All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

Thank you! Blondeshavemorefun.

Looking forward to a hot blackcurrant now it's been mentioned! Mmmmm.

Skipped meeting last week due to generally being too busy - my scales said I'd STS. And now DD starts a tution group for her A levels on the same day and time of my meeting. Happily this week I am not doing the driving as we car pool. So I can go to SW. I don't stay for the group though. I find the meeting motivates me enough, then there's a dance fit class I go straight to at 5.45. Then I'm going out with a friend for tea, which I don't worry about counting and tracking after a good day and an exercise class, just once a week.

Yet another uni visit night away with DD2 this week (Warwick this time) so not sure what next week will bring but I think this week I've been good (apart from DD's birthday on Sat) and there should be a loss on the scales.

Good luck all on your week and WI ahead.

ShakeItOff40 · 06/10/2022 06:23

@DrMadelineMaxwell i think your plan sounds sensible!

It’s hard when there’s ‘stuff’ on (there always seems to be something doesn’t there?!) but I think I’d rather it take longer and be more sustainable rather than miss out, if that makes sense? I like to think it actually helps me to think (although sadly it didn’t help me think when it came to wine at the weekend 😳🙄). slipped onto the wine last night, and feeling it slightly this morning. Will be sensible tonight.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 06/10/2022 09:00

Hi all, hope everyone is ok. I think you gotta live life alongside SW. I would feel very deprived, if I didn't have the odd 'normal going out treat'. This would result in a bigger blow out, possibly lasting years days, down the line. I don't particularly need to lose the weight fast, I just want to lose it!

slimiscoming · 06/10/2022 11:22

So girls weighed in this morning- only lost 1lb which is of course great but I'm major disappointed tbh! I've tried so hard and really counted my syns. When I think of the rubbish food that I have cut out I can't believe it didn't make more of a difference!

Anyone else have a rubbish first week then lose more the following week?

LeftyLou · 06/10/2022 11:56

@DrMadelineMaxwell hope you enjoyed your hot blackcurrant 🙂 sounds like you have a very busy time of it.

@ShakeItOff40 100% agree with you there!

@slimiscoming 1lbs is a great loss! I am sorry you are disappointed though. You never know it might catch up with you next week and have a bigger loss.

I lost another half this week.

Yes I gained 1lb first week and gone on to lose 1.5 stone and still going.

slimiscoming · 06/10/2022 12:35

@Carpediem15 thanks for that bit of encouragement! I think it's made worse that my friend (who admittedly didn't try very hard ) lost 4lb 😢 she has a bit more to loose but it was still a kick in the teeth. However.... on ward and upwards... I'm straight back to it again and hope for a better loss next week

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2022 14:45

rem a lb a week is 4 stone in a year

slimiscoming · 06/10/2022 14:47

@Blondeshavemorefun this is so true. I dunno why I feel so hard done by. I guess I just mentally work better when I get an instant return for my hard work.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 06/10/2022 17:37

2.5LB off. Very pleased with that after STS last week.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2022 18:26

Well done @DrMadelineMaxwell

im unsure about tomorrow. ESP due to Mexican last weekend

LeftyLou · 06/10/2022 20:52

Great loss @DrMadelineMaxwell well done

Good luck for tomorrow @Blondeshavemorefun

Has anybody got the Eat, Plan and Be Merry diary? There is a section "My Christmas Advent Calendar" not sure what sort of things to put on there.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/10/2022 21:58

Well done @LeftyLou

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/10/2022 11:50

I sts

a loss would have been nice but guess wasn’t a gain

need to get back in the game

Carpediem15 · 08/10/2022 16:52

No weigh in today as I had a Covid test and have to isolate for 3 days before I have a minor op. Didn't know you still had to have one so wasted a class today. It was my last one from my block of 12 and don't know if I will be able to go next week so will I have to join again the following week ?

Wilma55 · 08/10/2022 18:26

Don't know the answer to that @Carpediem15 but might be worth messaging your consultant. I'd booked my flu jab today and it clashed with the meeting and I'd no holidays left. Next week I must start properly again. My willpower seems to have evaporated. Having a sainsburys carry out curry tonight and I'm not going to look at the syns.

Well done on the losses ladies!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/10/2022 19:29

I've messaged my consultant. She's lovely, and friendly and she is v bubbly when running meetings. I find it odd that she doesn't do the weighing though. She always sits at the cash desk and has a helper doing the weigh ins. I'm used to WW where the leader always does the weighing and talks to you at the scales.

What she hasn't done is put my 2 holiday weeks on, so keeps telling me I've got 2 weeks left when I should have 4 due to taking 2 holiday weeks in the last 10 weeks. So I messaged again to say it hadn't been done. It wouldn't really matter but I on what would be my final week, for DD's birthday holiday. I don't mind it taking up a meeting, but don't want to miss more than one and have to then restart when I go back due to missing too many. Especially as I might have to switch to a different day due to DD's tuition day clashing with my meeting days.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 09/10/2022 10:41

It seems to be the SW way (weigh!) to NOT have the consultant do the weigh in. I've asked and all the local groups are the same. My theory is that if the consultant did the WI, then people would get their questions etc dealt with at that point, instead of needing group time in among the happy clappy stuff. With a block, and booked holidays, I find the information given at the first clerk is a bit confusing, in that it's not clear if the booked holiday is included in how many weeks left, and I don't think they can check easily, from what I can gather. It's always been ok though, but worth checking with your consultant. I think there is something, for me, about paying to weigh, and having it done by an untrained volunteer, however lovely, that annoys me!

LightandAiry · 10/10/2022 06:07

SpongeBobJudgeyPants I am guessing SW do it that way to cut down the queues, but I agree, my consultant is difficult to approach, but during the happy clappy bit she talks to everyone in public.

LeftyLou how many weeks does the Eat, Plan and be Merry diary cover? It may motivate me again.

DrMadelineMaxwell great result

Blondeshavemorefun sts is good, me too having to get back on it

Carpediem15 I don't think you'll need to join again, can you book holiday?

I missed weigh in on Saturday as I was unwell, had lunch guests yesterday and I made a Chocolate & Raspberry Pavlova - Nigella Lawson recipe, I don't want to contemplate the syns 😱 I've drawn a line and carrying on. I am walking to town this morning, about a 4 mile round trip, dragging myself to yoga this evening and summoning some willpower or I will start going backwards....

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 10/10/2022 18:19

Sorry you weren't well @LightandAiry hope you are feeling better? Pavlova probably wasn't the syniest thing you could make! Big walk and yoga is bound to put you back on track! My last WI wasn't great, I hope I've been a bit more 'on it' this week. Sometimes it feels easier than others!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/10/2022 10:19

@Wilma55 csn you see this tag

saw on my thread she has managed to hide this and can’t find us

Wilma55 · 11/10/2022 11:29

Hurrah, thanks @Blondeshavemorefun that worked and I've unbidden it. Not been "good" since my birthday but definitely going to weigh in on Daturday, will buy the new magazine, think it's the Christmas one! No snacking or alcohol till after weigh in. Thanks again Blondes, I love the group on this thread 💕.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/10/2022 14:48

yah @Wilma55

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 11/10/2022 18:15
