All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

Well done @Blondeshavemorefun Welcome @slimiscoming Well you're back on it like a car bonnet @LightandAiry Haven't been for a while, but would you fancy walking parkrun? They've had a recent campaign where they're pushing the idea of the walkers again. @Wilma55 good point re Soup Book, but generally soup in our house is pot luck, from whatever is looking past its best in the fridge, and if we have lots of stuff from the allotment. Having said that the last book Take 5, I got that way, and it's actually suprisingly good!
How's everyone doing?

LightandAiry · 01/10/2022 10:44

Yes I'll walk the Park Run next week SpongeBobJudgeyPants but would have to slope off early from group!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 01/10/2022 13:59

Then you escape the Happy Clappy stuff! What's not to like?! I suppose you could alternate stay/park run, or something?

Carpediem15 · 01/10/2022 16:06

1.5 off today and Slimmer of the Week. Quite a few with a 2lbs off but they had gains last week so they will have to wait until next week.
Our group is not a happy clappy one or I would have given up after the first 6 block I bought as I hated that when I went years ago. She does zip through the losses and the amount of the gain isn't mentioned, just their total loss but talks about it if needed.
We chat about weight loss in general, recommend products, today's was Warburtons soft pittas and she told us about becoming a SW consultant as they are recruiting but it wasn't in a pushy way. I quite enjoy it if I am honest and it gets me out of the house for a while. 😊

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 01/10/2022 17:10

Well done @Carpediem15 .

slimiscoming · 01/10/2022 20:29

Girls, quick question.... do you use all
Your syns every day or mix it up?

2 or 3 hot chocolate at 2 each - 1 on lower than low mayo - 2 for pickle. This is most days. 1/2 Muller type yogurt.
Then maybe 3.5 on Skinny Bar or 2 if I have an Aldi slimming meal.

Average 10 a day.
Did SP 5 days this week and averaged 7.
Think the only time I have used all 15 is if I have had wine but then it goes over 15. 😄
.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/10/2022 21:50

Well done @Carpediem15

i use most of mine usually 3 on either lur pack or salad cream
skips 3.5
skinny bar 5

LightandAiry · 02/10/2022 14:12

Well done Carpediem15

Slimiscoming love the username! I don't set myself an amount of syns to use each day. On a good day I only use about 5.

I am struggling today and yesterday was a bad day - we were due to have guests yesterday and today for lunch & dinner. Everybody cancelled and I am tempted by oily olives and stuff. They are coming next week instead.....

I was going to make a chocolate pavlova with cream and raspberries, had the call this morning to cancel, just as I was about to crack the eggs, but I seem to have used the syns on grazing anyway. I really will have to pull it together or there will be another gain next weigh in.

LeftyLou · 02/10/2022 19:48

Welcome @slimiscoming 😊

Great loss @Carpediem15 😊

I have been over to celebrate my nephew's birthday and had pizza and cake. Well over my syns for the day but totally worth it.

ShakeItOff40 · 03/10/2022 07:34

Morning everyone!

👋🏼@slimiscoming - good username!

Great @Carpediem15 - well done! 💪🏼

@Blondeshavemorefun - I too can’t cope with happy clappy, however have just said to husband I need to be more accountable otherwise I will have to go to group. 😬

I’ve had the realisation that I am exceptional at slimming world… until 7pm. Then I drink about 5 x my syns. So that stops tonight. Would have been utterly syn free yesterday if it hadn’t been for all of the wine. 😳

Weigh in tomorrow, so trying to scrape a bit back today.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/10/2022 11:48

I’m avoiding booze as empty syns so prefer to eat them

went fir a lovely Mexican last night , I don’t think I ate badly minus the death by chocolate pudding

so if I gain on Fri thst will be why

ShakeItOff40 · 03/10/2022 12:12

@Blondeshavemorefun oh my god, that sounds a brilliant pudding.

I deserve to gain this week. I've really let myself down the last few weeks, but DH has said he'll also ditch the booze this week, which will help. I hope. Also, stress seems to be easing (I say that, ask me in a few hours!)

slimiscoming · 03/10/2022 12:20

Hey girl, how's this morning going? Freezing day here today so I'm making soup 🤓 got my first weight in coming up and I have to loose, otherwise I'll throw the towel in as I feel like I've really tried so hard and really been 100 on plan.

I don't drink but I'm a carby barbie 😝 so I'm trying to not eat as much pasta / rice as I normally would so fingers crossed it works out.

How much did you all lose in your first week?

I gained 1lb and was absolutely gutted and I thought I had done it right but I have now lost 1.5 stone so it does work.

LightandAiry · 03/10/2022 19:53

It seems to be going OK today after my bad picky weekend. I just had a large jacket potato with beans, veggie sausages and roasted tomatoes and feel full. Hoping for a maintain on Saturday, I think the weekend would cancel out any loss.

Carpediem15 sorry to hear about your gain, you'll probably lose next week more than you thought

Slimiscoming me too I like carbs! I did go carb free at breakfast though. Do you love bread? I think it makes me hungrier, I try and have ryvitas. In my first week I only lost 1.5lb, I was easing in a bit, but following week it was 2.5lb and I won Slimmer of the week. What day do you weigh in?

LeftyLou pizza and cake! My favourite things.

ShakeItOff40 · 04/10/2022 06:40

Oh 1lb down - I’m pleased with that after realising my faults. Now to power through and realise my faults/errors and fix them.

@slimiscoming i lost 0.5lb my first week, but this is my second week, and if I’m brutally honest I’ve only been half sticking to it. But I have heard a lot of people gain their first week, so don’t be put off! I find I try and focus on little changes to lifestyle when the weight isn’t looking good. Like you I’m a carbaholoc and would just nail toast/crumpets/bagels for breakfast. So I’ve worked so hard on changing breakfast so that’s not my instinct. It’s getting there!

Now the weather is turning, what do people drink in the evening? I know that’s probably a silly question, but I drink tea and water all day so don’t fancy it in the evening, and hot chocolate and wine aren’t ideal 🤣

LightandAiry · 04/10/2022 07:43

Well done ShakeItOff40 I love a hot chocolate too - do you like those low cal options hot chocolate? I have one of those with rich teas as a treat

Carpediem15 · 04/10/2022 07:53

I don't drink tea or coffee and hot chocolate is my go to hot drink. Don't mind Aldi or Asda own brand at 2 syns a mug but make it in a chocolate maker or the use the hand blender so it is frothy and well mixed. Most days use 6 syns on it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/10/2022 10:06

Well done @ShakeItOff40

hot squash. Summer fruits usually

ShakeItOff40 · 04/10/2022 10:13

@LightandAiry I had one last night and it was ok, but I must admit, I'm used to a velvetister which isn't quite as few syns!!! I will try it @Carpediem15 way though! That might help!

@Blondeshavemorefun ooh - you've just reminded me of warm vimto and ribena - THANK YOU!

Dahliasrule · 04/10/2022 15:55

Going to my first meeting tonight. I did get Covid so have had a miserable few days but am now fit enough to go. I hope I can stick to it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/10/2022 19:37

@Dahliasrule good luck

ShakeItOff40 · 04/10/2022 19:53

Good luck @Dahliasrule - hope it went well. You can do it x
