All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

That thread is really useful

LeftyLou · 14/10/2022 14:54

@Blondeshavemorefun sorry about your gain. Try not to be too hard on yourself.

@Wilma55 thank you for the thread. Will have a look through there too. I could do with some inspiration too.

I find the cheapest frozen fruit is from Aldi - 1 kg for £2.99 ( I bought today) - Asda is £2.30 for 500 gms. I am buying apples and any other fruit in season and chopping in my food processor for the day.
My most filling breakfast is 35gms of cous cous which is a supposedly a "tweak" with yogurt and fruit but it keeps me full until about mid afternoon.
It will be talked about for ever but if I was going to have cous cous with my lunch why can't I transfer it to breakfast and leave it out of lunch. 😞
The worst breakfast I have had on SW is when I made an omelette with some sweetener in it and added fruit - that went in the bin - and that tomato soup is gross.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 14/10/2022 16:38

Thanks @Carpediem15 . I need a trip to Aldi, and stock up a bit. Frozen fruit at asda has risen quite a lot recently, and I think the pack size may have been bigger than 500g previously. I agree about the couscous! I also like it, when I remember!

LeftyLou · 14/10/2022 16:44

@Carpediem15 what is the tomato soup? They were talking about soup in group a few weeks ago and one was saying about tomato soup and adding baked beans into it 🤮

I had cous cous the other day. I might try it as a breakfast item. I don't think tweaks are bad if they don't affect your weight loss in the long run.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/10/2022 16:58

It’s rank

Hi girls, sorry I was quiet for a bit Hun is away atm and I'm juggling all the kids/ animals/ house stuff so I'm late weighing bin but unfortunately I didn't lose. So that's a 1lb loss on week one and nothing week two. I've no idea what's going on.

LeftyLou · 14/10/2022 23:34

@slimiscoming there could be a number of reasons why you had a maintain this week. The fact you've been so busy could be one of them.

Did you take your measurements before starting? That is good to do because the scales don't always "say" what you have done. That's the frustrating thing when you've done your best.

slimiscoming · 15/10/2022 09:01

@LeftyLou I didn't take my measurements but it's funny you say that cause I do 'feel' like I'm losing. I'm sticking at out until Christmas so that i can say I've tried but it's a little annoying.

Vanderpump · 15/10/2022 10:49

Right, I have started ! How's everyone today?

Wilma55 · 15/10/2022 13:50

It's just over a year since I started SW and I got to 🎯 in February. Weighed in today and put 2lb on so am now only 7lb less than my previous starting weight! I shall blame my birthday but in reality I have just not been sticking to it. Next week we have visitors and are going to a beer festival! Help!

@slimiscoming I agree that taking measurements is a good idea. I bet you will a lot by Christmas.

Good luck @Vanderpump

Carpediem15 · 15/10/2022 14:34

I had one of these years ago. www.rosemaryconley.com/product/rosemary-conley-magic-measure/
I made my own by punching holes in a tape measure and tying bits of coloured cotton in the holes for each measurement. I use this plus a dress that is too small for me to see if fits any different each week.

Dahliasrule · 16/10/2022 16:00

Slimiscoming, and Blondeshavemorefun, hopefully a loss next week. A maintained. Is good though and often followed by a good loss.
Carpediem, that sounds like a good idea with the tape measure.

LightandAiry · 17/10/2022 08:27

Hi all, I typed a post yesterday on here but it seems to have disappeared! I weighed in on Saturday and gained 0.5lb.

How is everybody?

LightandAiry · 17/10/2022 08:52

@Blondeshavemorefun I don't like the look of that soup. I've found a recipe on the Slimming World for carrot & lentil soup that I will be doing today.

@Vanderpump How's is going?

@Wilma55 i know what you mean - life happens. We're off for a uni visit at the weekend stopping overnight, it will be challenging and will probably involve going for a pizza!

*@SpongeBobJudgeyPants ALDI have a good selection of frozen fruit I saw frozen blueberries in there yesterday. I need to get some more fruity Ryvitas, love them with sliced banana

@slimiscoming I had a slow start too, then more started coming off, you and me both hanging on until Christmas

Vanderpump · 17/10/2022 08:55

Hello it's going well thanks. Trying to plan for the week ahed

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2022 10:07

It is rank. It’s the beans I think. Beans do not go in soup!!

I make soup with any left over veg. Always carrots. Then usually onion sweet potato possibly odd parsnip /brocolli from Sunday roast

Dahliasrule · 21/10/2022 13:07

LightandAiry, not seen fruity Ryvitas. Sound lovely.

Need a bit of a push today. Think I am suffering from long Covid. 4/5 weeks post Covid, and still have cough dizziness and some days, like today, so tired can barely keep my eyes open. What I would really like is something warm and sweet to eat to give me energy/comfort. Not sure I will be able to resist.

Carpediem15 · 21/10/2022 15:10

Got those fruity Ryvitas in Asda on Wednesday and they are very moorish, they don't have them in my local ones so will have to wait a while to get some more. They are 2 and half each or 3 biscuits for HeX. - good job I looked it up.

Dahliasrule · 21/10/2022 17:29

Thank you, Carpediem 15. Shall look out for them.
Feeling pleased with myself satisfied my craving by warming a mini pot creamed rice pudding and sinning it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/10/2022 20:55

Sts. Bit annoyed again tbh

LightandAiry · 22/10/2022 07:53

Not a gain though. @Blondeshavemorefun but sorry it's a disappointing wi, let's keep going.

On a uni visit today and booked holiday this week so no weigh in. We're staying in a very grotty apartment which is cheap, it didn't look so bad from the photos, but trying not to look too closely. It's rank. Just one night. Off for breakfast soon and at least there's clean cups for a cuppa here. I wouldn't use the shower though....

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/10/2022 08:17

I know. But a gain last and on plan. Sts this week and tbh been good

this week I’m out for lunch twice so likely to be a gain next week …

Wilma55 · 22/10/2022 10:40

@Blondeshavemorefun can you plan ahead for your lunches out? Last week our consultant said it was rubbish that weight can take a week to catch up after a good week but I disagree so fingers crossed for a loss next week.

I had a 2lb loss but must confess to not having breakfast before weigh in. Out for Chinese tonight so will have to read up on best choices. Any suggestions?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 22/10/2022 13:21

Hi All. Not checked in lately, but hope people are ok. Well done @Wilma55 from memory, black bean sauce things are not too synny. @Blondeshavemorefun can you do that very dull thing of looking at the menu online? @Dahliasrule I found the covid took quite a while to get over. @Carpediem15 fruity ryvita are very nice with a low syn soft cheese on. Yum. @Vanderpump hope the planning is going ok. @slimiscoming hope you've had a better week, and seeing results on the scales as well as feeling lighter @LeftyLou how are you doing? @LightandAiry it's disappointing finding the gaff is not like the pics, but good job, as you say, it's only one night. How was the uni visit? We're away tommorow as it's DH's 60th on Monday, so a couple of meals out. I need to hold back a bit, as I've managed to put on a half pound this week. Need to plan more, and podcast, and walk! We're going to the seaside, so a couple of promenade walks are in order I think.
