket potato with pineapple cottage cheese. Am trying the normal one as fat free was grim. I think it's around 2 syns per 100g will scan to check later. Rocket and spinach on side.

D.... really looking forward to dinner. We are having soy salmon noodles. Love this meal. It's m and s soy and ginger salmon which is free with stir fry veg also free and rice noodles can't remember syns off top of head but have had them before and pretty low. Children will have same but chicken instead of salmon.

Will report back with syns for cottage cheese and rice noodles

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 29/03/2022 09:44

Ok so the pineapple cottage cheese is 2.5 syns per 100g and the tub is 250g so basically half a tub for 2.5 syns so that's pretty much what I'll have. It's longley farm brand if anyone's interested and it's lovely.

Rice noodles are 4.5 syns for the whole pack and will share with DH so just over 2 syns for my portion

lechatnoir · 29/03/2022 12:23

I love aSalmon noodle stir fry - you can make it syn free with dried rice noodles Wink

B: sautéed courgette, bacon
Medallions, egg, beans and toast B
L: speed soup and parmesan (half A)
D: cottage pie (1 for flour) and half A for cheesy topping with broccoli plus yogurt 1
Snacks: banana, cherry tomatoes, square of dark chocolate 4

JingleAndTonic · 29/03/2022 15:50

yum @Plantsandpuddlesuits forgot pineapple cottage cheese was a thing, I love it on those cracker bread things, think they're only 1 syn each. Will add both to my shopping as a low syn snack Grin

my tea has changed, it's now hello fresh sausage and bean chilli with rice. still using HEA fir cheese and have put the sausage meat provided in the freezer for a weekend breakfast and swapping for aldi skinny sausages, think it'll work out 1 syn per portion
